I just realized that this piece of news may have been somewhat startling. smiley I mentioned a while back that my tour is drawing to an end sad but that was several pages ago, so it's probably a good time to explain.

After three wonderful years here, it will soon be time for me to sadly move on to my next tour, a couple weeks from now. But I'll stay on Nairaland until my successor has arrived and settled in. This does mean that I won't be able to log on every day, and that questions about specific cases will all be directed to LagosIV@state.gov because I'll have no way of looking into them -- but I'll be glad to keep answering inquiries that don't require me to be physically present.

Let's continue the thread as usual for now (except that my attendance will become somewhat intermittent) and I will say a proper goodbye to everyone when it's actually time to say goodbye. In the meantime, back to work, everybody! All will be well.
weldone sir, pls i got an offer from USA dat directed me to usiservice@usa.com as the United States immigration email address how authentic is the said e-mail address?

Good day
My dad filled in for myself and my siblings last December and when we checked our application status as at July they've all been approved. Please I'll like to know what the next step is and how long will it take to get the visa.
Thanks

It depends what your visa category is: IR2, F1, F3, or F2B. If you're IR2s, you'll be scheduled for the next available interview dates. But if you're F1s. F3s, or F2Bs, your cases are not yet current and likely won't be for a few more years. You can monitor the priority dates at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html .

Hello VO,

My F2B case is presently being processed at NVC with my father being the sponsor. My joint sponsors are my brother and sister. However, my brother lives in a different state from my father and sister. Is it appropriate for my brother who doesn't live in the same house with my dad to still fill the Form I-864A?
Thanks.

No, it's not appropriate. Only people who live in the same household as the principal sponsor can submit the I-864A. If your sister doesn't actually live in the same house as your father, she shouldn't submit the I-864A either.

I have no way of knowing. But right now F2As with petitions that were filed on or before Nov. 8, 2013, are eligible to be scheduled for interviews if they are documentarily complete and approved.

VO, my wife and I thank you very much for your help. I was able to pick up my passport and travel home. With prayer and HOPE I am home safely. Wednesday was my first time to the forum and since then I have continued to come and read through the questions and see how much you have helped so many people. May God continue to bless you with the ability to help others. Good luck with your future travels as I see your tour is soon up in Lagos. Thank you very much. God Bless!

Totally a scam and also full of lies and inaccuracies about the Diversity Visa program. Try typing in a made-up name. You'll see that you're directed to that same page no matter what you type in. Please don't send them any money.

That's a bit of a stunner.

Wish there was some token of appreciation we could show for what you've done here.

It's not so much the questions you answer, as the way you answer them.

These questions are about non-immigrant visas, not immigrant visas. Allow me to direct you to the non-immigrant visa thread at https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening . Thanks!

Ok.Thanks.

Hi VO,
Please someone I know is trying to misuse her visa.Infact, she is family. She has a visiting visa and has gone to U.S twice to have her kids.Initially, she thought having her kids in U.S will give her residency. But since that has failed in the meantime, she and her husband has agreed to get a fake divorce decree, they have also made an arrangement to with a Ghanian man (now a U.S citizen) to marry the wife in other for the wife to adjust status. They agreed to pay the man $10,000 for the sham marriage.I tried discouraging them, they wouldn't listen. Please how can we stop this fraud?
Re: U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer by PMBL: 1:24am On Jul 20, 2015
Hello VO
Am a little confuse and maybe you can clarify something for me. My husband was found inadmissible based on misrep and we always knew we would had to file a 601 waiver. He was given the ok to file the waiver at the interview. We filed the waiver and it was received on June 8, 2015 along with and argument from our attorney that there was never any misrep involved. On July 2, 2015 I receive a letter from the embassy for husband to turn in his passport via dhl which he did, then on Friday 7/17/2015 when I checked the CEAC website it states my husband visa has been printed and issued. Is this possible our waiver haven't been with USCIS that long and there is still no status on USCIS stating our waiver was approve. Is it possible that our attorney argument was correct? Could the embassy grant a visa before a waiver approval or do the embassy need to get some type of approval from USCIS before printing a visa for someone that was found inadmissible? I need to know have you ever experience this before, because even my attorney doesn't know why as of yet?

Good morning
My fiance was interviewed on Thursday. At end of the interview, he was given a salmon colored paper for us to return this Friday. He stated that the VO is requesting to see me.
1)Besides my passport, is there any information I should bring? My fiance stated that VO collected his photo picture and info pertaining to i134.

2) Is there any particular time to show up? Change date for appointment? The suspense of knowing if visa will be approve is too must to bear.. lol. My fiance asked me to write on nairaland soon as I arrived off the plane last thursday. But I have been busy trying to adjust to time zone difference. 2 am wake ups and overcoming desires to sleep at 5pm have created some funny but awkard moments.. lol
Anyway, we are currently in ibadan but will be returning to Lagos by Wednesday.

Case # lgs2015612019

Any insight you can provide is appreciated!

Hello Vo..

Hello Visa Officer, thanks for your good work on here.

Please, I need to know what the Affidavit of support form is and where it can be gotten. Afterwards, will it be filled and submitted online or taken to the embassy?

Secondly, who should pay the Visa Fees, Petitioner or Applicant? And how can this be paid?

Finally, we were asked to provide Tax Returns (Past 6yrs) of the Petitioner, will this be mailed or taken down by hand?

Thanks.

Hi vo
I have seen how helpful you've been to people in this forum.
please I want to know how long it will take for my interview to be scheduled and my chances of getting visa.
my wife filed for me some time in the month of November 2014 and we are married for over three years now and she was seven months pregnant of my daughter when she traveled with visa lottery which she filed as single, I have not seen my daughter since she was born and she will be three by next month.
we have not visited each other since then, I hope it will not affect our chances.
thanks
