What did Jadesinmi do?
Jadesinmi took his project originally sited for Bayelsa to Lagos.

Lagos press purposely paint the Niger Delta/SS in bad light with a view to making lagos the perfect destination for investments.

its a shame.

Dangote has changed his mind and now building it in Badagry. And I have not seen Ondo people spitting fire because of this, Moreso since it is not an Ondo state govt project.
That one concern him. Dangote has no project down south anyway. The oil and gas belong to the communities and no 5 sensible human should take away what naturally belong to these people down south. Why is nobody after cleaning their environment? Pls development, employement, revenue boost etc are their right and they deserve it first. Every wise Nigerian is aware what can attract peace general. So untill cocoa, groundnut and palm oil become usefull and serve national income. The people of the Niger Delta deserve more than Lagos now.

The primary input in a decision to diversify the shipyard operations is security risks in the Niger Delta. The area remains volative and threat to uninterrupted operations.
To prove the decision makers right, Niger Delta (Ijaw Youths) issued threats to disrupt operations.

This will convince even friends of Niger Delta to stand down and agree with the decision to build another shipyard as redundancy against stoppage and damages resulting from Ijaw threats and attacks.

The ship yard is nt meant to serve oil nd gas only. Its for building, repair nd maintenance of ships. Hw many ship berth in bonny in a day? The visionary investors would nt limgt their selves to oil nd gas alone. Perharps, nd guys should device beta ways of tackling issues nt threat as always. They are scaring investor by that singular act.
OfoIgbo:
Btw, the two states with the largest gas reserves in the country at the moment are Anambra and Imo.
For proximity reasons Bonny makes more sense in the exportation of this resource from the two states.

If Bonny is investment-friendly enough for gas exports, then it should be good enough for this latest proposed project.

A few months ago oba Akiolu made his Lagoon statements, and that ought to be an eye-opener for the Lagos non-indigenes. Investments of this nature ought to be spread to different places.

My fellow Igbos should no longer look at Lagos as a southern territory, because when push comes to shove, you will find out that you have no stake in Lagos. Every Igbo should be in support of the agitation of Bonny people for the citing of this investment in Bonny or Calabar or anywhere in Akwa Ibom or Bayelsa, or even Oguta lake

Nigerians/southerners are opening there eyes.
Before now who cared about where any company is located, before now everybody loved Lagos as its own. But with the gesture of d yorubas d sign is getting clearer.
Let everybody develop there region with there own resources. Not where Lagos was federal capital for years, after it benefiting and been built with a bulk of the oil money, some people wud jump out from no where and say let others whose resources were used to build Lagos go back to there states or head to the Lagoon.

Any ship that wants to be maintained can come to Bonny.
The same way, what concerns oil company head quarters with Lagos, is d same way what will concern d ship yard with Bonny when its built.

Go and tell Jonathan , patience ,omokri,Askari, tompolo ,apkabio ,odili and others to go and build their own shipyard if they want it so much
President Goodluck Jonathan has directed that a $500 million oil and gas investment project be relocated from LADOL Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Lagos to Agga in Bayelsa State, The Nation learnt yesterday.

The project is a partnership between LADOL Integrated Logistics Enterprise and Samsung Heavy Industries, Korea.

The two companies are to build fabrication and integration yards for Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility for the use of local and foreign-owned oil companies.

The multi-million dollar project is in phases, and billed to be completed in the next five years.

The project is said to have reached an “advanced stage” before Jonathan issued a directive that it should be relocated.

The directive, contained in two letters dated April 27, was signed by Mr A.B Mohammed, a general manager with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

Mohammed signed the letters on behalf of the NPA Managing Director, Sanusi Ado Bayero, who is believed to be a stakeholder in Intel, an oil and gas logistics firm in Rivers State– an allegation he has denied in newspaper advertorials.

The letters read: “Pleased be informed that Mr President has vide PRES/99/MT/2/22 of April 20 approved the FPSO project be relocated to Agga in Bayelsa State when the facilities to handle such operations are developed.

“In addition, the project can be conveniently located at any designated oil and gas terminal. Please be informed that Mr President has approved, henceforth, all oil and gas related cargoes must be handled only in the designated terminals in Onne, Warri and Calabar Ports.

The letters added: “In view of this, vessels coming to Nigeria with oil and gas related cargoes, excluding petroleum products, are advised to first go to the appropriate concessioned terminals to be cleared by Customs and other relevant authorities, terminal operators and shipping firms.”

The Managing Director, LADOL Integrated Logistics Enterprise, Dr Amy Jayesinmi, said the timing of the letters was wrong.

She said the directive was ill-conceived, and capable of destroying the gains made by the partners in the project.

She said the directive to relocate the project to Bayelsa was part of efforts to destroy the potential local operators who are bent on deepening their participation in the oil and gas sector.

She said the letter was diversionary in content, advising stakeholders not to allow their attention to be distracted.

Mrs. Jayesinmi said efforts were being made by oil and gas operators to build one of the biggest floating vessels in the world, as well as making Nigeria the oil and gas hub in West Africa, adding that nothing would frustrate that efforts.

She added: “We got the two letters the same day: a day after the appointment of the new MD of NPA. I want to make it clear that we (LADOL) do not have problems with NPA because they are using our facility.

“NPA has an office in LADOL Free Trade Zone. NPA had severally said LADOL is the largest private investor in its facility. By the end of 2017, LADOL would have invested $500million in NPA facility. Technically, it is not appropriate for the project to be relocated to Bayelsa, the President’s home state.’’
The LADOL project is different from this one we are discussing here. The LADOL project is to be sited in Takwa Bay. The ship yard is to be built in Badagry. They are two different massive projects. This coupled with Dangote refinery will massively boost Lagos economy.

For those still insisting on the site to be located in lagos, can they recall why the groundnut pyramid was build in kano? Its high time we call a spade a spade and put away instrest based on sentiment and dwell on reality. The shipyard will built within its operational area except they are no willing to do bussiness though we will not resort to violence by asking them to do whatever they want to do within its operational area.

We know and thats more reason the shipyard must be at Bonny or likes where the NLNG are operational base. Infact making it close to their workshop save unnecessary cost and lingistics. And why were they not scare to drill oil and explore gases?

Even if it's not meant to serve only oil and gas operations, nothing stops the non oil and gas ships from coming to Bonny.

The man never did that. Pls try and dig up factual information about this. Let us always stand on the path of truth and integrity. The company is headquartered in Lagos sef. Their office is even in VI. The name LADOL is Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics.

The project was planned for Lagos and work has already begun before GEJ tried to use executive power to relocate it to Bayelsa. The company resisted him and filed a suit in court to challenge the abuse of power. To tell u how insensitive and funny GEJ was, it was only 2 weeks to the end of his administration that he thought it wise to use power to relocate a project that has already begun.

Anytime something does not favour u guys u start d propaganda of Lagos/SW press as if other SE, SS peeps are not in the media business.

Be sincere with yourself. It is quite difficult to do business in the SS due to insecurity and regular community wahala.

2) NLNG left Lagos, did you here anybody make any noise? Shell left Lagos, did you here anybody make any noise?
3) Have you asked why they want to build the shipyard in Lagos and not PH or Akwa Ibom
4) Shell has been selling of their onshore assets for years and moving further offshore, you can guess why.

I hate that man babs omotowa!!!
