I,m sure you didn,t listen to that interview.
maestroferddi:
Falana is not serious.

No-one needs his commendation now. After working assiduously to ensure Jonathan's defeat, he is now talking from both sides of the mouth.

Is he speaking well of Jonathan now because Buhari so far has failed to meet the expectation of making the South West a major plank of his administration?

I caught up with the final part where he talked about the law.
Falana well done

Kai Yoruba, so after conniving with awusa/fulani to robb the South of it's second term, you want to hypocritically dance your way to the heart of the South. You must sink or swim with your fulani masters this time. Nothing can save you this time from reaping what you have sown with your backstabbing nature!

He dwelt repeatedly on the lopsided justices system in Nigeria in which the rich that steal billions like royalty, while the poor who steal a goat or pick pockets who steal meager amounts like N500 are handcuffed and chained when being taken to court daily, and paraded before the public. The

He said repeatedly, "to be fair to Jonathan's govt", he signed "a revolutionary law" in May 2015 that prevents and effectively removed all the legal obstacles that rich corrupt officials used to stall prosecution. The law demands that all technicalities and preliminary objections must be consolidated into the main case. The law is defined to pull the rug from under the feet of rich corrupt govt officials from seeking perpetual injunctions, or asking the court to bar EFCC, ICPC or DPP from ever prosecuting them, in the same way ex-gov Peter Odili of Rivers State did, and Rotimi Amaechi is trying to do.

The law demands that all corruption cases must be tried day-by-day, and must be disposed within 6 months. No more interminable adjournments are allowed. You cannot also bring cases baring you from being investigated for corruption unlike what obtained during OBJ govt and before then.

The Sunrise crew went on the offensive asking Falana to show proof that the law is in operation. The legal icon responded that the law is just being gazzetted.

Asked if judges are not part of the problem, being themselves corrupt. Whether there are enough upright to prosecute the war on corruption. Femi answered firmly in the narrative.

Maupe Ogun (Femi Gbajabiamila's lover) is stunned.... and speechless.
Not sure she was expecting these objective statements from Femi Falana.

Femi Falana (SAN) dwelt not only on the effective Abacha loot recovery, he also elaborated extensively on the laws he put in place to strenghthen the hands of DPP and anti-corruption agencies to successfully prosecute corrupt officials.

Though Falana did not touch on this, via the e-purse, Jonathan effectively ended the perennial fertilizer scam in which Nigeria lost billions every year, and successive govts were incapable of doing anything about it because powerful emirs and prominent Nigerians were all involved. Adesina Akinwumni (former Agric Minister under GEJ) can provide more details.

GEJ's fault is that he needed to also publicly prosecute and make an example of corrupt officials. In fighting corruption in Nigeria, symbolism is very important. In our current national psyche and thinking, these symbolism are even more important than the substance itself. Nigerians relate more to fear factor in obeying the law.
There are 2 approaches to fighting corruption:
1. GEJ's goat and yam theory where systems are put in place to prevent thieves from getting close to the funds.
2. Flogging the goat for eating the yam.

For corruption to be effectively fought in a country like Nigeria where indiscipline and impunity reigns supreme, both number 1 and 2 have to be applied. GEJ failed because he attempted only number 1.

Let all good nigerians come together and help ibos to get their biafra . ..I am in support of biafra, unlike my coward folks who think they can't do without ibos. My people should start fighting for actualization of odua republic. ..we all have to learn to stand on our own... the Hausa / Fulani has to be on their own too.

I hate nigeria the way it is....we are not thesame people. ..the cowards should learn to be brave like ibos...I admire ibos even though their over chest beating irritates me...

Ibos should learn how to fight media war, not chest beating and making know all your little secret....ypu people should be sophisticated in media, not just defending. ..Learn to attack. ..anything for my odua republic. .

How does retrieving the loot of a long dead man translate into fighting corruption?
As a matter of fact, for Falana to point out recovery of abacha loot as GEJ's only effort at fighting corruption, he's actually mocking GEJ.

I believe strongly that because Jonathan cut off numerous corrupt entities milking the treasury, they connived using media to oust him while using their deserved tag on him...supported by US who has fallen out with him thanks to his pro-Nigeria policies that were anti-US....
Re: GEJ Fought Corruption - Femi Falana On Channels TV by Pennywise(m): 11:49am On Aug 24, 2015
He fought corruption? What exactly was his strategy? Overwhelm Nigerians with extra ordinary act of one corrupt scandal per day policy? Inorder words desensitize us to corruption so that ordinary Nigerians will stop seeing it as a crime. Infact not only ordinary Nigerians put the professed conscience of the people and the voice of the voiceless like Femi Falana. To that extent Jonathan succeeded.

Go and do a thorough research on loots recovery.

It has been acknowledged that GEJ took the wisest decision among African leaders to recover the money.

Make no mistake, the Western Countries aren't our friend in terms of loot recovery and monies in foreign banks are meant to be confiscated forever and not returned.

Was it Buhari that released Timipre Silva and why?
Acknowledged by taniods right? This resort to lies and falsehood was the chief reason gej foolishly lost the elections.
Re: GEJ Fought Corruption - Femi Falana On Channels TV by omolami: 12:43pm On Aug 24, 2015
Corruption fight is not on the pages of news papers like Buhari and APC are doing. GEJ fought corruption silently and it was successful . The e payment system became effective under Gej. Blockages of revenue leakages also became effective under Gej . Nigerians thus enjoyed 53%salary increase under Gej. It now 5 yrs after that salaries must be reviewed upwards, what has Buhari done? He is bent on cutting instead of increasing.

This is why i don't like Yoruba people, always talking from both sides of their mouth. Last time Falana was a staunch supporter of APC now he's singing GEJ's praises. So he knew all these achievements but said nothing because of tribalistic politics. If he had said all these before the election, GEJ would have stood a chance in the SW.

It's sad really that the Yoruba man cannot be trusted.

Lol.. Permit me to re-word my original statement regarding flogging the goat, "Tie the freaking goat"

That's what they do in civilised countries which makes them to have a lower prevalence of graft. Some countries even go ahead to slaughter the goat instantly for peppersoup e.g. China. Tell me why I would be discouraged from stealing when I know fully well that the worst consequence if I'm caught is for me to return a part of the stolen funds?

Considering that all goats whether old or young, foreign or local will always eat yam, will you kill off all the goats on the planet?

China has developed strong institutions.. those institutions are their way of keeping the goats away from the yam. That's what we need to focus on first..

When we must have successfully built these strong institutions, any goats that trespasses can be murdered or tied as the case may be..
