u mean you bought Samsung galaxy S4 at 15k ? that's very cheap, new or Belgium ?
Belgium, London used,I have been using it for close to 1 year now no problems, the phone is pure original, made in korea and it look new, the secret of computer village is for you to know where vendors are bringing phones out direct from containers that arrived from Europe, those phone vendors normally sit in front of techno show room in the computer village, they sell with receipt and have a permanent selling position.

i would advice you not to fall among the crowd, coz this life we are blinded by things we crave for when the dough is not much available. try to decipher what this mean and not the other way round.
as you can see you paid a price for wanting something that make people fall head on you.
You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. james 4:2-3

The story is 100% true,it happen to greedy guys that want to use small money to buy expensive phones.A random guy that has no sitting spot will walk up to somebody at entrance of computer village under bridge and flash an iPhone 6 or any other expensive phone that someone knows the phone to be above 100k and the guy will tell his victims to bring 15k and the mugu will price the expensive phone 10k, because the person buying it is gullible.
I know stories like these happen, but this particular one is questionable. The apparent embellishments in the story make it impossible to believe.

I totally agree with you on this.

Exactly what is ruining today's youths and society in general. Competition, competition and competition. Always trying to best each other. Was reading a thread two days ago on NL about phone usage. Some were boasting of not using a phone for more than two months.

Find out what you need a phone for. Mails, calls, IM, social media et al.

At the end of the day, all is vanity.

See that's the funny thing. You always see the cheated guy as one dumb, brainless guy who doesn't know the workings of the streets.
Now, let me quickly say something. It's either you hav never been to Computer Village in Lagos or you've never been there. If you have, you wouldn't open your dirty mouth and call the Op mumu. These guys are Professional Street hustlers. They live their lives to cheat. Computer Village is their hood, and you just innocently walked right in. Hoping atleast you could get a decent phone. I have been a victim too. Once. This January infact. And my Street-knowing elder brother was there with me. Infact he carried out the transaction himself. How it happened, hw the precious Q10 I wanted to buy didn't become mine again, I cannot start explaining.
But pls, just shut your mouth if you really have nothing to say. Save it for when it becomes your time to cry foul. And we Nairalander's will all be here to shower our heartfelt condolences

Mine was at marina after the uba tower. This happened in August 2012. I was lucky because I have heard of them alot.
This ugly looking dude approached me and a friend with a clean bold5 also wrapped in a white handkerchief. We negotiated and he agreed for 25k since bold 5 was the most sort after fone then and the average u c@n get it was 45-50k.
Well after I paid, he handed me the fone and said I shouldn't open it since police men are around and might arrest me for buying a stolen fone. Yes he told me the fone fell of from the pocket of a banker that's works around the marina axis in a keke napep.
I collected the fone and the guy turned back to leave, I pressed d fone tru the handkerchief and I couldn't feel a key press I ran my fingers around it but still, I peeped tru d side and just discovered it was soap.. White bar soap well shaped like that of a bold 5. I sprang and ran after the idiot with my friend, he already entered where those igbo guys sell clothes. But I was quick enough to catch up with him screaming "thief thief thief"
The guys selling along d road blocked him, he turned around and handed me my money without argument, I just collected my money and turned to leave, but sylvester my friend had another thing in mind, "gbosa gbosa gbosa" 3 hot slap on the guy before we left. We left him St the mercy of the igbo boys....

i use an old tecno still now, but i still use it for the same functions Smart phone have, i can afford it, but i know my worth. .
i wanted to spend 30k on tecno about a year ago, i said what will a phone of such amount profit me? yes people will see you as a big boy,but honestly what do i really gain from it, i spent that 30k just to start a watch biz to where i am today as a student.
i warned several of pals then, why not use your money for better use than buy a galaxy that will afford me a laptop and a phone with change.
now they are beggin me for recharge card,

Heazy2015:
I had been usiing my Blackberry Bold 5. I think. One
of those camera phones and it was clear that The Lord
wanted me to upgrade. A new year beckoned and I wanted to
enter it with one of those phones that used stylus and were
y’know big. So, ladies and gentlemen, I proceeded to proceed to
Computer Village to make my dream a reality. I had with me
my old phone and about N10, 000. The plan of course was to
do a swap, add some cash and get the precious Q10. Gosh, I
was so excited.

