Do you agree with the author? Can Africa even develop to n appreciable level? I'm scared.
No, I do not agree with the author on many areas as stated previously.

Yes, Africa will develop and will even over-take the west when we begin learning. Right now, I do not even believe education is happening in Africa.

For education to begin in Africa, we MUST get rid of the brainwashing colonial school curriculum inherited from Britain and France, and replace it with ours. Once this is done, true learning will begin in Africa in our various native African languages. Only then shall we be able to learn, understand and conceptualize science. And only then shall we be able to build our own technologies and industrialize. Build our own cars, fast trains, submarine, airplane, go to the moon. Name it!.

See.

2. African school of grassroots science.

It worked for the Japanese, Koreans and the Russians.

It can work for us. But do we have leaders that can truly think?

Unfortunately, no. African leaders cannot think outside the box because they're also victims of the brainwashing education that made them believe we Africans cannot rise above western nations.

So bad. The system was carefully designed to achieve this present end. We've always had leaders with tunnel vision. Really sad.

Want to read Inferno and Deception point written by him, heard they are captivating, intriguing and full of suspense just like every other of his work.
I have read all those ones you mentioned too, Deception Point is very captivating and interesting, you need to read it ASAP. Also Digital Fortress is also very interesting. I have not read Inferno.

I've seen that book shaaaa!

The thought explained humans are either sanguine, phlegmatic, choleric or melancholy. I'm not sure I can tell where I really belong now.......

Bro, I thought he also said no single person has only one temperament. Could you throw more light on that?
Well, you got an idea of what the author is trying to pass across. There are basically four temperaments namely: Sanguine, Choleric, Phlegmatic and Melancholy just as you highlighted. But, to determine which temperament you are, you've gotta know how each of these temperament behaves.

However, I need to stress at this point that, no single individual has one genre of temperament. The least one can have are two - as it also depends on the percentage combination. For instance, Mr 'A' might be a combination of Sanguine and Phlegmatic in 60% and 40% respectively. What the above utterance means is that, Mr 'A' is more of an extroverted being than reserved. Though, the introverted aspect of Mr 'A' cannot be overshadowed. Thus, sometimes, Mr 'A' might appear bashful.

Now, let me succinctly introduce you to these temperaments so as to work out yours. Here they come:

1. Sanguine (the talker): relational and extroverted people.
2. Choleric (the doer): organizational and extroverted kinds of people.
3. Phlegmatic (the watcher): relational and introverted people.
4. Melancholy (the thinker): thoughtful and introverted nodes of beings.

I think with these little tips, you got yours discovered. Did you?!

Lastly, was I able to answer you question? Thanks.

He's a great writer, but my favourite remains Sidney Sheldon. He's a god. smiley

We've been repeatedly told that readers are leaders. Also, that he who doesn't read has a very little advantage over the one that cannot read. To read is to learn and grow. We won't stay long enough to experience all life has to offer. We need to read to learn from the lessons and experiences of others.

It's very saddening that in this age, despite the overwhelming abundance of information, a lot of us don't really study.

All the information we need to succeed in life has been written. Be it on money, marriage, health, business, family, success itself, religion. Name it. It's been written.

I'm currently reading THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED, By Scott Peck. It's being an awesome read. The author talked on pleasure, suffering, discipline, delayed gratification, child training and religion.

I'll talk briefly on self gratification. It's the ability to forego today's even legitimate pleasure for tomorrow's gain. Without it, wealth, health and joy will elude the individual. No one can truly succeed without this vital ingredient of life. To delay gratification is to prioritise. To delay gratification is to always look at the bigger picture.

The future is hardly far away. It comes pretty quiver than we can imagine. Time hasn't waited for anyone. If we must live a happier tomorrow, we must be mature and brave enough to delay gratification. I'll encourage as many as possible to get a copy of this great book and travel in the mind of the author.

So, let's see which book you're currently reading. Any book. And don't forget to drop a line or two from it. Thanks.

Lalasticlala and Ishilove, please let's do justice to this thread. Readers are leaders.

I do read the book from time to time. Things like; the sins of our fathers, Transference the outdated map. And most especially, what love really is not. Such as love is not dependence, and the opposite of LOVE is LAZINESS.
