Hello Nairalanders!

I must say that this is long overdue as many have waited earnestly and patiently for the commencement of 3rd edition of the Nairaland Math Quiz Competition

In this regard, i have decided to set the motion for what i would call 'The pre-competition arrangements' by asking for suggestions from math gurus, math lovers and wanna be math geniuses. In order to make sound contributions, you might want to;

1. make a review on the Previous Edition
2. suggest ways we can improve on the style used for the competition, things we need to add, things we ought to drop, and thing that needs modification.

Nice one. I think we really need to analyse the level if questions that will be treated so as to know the category of participants. For instance, if the participants will include jambites/freshers, it might be unfair to them if 300/400 level questions for math students are used. I could remember miss Jackpot's wicked questions for the last edition(lol). So topics and questions should be selected based on general knowledge and basic mathematics. My own opinion though.

duly noted! Thanks for your input. might be a mixture of O'level and A'level at the early stages, but will become tougher towards the end of the competition...you know, we'd like to be sure of the one we'l crown the winner. This is not to say that Jambites who believe in themselves cannot join.

now this has been a major challenge for us...we really need people to volunteer as sponsors so that we can make the event memorable for the winners. anyways i expect for now that the goal should be learning and not expecting a reward, but we'l do our best.

hahahaha...are you suggesting bring down the level of math questions used for the quiz? but how would one take glory in emerging the winner from a simple contest well your suggestion has been noted.

My questions were merely Coordinate Geometry (can be found in Jamb Syllabus and Year 1 Elementary Maths II)
