if your TV doesn't have SMART, WiFi or Internet as part of its name, then you have to buy a Miracast, EZCast or ChromeCast dongle (HDMI) from Jumia or Konga to enable it connect to your phone.

You can now easily connect your Android to your TV wirelessly so you can stream or watch movies on your Android and have them displayed on your large TV screen. Just follow these simple steps

1. You need an android phone that is compatible with the Miracast Technology and fortunately all android versions from 4.2 and above are Miracast or Wireless Display enabled.

2. Your TV has to be Miracast enable and fortunately again most modern TVs these days are Miracast enabled. If your TV is not enabled then you have to opt for the alternative, which is acquiring a piece of Miracast or screen cast dongle that you will insert in your TV 2nd HDMI outlet to make it Miracast enabled.

When the 2 conditions above have been met, you can now follow the simplified steps below to connect the android to your TV.

3. Switch on your TV set and leave or change the display to input mode

4. With your android phone now, head to Settings>>display>>castscreen

5. While on the Cast Screen, tap the menu soft key on your phone and select Enable Wireless Display

6. At this point you now wait for it to search and detect the TV Miracast screen, which when detected, it will show it on your phone’s cast sreen

7. All you need to do now when it has displayed the TV Miracast on your phone is to select it and your android device screen will then start displaying on your TV screen

Miracast technology is not compatible to some high end phones dat hv usb on the go otg function such as s3, s4, note1, note 2, note 3, note 4, s5 ,s6, htc one m8, htc one, Sony xperia zl,xperia z, xperia z2 etc. Ur tv should hdmi port then buy a dongle called ezcast from konga around 6k. Plug d dongle on the hdmi port of ur tv and plug the usb cable of the dongle to power the dongle. Change ur tv input to hdmi and it will immediately detect the miracast dongle on the TV scr een. After dis go to playstore and download ezcast for free and install on ur phone. The open it and put ur password for d first time. The tv will detect ur phone wirelessly and u are good to go. The go to ur phone setting and select screen mirroring scan for d miracast device and start playing videos, music, games, read documents etc wirelessly on ur phone to ur big tv screen

This is something I've been doing for over two years ago.
If you have a Samsung phone and it has the Screen Mirroring function, the next thing you need is the Samsung All Share Cast Dongle, which is like this in the attached pic:
All you'll do is to connect the All share cast dongle to the HDMI enabled TV with an HDMI cable and also another USB cable to power it on. Once this is done, Go to Screen Mirroring on your phone and put it on, the two devices would then connect and you could see the display on the TV

Here are snapshots of the whole process.
My Note 8.0 could not connect to the TV for now (because its been rooted) and that's why I couldn't show you any pic of when it is finally connected.

In terms of 10" and above tabs and laptops, windows is still dominant but I terms of phones, leave it for android n apple. Apple and google will not dominate microsoft in tabs and laptops in the nearest future because of a strong factor we consider when buying a laptop n dat is gaming. Now most games come out in three formats- ps4, xbox, and windows. I don't see ios n. Android coming into d fold soon
