It was dark and the rain was pouring down heavily,the streets were silent except for some few cars speeding down the road,but Renata didn't even know what was happening around her,her teeth were chattering uncontrollably,her ears pounding,her cheeks powdered by her tears mixed with the rain and her hands on her tummy as she staggered down the walk path,she regretted her predicament and wished she could rewind her days back even if its just to a year back,now its her fault her twin sister is dead all at d hands of one man and his family,she sighed as she tried to look around,so she could see where she was headed,the movement proved futile as it hurt her already famished body,she knew it was just a matter of minutes before she joined her twin sister at the land of the dead.Renata fell down to the ground as she cldnt hold herself anymore,as she lay there she closed her eyes and lost track of time before a gentle voice forced her eyes open,she looked up into a pretty girls face of about her age,she tried to put into words her gratitude and plea all at once but words couldn't form,she saw the girls lips moving and knew the girl must be saying something but she couldn't also understand the girls words,Renata smiled and thought within herself,this soothing hands touching my face must be my last moment,but she knew her gods have answered her prayer and sent her her tool to destroy the family that destroyed her,she gave the girl a sign to stoop lower as if she wanted to tell her something,when the girl stooped,Renata used her last ounce of strength to push the girl down,and bit deeply into her neck,as she did that,she felt her soul leaving her body and entering the girls body, yes I did it was Renatas final thought.

Nneka woke up and felt instant panic,her surroundings looked strange to her,she tried to sit up,it was then it dawned on her that she was in a hospital,a nurse backing her was at a corner,she must be busy with something,Nneka thought,the nurse faced her abruptly,guess the noise she made trying to stand up must have alerted the nurse
"oh madam,thank God you are awake,I was wondering if you'd ever wake,thank God you did"
"what am I doing here"Nneka asked
"its okay dear" the nurse replied,"a good Samaritan brought you here and paid all your bills,he said he saw you lying on the road side,you should be discharged soon,let me get the doctor"the nurse quickly left the room,like seriously,Nneka wondered what was really happening around her,
"what exactly is that nurse saying?"she asked herself,how can someone say he saw her lying on the road,what exactly would she be doing on the road or did she faint or something,last she remembered,she came back from work very late and decided to go get dinner as she was famished,she was walking on the road and then...........she couldn't remember anything else ,try as she may,and she felt so heavy,she just didn't know why.Nneka was forcefully jerked out of her musings when the door opened and a doctor and nurse walked in,Nneka watched them warily as they approached her,she didn't trust the nurse's cock and bull story,
"young lady,its time for us to discharge you,is there anyone we should call to pick you?the doctor asked?
"uhmmmm,its okay"Nneka replied"I would find my way".
"okay then,just be more careful and don't go out in the night,do you understand?"
"yes doctor"
" okay,your good Samaritan dropped some cash for you,I guess that would take you home,the nurse would give the money and your clothes to you,she would also take you to where you would get a cab to take you home,do have a nice day young lady"

"okay sir" the secretary replied as she closed the door.

"He would see you now,you may go in"
"oh,thanks"Nneka replied,she was a bit startled ,she didn't even know the secretary was back,she stood up and walked towards the door the secretary came out of,and the dark mean side of her smiled,her mission was about to begin.

Bako looked earnestly at the door,quite oblivious to what Asibi was saying,his curiosity was piqued and he wanted to see who the secretary was talking about,the door opened and a very young beautiful girl walked in shyly,Bako loved shy girls and was quickly drawn to the girl standing few steps away from his table
"Good day ma'am,my secretary said u wanted to see me,how can I help please?"

Bako watched he like a hawk as she walked out of the office.

Asibi sighed,she was just so sick of Chamil and her sisters and her sisters lazy husbands,in fact everyone around her was lazy except of course Bako and herself,yea her sweet brother Bako,just the other day he told her he had falling in love,though he still doesn't want to introduce the girl to her,she just hoped the girl loved her brother the way he loved her cos her brother was so smitten.

