Goodmorning fellow Nigerians, Nairalanders and Guests of this forum. Today (June 29) marks the second month of the life of Buhari's administration. I have therefore taken the step of matching some of his campaign promises with the reality on ground two months into his Presidency (Happy Reading).

1. Failure To End Boko-Haram As Promised:
During Buhari's Jan 22, 2015 campaign for the Presidency in Imo state, he made a pledge/promise to end Boko Haram insurgency within TWO months if elected. In his own words...

“If you elect me as the President of Nigeria on February 14 (March 28), I am assuring you that our government will chase Boko Haram out of Nigeria within two monthsbecause it is the responsibility of any reasonable government to secure the lives and property of its citizens.”
www.thenationonlineng.net/polls-campaign-promises-great-expectations/

Unfortunately, contrary to his assurance the BH terrorists has neither been chased out nor is there any significant improvement in this fight.

2. Failure To BringBackChibokGirls:
On August 11, 2014, the Northern Elders Forum gave then President Jonathan a TWO month deadline to BringBackChibokGirls. According to them, failure to return the Chibok girls within the time frame automatically means forfeiture of Jonathan's right to seek re-election in the March 2015 poll. In their own words..

“In the event that President Jonathan fails to do this, Nigerians will be left with the only conclusion that he has forfeited his right to ask

Despite the fact that this is your opinion, have you ever supervised say 10 people in your work place? Give us examples of how your leadership brought progress and productivity to the firm/company. Note; that is politics! Ask guys that read political science they will tell you! That's what is called campaign. He could still turn out to work but not rocket science.

“In the event that President Jonathan fails to do this, Nigerians will be left with the only conclusion that he has forfeited his right to ask for our mandate beyond 2015.”
www.leadership.ng/news/380738/northern-elders-give-jonathan-2-month-ultimatum-produce-chibok-girls-end-insurgency

Buhari promised to reunite the missing girls with their families..

"I will give all it takes to ensure that our girls that were kidnapped from Chibok are rescued and reunited with their families." (President Muhammadu Buhari, March 2015)

Though he never fixed a timeline, I believe it is fair that he inherits the 2months deadline given to Goodluck Jonathan by Northern Elders Forum. His failure to return the school girls after two months in power should therefore means a forfeiture of his right to extend his mandate beyond 2019 in line with the NEF scale.

3. The Failure of Him and His Appointees To Publicly Declare Their Assets:

“I pledge to publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees to publicity declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment."
www.dailypost.ng/2015/02/20/buhari-pledges-publicly-declare-assets-voted-office/

Those were the words of Muhammadu Buhari in his February 25 pledge. Unfortunately, it's been TWO months since taken over and we are yet to see the Assets of the President and his Vice. More painful is the fact that NONE of the President's appointees (Shehu Garba, Femi Adesina, NSA Moguno, Accountant-General etc) has declared their assets PUBLICLY contrary to his pledge of "as a pre-condition for appointment.".

4. Failure To Commence/Implement Other Programs:
It is unfortunate that two months into this administration, no one is talking about other Buhari promises like the 12 months post service payments for Corp members and feeding of primary school pupils. There is no mechanism in place to ensure that monthly N5000 payment to the elderly, disabled and the unemployed.

It is worthy to note that Buhari is yet to achieve ANY of his campaign promises. Though I never voted President Buhari at the March 28 poll, I believe that it is the right of every citizen irrespective of party or religious affiliation to hold the government accountable. I also believe that we (critics) are doing the APC favor by our constant criticisms. In fact, the APC on April 30 through its Chairman, Chief John Oyegun admonished the opposition to constantly keep the APC/Buhari government on their toes. In his own word...

“We(APC) want the PDP to keep us on our toes so that we don’t make the same mistake they made.”
www.thenationonlineng.net/oyegun-to-pdp-keep-us-on-our-toes/

God sparing our lives, we shall continue to keep them on their toes.

May God Bless Us All
You no go leave Buhari alone? We now know the source of your bias. You are among the few minority that campaigned against Buhari and lost woefully. We don't give a damn how you feel about our change. It took GEJ six years to goad Boko Haram into the monsters they are today and you expect somebody to curtail them in one day. Unlike GEJ Buhari has declared his assets. It was Jonathan’s denial that Chibok girls were abducted and his refusal to negotiate their release that doomed the prospect of their freedom and here you are. Jonathan’s apologist! You go tire.

