On d other hand, even tho d buildin is deterioratin, does that mean d environment shud b dis dirty, n its youths dat occupy d buildin. Is it d govt that will come n clean d environment

The problem is not solely lack of maintenance but overstretching of the existing facilities. Some years ago blocks 1 to 6 of Obafemi Awolowo Hall were renovated. Almost everything was changed. After about a year, everything got spoilt because of number of students. Each room is designed to accomodate 2 students, but is allocated to 6 students. This is apart from scourters.

I remember in my year 2, we ar 15 in a room at block 1 Rm308 Awo Hall.. 6 legal occupants and 9 scouters
Others room wer like dat too, no room in Awo Hall dat u won't see more dan 5 scouters, even Awo Annex sef dere is scouters

Someone will soon come and tell us how Southwest universities are the best.

The students should also help keep there environment clean.

And the management is busy building one gigantic state of the art new Senate building...

If we don't take laws into our hands sometimes and ready to make sacrifices, those nonentities in power will continue to take us for a ride..

Nigerians are just too irresponsibly dirty! Yes the University is a culprit in this issue but are you telling me that those EDUCATED students cannot AT LEAST clean up their environment? see how they are comfortably living in absolute murk. Waiting for the day the University will come to renovate and clean the place. This is exactly a microcosm of what happens in Nigeria at large.

When persons have elevated more than institutions, then the country is rotten. Nigeria can not be fixed, it is structurally decayed. Amaechi has a spokesperson and he is heard over the media. But OAU has no spokesperson and can not be heard. The only action they can take to be heard is strike action which further destroys the psyche of our students, our kids and siblings.