Bako prayed silently as he looked up at Nneka,willing her to say yes,it was too soon ,yes he knows but he couldn't just imagine life without her,since that day she barged into his office,and she insisted that he and not his employes follow her home to check her house layout for re furnishing and to estimate the cost his company was likely to bill her he couldn't help himself,he has been all over her taking her out ,spending time with her,treating her as a friend first before talking her into dating him,she had turned his world around,he told Asibi about what he felt for his queen,but she didn't know it was Nneka,he couldnt wait to see the surprise that would be on her face when he introduces Nneka to the family.
"yes I will marry you Bako"
Bako was exhilarated,he quickly got to his feet and wrapped his love in a tight hug,he didn't see Nnekas mischievous and pregnant smile

They were all staring at her like she had three Head's on her shoulders,these people have still not learnt anything from losing their brother,well they would learn it the hard way,Nneka thought as they silently stared her down

Nneka was flabbergasted,the effrontery of the fat assed woman addressing her so blatantly,wonders they say would never end,she could see Bako from the corner of her eyes sitting silently and uncomfortably beside her,he must be short of words,he had brought her here this morning to introduce her to these stupid set of people,how she hated them and all they had done was to rudely stare her down until the first daughter mama Bintu started jabbering nonsense. she could see that only Asibi the quiet one was quite uncomfortable with the happenings around her,the crazy Chamil was practically eyeing her and the lazy husbands as usual sitting as dummies,it was always a wonder to her how two sisters ended up with same kind of husband's,good for nothing men,maybe they prefer nuisances in their female bloodlines,husbands who only depend on their brothers in law wealth, the second daughter mama datar was definitely passing the hatred message through her stares,their children we're outside playing oblivious to the tension in the sitting room,Nneka sighed,she used to love this place,it was her home,until the invaders came and destroyed her joy,now they were balancing and enjoying what was not rightfully theirs,she would so Rip them apart one after the other.
"Baby let's get going,we have a wedding to prepare for"Bako took her hands in his and gave her a reassuring squeeze," we came to invite you to our wedding,talking about whether we are marrying or not ain't necessary because its a foregone conclusion,the wedding would hold as planned,our uncles are accompanying me to the east to marry my wife,we hope you guys attend if not we really care less,I expected your love and support as siblings but I guess that's an impossibility,let's go love"

Bako led her out of the sitting room holding her with a firm but loving grip,Nneka was pleased with the way the meeting went,it was just as she had imagined and planned.

"Hey Sis"
Asibi looked up and saw bako walking towards her,she quickly looked down,she didn't want bako to see that she had been crying.
"Asibi!what's wrong?"she felt bakos hands grip her shoulders,too late he had seen her crying,she lost control and the tears rushed down endlessly,she cried earnestly,cried for her dead parents,cried for her dead brother and cried for what the future held if her sisters didn't desist from their evil plans,she heard Bako cooing some reassuring words and massaging her back and her tears subsided
"Tell me honey,what's wrong?why are you crying"Bako asked
"oh nothing much,I was jes feeling depressed"
"Ehen, Asibi,you better tell the truth,don't get me offended,who upset you,what is wrong?"
Asibi looked up at her brother,searching his face,"well if you really want to know,its your sisters,they are freaking me out"
"what have they done this time around?"
"They all want to move in with you and your wife"
"you are kidding me right,why would they want to move in with me,is anything wrong with this house"
"Ehmm,I really dont know,guess they just want to cause trouble for you and your wife and am scared,your wife is so gentle and harmless like Renata"

The key was inserted into the door by Bako and he opened the door quietly,he didn't want to wake his wife,it was past ten already and he knew she would be asleep,he stopped short when he saw Nneka sitting at one of the sofas looking at him and smiling,so she was waiting for him,such a wonderful wife,he normally closed by 5 but traffic held him down,he had never been this late since they married, he knew she had to get all the sleep she could cos she was already two months pregnant,mehn he knew how to score a goal,scored it at one touch,he walked towards her and sat with her giving her a lingering and deep kiss,a promise of what was to come soon,he could feel his manhood already stirring,only Nneka could awaken such feelings with just her stare.
"How was your day my Darling?"he asked her
"oh,very fine baby,jes that i missed you,honey is it possible for the baby to start kicking by this time,I have been feeling something since morning"
"hahahhahahahahaha,baby,please don't be ridiculous, the baby has not yet formed,maybe its the worms in your tummy doing the kicking,definitely not my baby"Bako replied