Yes, and it is online possible for Buhari to be a President in only country in the world. A country where the majority are illiterates. I am not also surprise with that, we practice democracy, and majority wins, and in this case, the majority are illiterates. We can avoid the current waste of years by arm-twisting the thugs in NASS to pass a bill granting States Economic Autonomy and Security Independence from the Federal Government. I trust my state government to develop our industries and use State police to provide security. I do not trust a Federal Government that is terrible at government but excellent in bullying.

I am stating herewith, that Nigeria as a country will NOT work until States are granted autonomy. At the moment, every state is a corporate beggars, going to Abuja to share what ever oil companies give them.

I am done being optimistic. I have bought more diesel in my lifespan than Netherland as a country and it is already ruining my finances.

Please kindly state facts for me as regards your first point, don't deal me asterisks, but rather facts and reasons.

No brother. I'll pass. We'll meet again. you've avoided me for a while and I wonder why the sudden interest? Hmmm. I see.

At your second point, Yes I have failed, no human in this life can't be without failure at some point in his or her life.

I'll have you know that my failures doesn't lead to the loss of life of innocent people. You spoke of the organizations of the exercise being overwhelmed, I believe they have inventory of those who paid that N1,000. So they should have made adequate preparations which they didn't.

Mind you, in a saner country, those who organized that recruitment would he cooling off in a cell at this moment. You should know that whenever a public officers actions lead to the loss of life in a saner world, they're held accountable for it. I believe you heard of that story where a Nigerian scaled the White House Fence and the Security Officer tendered his resignation. Now that's how things are done in a saner world!.

Hmmm. Like I said, some circumstances can cause one to resign and others would cause you to reflect and make it right. I also hope you know that some pains are worse than death. Though your mistakes and failures may not cause death but they can cause pains. Besides, in talking about death, maybe when you are in such a position as these guys, then we can talk about your actions and inactions and their attendant consequences.

Biko, I want to see that White House security breach article and the subsequent resignation. Before then, I remember you once said you've played politics before now. Don't you think there could be other reasons for that security officer's resignation?

Please note that I understand that something would have been done, most especially before the exercise about the large number of applicants but like I had said, they were overwhelmed and the contract revoked. Mistakes need to be made for us to grow.

The dead may be gone, but avenging them makes it worth while that they didn't die for nothing. That's why the U.S doesn't joke with the life of its citizens. I recommend you watch this movie "Flight", it starred Denzel Washington, you'll know what I'm talking about.

You can sue for compensation but for jail? Who will you jail? The Minister, or the President? Who? The government did the right thing by compensating the families. That's the sad truth.

Oh, I don't think you know the policy of the US government towards her citizens. Even then, in the US, there are citizens and there are citizens.

Lastly, we can not like everyone, whatever reasons you see for liking GEJ are there for you and yours to see. For me, I like a man who tolerates absolute nonsense, be it in form of religious, ethnic or whatever form it is. This is why I model myself after men like Karl Marx, Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara, Muta Baruka, El Hajj Malik El Shabazz etc.

Did you deliberately exclude PMB?

And you think GEJ didn't tolerate absolute nonsense be it in the form of religious or ethnic bigotries? The insults most especially from people like you? Even as you still do now? Brother, fear God nau.

Just let the Barcanista be.... When someone is not relevant in one social media, he will stick to the best one that he will see some gullible followers that can't think on their own. The thing is, I think that Barcanista is jobless or probably there is no source of income for him again because PDP lost the general election. So, he's looking for someone that will ask for his service on Nairaland. And I will tell him that there is no such person that will employ you here on Nairaland. If you are so sure of yourself (Barcanista), try to work out yourself on twitter, I think that will be a better place for you to position yourself.

I know your twitter handle and have checked your profile, I think you're just a small boy looking for attention on Nairaland, because you're not recognized on twitter.

You cant possibly tell me you were expecting people who are against Buhari to just let him go easy on all sorts of Promises he made before the elections such as 'curshing Boko Haram in two months' , and he didnt even do just that he basically kept belittling them and calling them a tiny threat but now he's suddenly all talk about how he needs regional and world support to fight BH ? Really? Then why talk tough before the elections and make promises to do things in random timelines?

