You need to start reading from page one of Part 8. Also, remember that google is your friend.
In the mean time, click here to find a university in Canada that offers your program. What course are you intending on studying?

Dear All,

I just started following this thread and would like to get enough information on applying for Post graduates studies in Canada and not that expensive.

Some folks I read about in this tread that applied from another country couldn't get...

Moreover, IMO applying from another country might give the VO the impression that...
After the years you spent in your UG, you didn't even bother returning to your home country...
Which weakens his ties in home country...

Therefore, VO might deduce that he won't leave their country after studies

Hi guys,
Please if you did you medicals on the 13th of July and you applied via paper route, can you signify?
Have you gotten any mail or response from CIC so far? What does your VFS tracking say?

I have just been silent and praying. I did my medical on the 6th. 2weeks on I havnt gotten a response.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 8:45pm On Jul 20, 2015
Asin it's crazy. I even sent a mail to both IOM and CIC, no response. This wait is even worse than the 7-week wait.
God help us

Hi,

I'm impressed with your foresight and future plans. Well done!
You seem to be interested in an academic career. Would you be looking to engage in clinical work as well?
If the latter is the case, it might be better to wait till winter 2017, so you can have enough time to get your certificate and final transcript for your admission. That way also, you could seat your Nigerian licensing exam which is necessary for clinical practice. An added advantage is the one raised by TempusQ, coming home and writing the exam could serve as home ties for your visa application.

You come across as a very conscientious and focused individual so I'm sure you would make the right decision regardless of what we say on here.

I did mine at The consultants pratice. They said they sent it 5 working days after the tests were conducted. So obviously the delay is from cic. I really do not understand it tho. If it's peak period like everyone says, aren't they supposed to be more efficient?

Arguing with a friend.

Do you need a Transit Visa to pass through the UK to Canada??

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 9:12pm On Jul 20, 2015
For most people with Nigerian passports, you need a transit visa... EXCEPT if you have a visa to Canada, USA, New Zealand, or Australia. Here's the link that to read more about all the exemptions.

I applied from another country and it was approved in 6 days. I have friends I met here who also applied from other countries and they got theirs too. There's another guy who applied with his wife and kids and they all got theirs. I understand your point though and that is why I think your LOE is important since it represents you and your intentions.

My wife actually completed her medicals on the 13th of July at IOM (though she had the initial test on the 8th...but was recalled to give another urine sample due to obvious women monthly issue)...we've not heard anything from CIC yet...hoping the good news will come in this week.

The Vfs tracking is still showing...application being processed in Accra.

Hi guys, I'm currently studying at the U of S and truly speaking, it was a miracle. The U of S seems to be "one of" the most affordable ( of which I know of tho ) in Canada. One of it's advantage is : you dont have to pay your tuition ahead before you being granted an admission. Even when you eventually get here, the tuition is flexible. I.E, you only pay for the number of courses you wish to enroll for that semester. But BEWARE , Saskatoon is one of the coldest cities in Canada. It gets upto -50 during the winter so plan your coming.
If you need advice on the process, lemme know, I'll be happy to help.
God bless all your endeavors !!!
