Hello house, pls I need advice from gurus as regards my prospective visa application. I have a first degree in engineering and MBA. I intend to Take anothet masters Degree in project management in the USA.

Question : Does change of course/field affect one's chances of getting a F1 visa?

My my dad will be the one to finance me. I am to take over the family construction company eventually after he retires, My reason for crossing over to managerial field. Are these good answers if questions from the VO comes in these directions.

I work with the company currently as a field engineer

Thank you
I suppose you already have home ties. Now, just focus on reading transcripts both approved and disapproved visas.

You've got nothing to wrong about. Your reasons are good. In as much as your dad is the owner.

You can tell the VO that you want to study that major to have an insight on how to manage dad's company when you return home after your studies because your father is getting old.

Next is, okay, your visa application has been approved. Pick up your passport at blah blah blah. grin

Hello gurus in the house, pls who knows the direction to murtala Muhammed int'l airport (int'l wing) from Orile Iganmu bus stop?

Just take a taxi or take a bus going to Airport Road from Orile. Alight at the final bus stop and join a cab that takes you to the international wing.

Not only that their admission process is stringent, just a 2 year program in Harvard is like robbing a bank for tuition. They have Nigerians but they are mostly American born or those that migrated to U.S as child. For a Straight Outta Naija, you will be one very lucky genius if at all your application is considered for evaluation.

Their scholarship is very very very (x3) competitive. Harvard like other private schools is designed for you to pay with student loan if your parents can't afford the huge tuition a[/b]nd student loan is given if you have an American or resident who can cosign for you.

How about some private university who grant scholarship to students (deduction within 30% to 50% from school total fee which include tuition and fee, living expenses, books etc), is it really advisable to apply there and take their I20 for interview ?

DeeTus:
Take a bus going to Ikeja and then tell the bus driver or conductor that you're heading to International Airport, they know where to drop you and you connect to another bus.
Or better still, if you have some bucks, just take a taxi. It's less stressful though.
Walspring:

Okay and do you want direction for commercial bus or taxi ? Majority of all taxi driver know the place and can drive you there but if you taking commercial bus just try and board the one going to ikeja and when you get there ask and walk down to the bride close to the general hospital and take a navy blue bus or normal yellow bus going to international airport..

I hope this help

Thanx a lot guys

I have met good people in my life and Stewee is certainly one of them.

Despite all the childishness on Nairaland these days, it's good to know there are some decent good guys out there.

Thanks a lot Stewee.
I had to write this. (bite me if you must) *tongue out,

Doesn't take long. Say one week on the average depending on the courier/postal service used. Right now, schools are busy sorting out their fresh intakes so they might not have time your I-20 right now. They'll send your I-20 as soon as they are done with their freshers.

Get the person paying your fees from Nigeria send the money to your U.S. account instead and then withdraw same to pay your tuition.
I believed you could not pay in money into a u.s account or dormicilliary account anymore. Or am I mistaken?

No bro, call them or email them and let them know that you wish to be updated on the progress of your application. Give them the reason that you need to secure all your travels docs prior to the time of your departure... I applied and sent my SOA to my school last two weeks Friday, i received the soft copy of my i-20 on Tuesday last week and got the hard copy from UPS yesterday being Monday... So let them know how serious you are but don't be overbearing...