You better hope he starts getting those Billions back because he did also promise to recover billions in the next 3 months which by my calculations should be around the end of October. So he has till then to get those billions he kept promising to recover like two weeks ago. And if he gets bashed by then if he fails to do it dont even try to 'defend' him because HE'S THE ONE WHO KEEPS MAKING PROMISES HE DOESNT EVEN NEED TO.
Is it too much to ask that you just shut up and work, they say action speaks louder than words but one thing thats clear is Buhari has basically been all words and little action in the last two months.

The difference btwn me and PDP apologists is that i know he still has the next 46 Months to make a huge turnaround and major strides so im not gonna start calling him a failure and all sorts of crap. All im doing is noting the amateurish mistakes he keeps making.[/b]
Ok fair enough, we should give him say one year and if things do not improve we call for his head or in 18 months?

To me the saner minds should not be worried about the antics and banalities of those who are still living the oblivion of the fact that electioneering campaigns are over and what remains now is for all and well-meaning Nigerians to come together, to collaborate with whomever is occupying Aso Presidential Villa (Nigerian seat of power) to move Nigeria forward, to stop Boko Haram Boys from their despicable and evil-filled trademarks, to fight insecurity, to stem down geometrical rise in youth unemployment and restiveness, to stop kidnapping enterprise in the Southeastern part of Nigeria, to re-orientate and dialogue with Niger-delta agitators, to provide qualitative and quantitative education to an average Nigerian child, to rebuild our health facilities and to promote an unprecedented foreign direct investment into Nigeria among others.

That is what, we should be all be talking of, that is what we should be demanding from President Muhammed Buhari and not these hollow criticisms and subjective assessment of the present administration that lack any merit in it but shredded piece of hates, bad blood and undeserved condemnation of a man who just spent less two months in office.

If we truly interested in achieving Nigerian dreams, it is high time we started interfacing and interacting with those in power and public services officials constructively as well conduct objective criticisms and engagements all the time. Let's come together as one, let's come together as Nigerians to move Nigeria forward. The blame game should have ended with March 28th and April 11th elections, let's move on. http://ademolaayokanmi..com

Please do not pass on the excuse that I've avoided you, thats lame, I really don't remember you engaging me in a debate and I made excuse as you gave.

And you're still focusing on the individual. As to your first point. A man who makes the mistake of accidentally running another man down will be let of the hook right? I remember a celebrity Ibinabo Faberisima being thrown in jail for running someone over.

At the embolden, you're playing to sentiment. They were overwhelmed, cry me a river, they saw wholeheartedly the number of people who applied, but they let their greed get the best of them.

And I'll have you know I didn't deliberately exclude PMB, he simply doesn't qualify to be my mentor. Read this poem, and you'll know what I think of him. www.nairaland.com/2122619/says-spoken-word
There's a fine line between tolerating insults and tolerating nonsense!.

Stop crying on behalf of buhari

Chief of Wailing Wailers Association of Nigeria!!!
This man is just trying all his possible best to bench Metuh of the "Award of the Chief Wailer".

Mr Femi Adesina is a Prophet. He's seen the future of these cry cry babies(despite the fact that they are adults).
One of Baba promises is to fight corruption. He hasn't started, you people have started crying of witch hunting, some of u have started lying with one illness or the other, and their shameless disgusting family has been shouting that they should leave their corrupt Child, children, wives, husbands etc. alone. Yet, the same lots of u people are begging for 5000Naira he promised to save u from wretchedness. Tell me, with which money?

And as for the Boko Haram and The Gurls, tell ur PDP cronies to release those gurls and end their contract with BH(I don't want to remind u of the former(RIP) NSA that said PDP is the owner of BH.

Meanwhile, don't kill ursef on Buhari's case unless somebody is paying u to really kill ursef which in turn doesn't differentiate u from those clueless suicide bombers.

Could you please address the issues raised rather than making a detour. Has he delivered on the promises or not given the timelines he personally gave himself.

I am neither a Jonathanian nor a Buharian. I only wish to exact the promises and assurances, the bases upon which the hoodwinked electorate massively voted for him.

When he made those promises, he should have taken into consideration the possibility of meeting financially broke nation.
