When I was in primary school there was this obnoxious guy in our class. He was very annoying. Anyway, he started to be absent a lot. Months at a time. So one day he came back to school looking very pale, very frail & he was shaking. I still remember he had on a beanie to cover his head. The teacher asked him to remove his hat while in class & when he did we all laughed at him because his hair was looking very light. Almost see-through like lace. Some called him "baby hair", etc. We gave him a hard time because he always made fun of other people. Little did we know that he was sick. He had blood cancer, leukemia & was in chemotherapy, which resulted to hair loss, etc. I think he went home & told his mom because she came to class the next day & explained to us why he looked the way he did. It was heartbreaking. After that we all became nice to him. However, in less than a month after that he passed away.

For some reason I have never forgiven myself for laughing at him when he 1st returned to school. I didn't even go to the funeral because I was so guilt ridden. The whole thing made me very compassionate of people with cancer because it really ravages a person. They become almost unrecognisable. Very evil & dangerous disease.
