Sis Moca its easy-peasy

Get your gele and fold down about 4 inches along the long side
Find the middle of the gele (All geles are usually folded in the middle so you will see where it needs to go) and place the middle of the gele against the middle of the top of your neck.
Then wrap one side round to the front of your head, and keep on going till you get just behind your ear. Leave it there. Don’t stop in the middle of your forehead.
Don’t worry, it will stay

Grab the other side of your gele and wrap the opposite way
Grab both ends, scrunch together and tie ( this is where the size of your finished gele is decided)
If you want a big fan gele then only scrunch a little and tie
If you want small gele then scrunch it more and tie

After tying arrange the gele.
Arrange from the inside of the gele out
Then start layering the front of the gele
If you had taken time to arrange the gele nicely when you did the first wrap then its easy as pie

Your Gele should all be done in 4 minutes.
Don’t spend too much time on it or your hand starts aching
If that happens then the gele has control of you and not the other way round 

Hey. Ok so I'm a Ghanaian girl, mid twenties and I've been dating this igbo guy for a while now. It's pretty serious. I went with him to Lagos for the first time to meet his family. They were extremely nice. My only issue really is the dress code. It seems I have a wardrobe completely unsuited for the atmosphere there. I was hoping I could get some advice on dressing and such etc. I wouldn't want to offend them.

Dress in appropriate clothes. Be decent enough. I'm sure you know what decent means. You are in Africa.

Just keep it modest that's all, no excessive show of skin et al. Let them get to know you first.

As a rule of thumb wear African fabrics and you should be fine . The family is important but your relationship with him is the most important thing.

I'm a Ghanaian actually. I joined because my fiancé is an Igbo man and I would love to get more aquainted with everything Igbo and Nigerian in general. I hope I'm welcome.
Recently had my first visit to Lagos to meet the family and it was pretty good I must say. Enjoyed every minute of my stay .
I'm am a Ga girl, a little different from the average girl. Favourite colour is black. All I wear is black and shorts which didn't sit too well in Nigeria I learned because apparently how a well brought up lady dresses there is extremely important so I may have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Lol. But his family is so welcoming and nice!
You guys are tops. I dough my cap
Anything else I should know? Entering a pure Igbo family?

Ok thank you. Then I'd probably have to start liking African fabrics. Lol I didn't even realise I had already posted something yesterday so I've put up the same post lol. He seems to not mind the show of skin but I let him pick out my outfit before going to see his family cos well he knows them best. And it looks like I'd have to sew African prints then. Thanks!

As you know for Africa black is for like funerals that's the general mentality but it's my favourite colour n I wear it everyday. So I'm not quite so used to doing things African. I have to go back to basics. Lol. But thanks though I get what you are saying. I appreciate the advice

We are trying oh my dear, it's just very hard to achieve but with time. Chineese folks are able to pull that off because of their family structure (husband is always the breadwinner) while moms are homemakers and always home during formative years. just grateful we named them traditional names for starters. We put the "No English language" sign on the kitchen wall now. It's been unusually quite lately

All those 120k aso oke that you wear for engagement and never wear again waste of money I am advising my sister to use lace for her engagement and just use aso oke gele and ipele.

No I think it's ok. Me I like subdued looks so if you use fuschia beads again it might be too much.

That pastel pink just complements and tones it down a little
