Don't blame Christianity. Blame the pastor that's talking like women are meant to be slaves. That a woman is meant to be submissive doesn't mean women should be slaves when they are being beaten and abused. Common sense dictates any lady should walk away in such situations and God won't begrudge her. I'm not a religious person so I can't relate with the born again part personally, but I do know some men that are supposedly born again cheat on their wives, the preacher didn't even say not being born again is reason for it, he made it sound like the women are responsible for the man straying.

And that's why the bible encourages us not to marry an unbeliever as in this is one of the reasons. Sin is sin in the bible that's no way around it

So you think believers do not have different opinions as to what constitutes a sin. Even the men of God and the deeply religious argue over some issues, in which one man of God might see an act as a sin and the other man of God might not.

No matter how spiritual one is, one is always a human being first and will always project some level of humanity in interpreting the bible. What if you have different opinions as to what constitutes a sin, would you still push your conscience aside, and be submissive to your believer husband since he does not see the same act as a sin.
