asha80:Lagos will only register minimal financial loss due to the reopening of Warri port. The real loss can only occur to Lagos, if Igbos that make up to 40% of Lagos leave Lagos, bearing in mind a lot of them are tax paying, and have disposable income, and are skilled. 1. Tax paying. The government of Lagos will stand to be loosing hundreds of billions of naira in revenue 2. Disposable income. Goods in Lagos will record a sharp nosedive in sales hence hurting other tax payers that depends on the Igbo custom as well as denying them their own disposable cash. This is a vicious cycle 3. Skilled. A great variety of businesses require certain skills, which human replacements from the north may not be able to fill. The above points will hit Lagos hard in the event of Igbos leaving Lagos. The immigrant Oba Akiolu may consider jumping into the Lagoon at this point |

9jii:btw, my first choice is a restructured Nigeria. If this restructuring cannot be gotten by the end of this year, then Biafra or Lower Niger Republic will be my destination. As for oil, Igboland is blessed with it in abundance. Go to Igbo areas of Rivers state, Delta state, Imo, Abia, Anambra my state As for gas, my state Anambra has the largest reserve in the country, followed by Imo state. Also it may interest you to know that Enugu and Ebonyi also have proven and untapped reserves of oil and gas ![]() I know it may be painful for you to know, but it's God's handiwork. So we don't have to take over anyone's oil and gas reserves. In spite of all these, I hinge my hope for a prosperous Biafra on the potentials of our human resources. Now, that's the key to Biafra's wealth |

I want to remind people about something that will be very important in the event of the creation of Biafra. Embossed in front of every Nigerian passport (and any west-African passport) is the acronym "ECOWAS". What this is trying to tell anyone with this on their passport is that they are are entitled to travel, live and settle anywhere in the West-African sub-region without need for any sort of visa. This same sort of system applies in Europe under the "EU" and all member nation can travel at will to each other's countries with no travel restrictions. It is most likely that Biafra,a west African nation, will become a member of "ECOWAS" and any Igbo man will be able to travel and live anywhere in Nigeria without any visa. In the event that the Nigerian Government is crazy enough to pull out of ECOWAS because it wants to Igbos to go, it will also have to ask all ECOWAS citizens living in Nigeria to also go. The mass exodus of not only Igbos but Biafrans and west Africans and the repartriation of their investments will lead to the decimation of the Lagos economy. What makes Lagos s great place is not its sea-port but it's population. Take away that population and Lagos will just be a "coastal town" as it was in the 30's and 40's before the massive influx of people from other regions. Yorubas did not make Lagos what it is, Lagos is the result of the joint effort of everybody. With the Igbo population of Lagos now getting to 50% or half Lagos, take the Igbos out of Lagos and there is no Lagos. Frankly, I want my people, the Igbos, out of Lagos and back home with their investments so we can build the future Biafra. Onitsha, Nnewi or Aba can be bigger than Lagos in a few years if we do this |

OP the only thing that will happen is what happened when Abuja was declared the federal capital territory. Who God as bless he as blessed. The Europe came in tru the south of Warri Calabar n Lagos, yet it stood out when no single Igbo lived there. When you do leave which is what I desire strongly for you Lagos will still stand. You can simply understand this by comparing Lagos port with every other ports along the West African coast. Lagos still stand out considering the unfriendly nature to business, traffic, terrible road network. All you need to do is put your brain to work and understand that Lagos port will be servicing the entire South Western region, it would also be serving the entire Northern region while PH Warri Akwa Ibom and the rest port you listed will be serving the SE and SS. Work out the population and the business and do not forget if no drop of crude oil is produced in the Nigeria without Biafra the country was feeding on something for several years before the discovery of crude oil. You can keep arguing what is not but that nothing you do can or will disrupt biz activities in Lagos. |

surefact:Sorry what I feel is not fear but rather, rage and embarrassment at the shallowness of my people. You will do yourself a lot of good if you can quit your simple-mindedness; not everyone who opposes biafran secession is a yoruba person as most of your little brains keep assuming. Just like I pointed out earlier in my comment, 'comfortable' Igbos are not crazy about the secession moves and will not be supporting it especially due to the senseless way it's presently being promoted on the silly radio station. I am proudly in this category; I support true federalism and resource control, not the balkanization of Nigeria which will greatly affect my businesses. I can smell from miles away that you must fall into one of the 2 categories of people I mentioned, i.e. the never-do-wells or the dependant students, else you would have been able to see the big picture instead of allowing yourself to be brainwashed by dubious characters. |
| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by phantom(m): 12:38pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
zendy:This is exactly what annoys me about the igbos who dont know that they can conveniently feed themselves.this is why i have absolutely no hope in biafra. our leaders have shown that being in a separate country may be the worst mistake we'll ever mąkę. I prefer a federalism within the larger nigerian nation. |

ayokellany:but you must also remember that figures dont Lie.currently 60-70% of our imports head to the SS/SE. what does that tell you ? |

