It's only in naija you will study Yoruba and work In a bank. Protocols must be followed. If he was a citizen, then it could have helped a bit. I can't waste hard earned money on just any course.

Except the guy wants to go back to naija and work for pastor Chris oyakhilome or TB Joshua. no insult cool

USA is not even a religion country. I think he needs a rethink. He could actually do something else as a major then theology as a minor.

Justsaying# if that's his calling, good luck

Exactly my point about if it's need in U.S. Probably to lobby for a teaching job if he can get his PR and go straight into education.

buh bro, its not a community college, west Virginia University (at Parkersburg) or how do categorize schools as community college?

Read the third sentence very well on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Virginia_University_at_Parkersburg

Such school is agent's trap for naive victims who are too lazy to do research on their own.

Your account statement might have been a cause for denial..but why don't you guys just go for 'better' courses. You put yourselves in difficult situations when you go for such courses in a really competitive environment as someone mentioned earlier. Remember, getting a visa is only the first step out of many!
brother, plz the course is not the issue. You can get visa with any course so far you explain your case well and how it will help in your career. So forget course ish.

Try defer your admission to spring 2016 because if you visit the embassy within the next three (3) months they will still give you form 214(B).

From personal experience.

I visited the embassy June 3rd and was issues form 214(B) and revisited yesterday but the Chinese guy didn't ask me any serious question. He asked me where am going in US, Reason why i'm going and said "u're here recently...i said yes". He just issued me another form 214(B) without asking any further question. It's usually 6 months after denial. You must make sure your case has changed within this six months and then reapply. Rescheduling immediately after denial make you look curious and raise eyes, but dis does nt withstand the fact that some people are granted visa after reapplying days within denial. God has the final say.

Visa approved today in Abuja. 9am appointment. There was this black woman who was taking the interview like project defence. Someone said he was going to study information technology, she said he should explain the mechanism of the Internet. Oga come fall hand. She now aske him what he studied, Oga said Political Science, she said 'oh really, i studied political science". LMAO! <insert mortal kombat "Finish Him!">, who is your favorite political science author. Oga say na Aristotle. Lmho!

I missed her being interviewed by her by the whiskers. Thank God for everything, for my interview. It had to be God. I wasn't asked many questions.

Me: Good afternoon
Him: hey good afternoon, pass your documents
(Passes docs)

Him: I see you are going for studies, which course are you going for?
Me: Electrical Engineering
Him: where will you be studying?
Me: Howard University in Washington DC.
Him: why Howard?
Me: HU is research intensive and it caters to my area of interest Power Systems and Control
Him: is that what you did in your undergraduate study?
Me: yes
Him: where?
Me: calls my Nigerian undergraduate uni
Him: did you take GRE?
Me: hands over the test scores
Him: wow. Good.
Him: I see you've been to the US
Me: yes, was there for Christmas last year.
Him: yay! Good for you. Merry Christmas ( in my mind I was asking what's doing this man, biko)
Him: do you have financial aid?
Me: Yes. 35grand from my school
Him: who pays the rest of the 10 grand?
Me: I have some savings and my dad.
Him : what does your dad do?
Me: lists Father's occupation
Him: nice! good for your dad.
Types for 5minutes and I started praying in tongues quietly and asking in my mind what kind of essay is this man typing.
Your visa has been approved. Hands me collection form and Starts I-20 and POE lecture. End!

If you are going there , compose yourself and please pray, biko pray. Its not of him that willeth. I had some discrepancies in mY name, and in bank statement. I asked God to biko cover my errors, let them not ask me for any document. He did! Glory to God!

She's one of the most clear Americans you've ever met. Get to school and interact with Americans that I haven't communicated with Africans/Nigerians before, then you will be swept off in discussion.

Work on your understanding of American accent so that next time, they won't be asking you how are you today and you start replying "I will come back to Nigeria after my studies to work for ......."

Best of luck!

The chance is normal. Many were able to get it within 7 - 13 days of initial denial.

walahi! My application was complete. You won't be prompted to pay the application fee without completing the application.
They once replied that they will get back to me soon but to no avail.
They tortured Bigfrancis sometimes ago too before the sharp guy went with college park.

Sometimes some Americans are hard to get once but I'm sure this very VO speaks in such as way that Nigerians can hear him/her. The major problem with our friend was anxiety.

What you need is to conquer your fear, I know its not easy, you'll increase your anxiety by telling friends or family your interview date. This time, keep it to yourself so you wont be tensed, let no one know your interview date.
That's it bro... during my own I did not tell anybody not even my parent or sibling not to talk of friends

What I mean by completing the application includes your recommenders actually recommending, having your GRE report etc. I was able to complete the application by putting a GRE date and no scores in the application. My application wasn't touched until they received my scanned, official undergrad transcripts and my official GRE report. I had to prepare and I wrote the GRE within 2 weeks just to beat the deadline. UTK receives plenty applications but that is not an excuse for them not to reply to your emails. It took a day for my file to be reviewed by the graduate admissions after which they passed it to my department. Because I was in constant communication with the grad coordinator, decision was made within a week in the department. Two days after, my decision letter was online to view. But UTK is stingy with funds oo grin
