These things you mention as being totally wrong have to do with the personality of the individual in question.

Mama P has always been the calling - the - shots kind.
Being the wife of a president took its toll and magnified her morale.....and by extension, her office.

I agree that Madam Pat was quite the outspoken kind, especially in the events that led to the elections...
But I see no big deal in holding an office as a first lady.

Mr Buhari's stand was taken at a time when the media was awash with news that negatified PEJ.
It was a gaffe on his part.
He should have simply told his listeners that the office of the first lady will be re-dignified, that it would no longer be characterized by the impunity and verbal recklessness as is being witnessed in this (that) administration.

Case closed.
It's all about correcting the wrongs of the past and consolidating the rights in an effort to build a brighter future.

PMB clearly said there won't be office of the first lady as if it were recognized by the constitution. And that has not changed.

She has constututional duties as wife of the president, this is normal, but the wife of the president has no business summoning security meetings, opening an office to influence who sees the president etc. that was the case with the previous government.

So if she wants to receive visitors, what does she do? She has friends, she possibly wants to attend to her personal goals as well. Her office isn't officially recognized in the constitution so consider that place a private business area. I believe that building was not erected by the previous government, it probably was used by previous wives of presidents but then officially designated by PEJ

If she doing the same duties past wives of the president did, why isn't she the First Lady. Why not just say she wanted to rename the office instead of saying the office is unconstitutional yet she's carrying on the duties of the office.