What makes u think they won't return after getting biafra? If they can go to cotonou and Togo to invest, I was surprised when saw many of them in yobe state during my service. |

| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by zendy: 12:49pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
obailala:Who cares about your business? Who cares about a few comfortable Igbos? I'm a relatively comfortable Igbo man who will also be affected by the emergence of Biafra but I still want Biafra because the political and economic emancipation of my people is far greater than any selfish desires I may or may not have. This is about the future not the past and I believe in the ingenuity of my people. I believe that Biafra will be greater than Nigeria ever was. |

| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by obailala(m): 12:51pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
zendy:Are you aware that both Ghana and Nigeria were members of ecowas when Nigeria evicted Ghanaians in the infamous 'Ghana-must-go' saga? With that in mind, radio biafra proponents think the best way to break away is through the very tasteless hate campaigns they are waging by insulting and inciting hate against every other Nigerian tribe.... and lets just imagine that Biafra finally succeeds through this hate campaigns, for some people to actually still think there would be a rosy diplomatic relationship with Nigeria is absurd. |
| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by phantom(m): 12:56pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
zendy:with the likes of ochendo abi? Look, the igboman has far more important things to sort out than biafra at the moment. Are we even United? Who will lead us in biafra? The fact we are mouthing off and chest beating because of one retard (yeah i think hes deranged) in the UK who keeps insulting people, shows we are not ready. |
| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by phantom(m): 12:59pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
obailala:the fact only Very few igbos reason along this linę shows we are not ready.QED. Its a pity that 40 years after,we are still trying to get things through nzogbu zogbu eyimba eyi and it says a lot about us. |

| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by obailala(m): 1:07pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
zendy:Well, if you dont care, I care about my business and the businesses of my people. There are advantages of remaining in a united Nigeria and there are also lots of dissadvantages. However, I believe all the dissadvantages would be eliminated if we return to true federalism and resource control even whilst we would still maintain the advantages of being in a single entity. In summary, true federalism is the more practical and most convenient option for now not secession and to achieve that, the entire southern Nigeria must unite to make it happen. |
| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by zendy: 1:08pm On Aug 21, 2015*. Modified: 1:33pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
phantom:If you are hoping to get federalism in Nigeria, forget it. The northerners will never agree to it. They are hugely benefiting from the current unitary system and they will never agree to change. You can bet that they will use their numerical strenght to vote out any bill Sponsoring federalism at the National Assembly because federalism weakens the North politically and economically because they are too dependant on the Government for survival. Another reason why the North will never allow true federalism or regionalism is because it will easier for Nigeria to break up and for Biafra to emerge. |

zendy:is it the north that kept aba in Its present State? Do we need the north to come together and Build independent Power plants for nnewi ,onitsha and ariaria markets? We dont need the FG to Build a 2nd Niger bridge to be honest. |
| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by ayokellany: 1:15pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
zendy:... and within your feable mind you do not think Nigeria would be able to dictate who join ECOWAS or not just like the EU is able decide who joins the EU ? zendy:What is the percentage of Igbos population in Lagos and where are they concentrated ? Igbos are only concentrated in 2 out of 16 LGA judging from last election result, this as proven that the Igbo entire population is not up to 10% of Lagosians considering the fact that a considerable amount of Yorubas voted JK yet he was barely able to score 40% of the votes when he's clearly the beta candidate. zendy:What state or city was beta than Lagos in Nigeria / West Africa in the 30's and 40's before the influx of the Biafrans ? What part of Lagos did the Igbos built before influx of the European to Lagos even though they came in tru Warri and had great rapour ? The entire Igbo race dead and alive did not contribute one meaningful thing to Lagos rather they came in to leach Lagos so the departure of your entire race would do no harm to Lagos just like when your lot left for Abuja. To be candid Lagos is now waxing stronger and would definitely be beta for it. A typical example is Xmas migration when the roads are not overstretched and traffic fantastic. |
| Re: Igbos And Lagos Economy by phantom(m): 1:19pm On Aug 21, 2015 |
ayokellany:in one breadth, igbos are not up to 10% of the Lagos population, and in another breadth,Lagos roads are Very Free during christmas. please reconcile the two. |