That’s how I got there with my own two legs and saw those
guys that sell phones on the street. Asked one if he had the
phone o, he said yes. Can’t remember his name sha, but he sha
showed me the Q10. I played with it, even made a demo call
and all to be sure it worked. Baba took me off the street saying,
“We can’t do business here o, before these agberos will ask you
to settle them”. So, he took me to a shed. All this while, he
wrapped the Q10 in a white handkerchief saying he didn’t
want it to scratch and that’s how he keeps his phones. Me that I
wasn’t even paying attention. I was just excited ‘cos my level
was about to change. Nigga just give me phone, abeg.

So, we’re chilling in this shed, negotiating. He says I’m going
to have to give up my phone and cash. I’m like, “How much?”
He says like N15, 000. I’m like, “Just look at this scam. I’ll
give you N10, 000 last.” He mutters some shot and agrees. He
takes my phone to check it. He then tells me he’s going to stop
a bike for me so that no agberos will disturb me immediately
we’re done. I’m like Okak. He takes the N10, 000, counts it
and then gets a bike for me. He tells me not to stop o because
these agberos. So he hands me the handkerchief.

Men and brethren, I got on this bike so excited and told the
bike man, “Go go go, don’t stop!!!”

The bike man took me to Allen avenue before I came down. I
held on to this handkerchief like my life depended on it. Fam, I
was a big boy now. They were going to respect me now. I had
officially arrived. Do they know those of us that have Q10?
Shiiii.

So I said, let me check my phone jare. I unwrapped the hanky.
Children of God, I unwrapped the hanky – and looking at me
in all it’s glory was a bright white bar of B29 soap. I looked at
the soap, the soap looked at me…I looked at the soap. I poked
the soap. Maybe this was a case for the phone. I turned the
soap over. No buttons, No screen. I was weak, guys. I was
weak. I stood there for some minutes staring at this soap.
Look. I took the quickest bike back to Computer Village. Of
course, it was instinct. I didn’t see the seller. I still had the
bloody soap. One idiot there now asked me, “Broda, why you
dey para? Dem no give you the cream wey dey follow the
soap?”

Ladies and gentlemen, I had sold my phone and paid extra
N10, 000 for B29 soap (with no accompanying cream). That’s
most likely the most expensive B29 soap in the history of
Nigeria.

I Have to borrow my aunts phone for the main time

You can as well share Ur own experience too

Its easier to call people names cos you didn't witness such. How do you expect one to think that a phone he wants to pay for would be swapped with a soap? That's wickedness. That's why most people prefer to get their gadgets in a reputable shop. Thanks for sharing your story, we'll definitely learn from it...

What I think is that the op just made this story up for us to laugh and I must say he achieved that but as for me to believe this happened? you have to come and show me the guy that sold the phonsoap to you.
As in the guy was being so nice to you and you didn't suspect him? To the extent he stopped bike for you before handing the phonsoap?
i am sure you have not been to Computer Village before, Just visit the men on the floor! the hustle is real there.

That is why i said that it is only the greedy people that get scammed by this street guys, somebody is telling you that the phone he is selling to you is stolen good, why can't you tell the person to search the content of the phone and call the person friend or relative to come and pick his friend phone that fell off from his pocket. Many people are scammed because they want to use small money to buy expensive phones, even if the phone is stolen they don't care, they use to approach me but I will tell them where do get that expensive phone you are selling at such a cheap price,if you have stolen it ,go and return it to the owner

my own was my brand new laptop i bought just 3 days earlier. na God o.
i was at old Revive Technology shop to buy a nokia phone to use as modem (during those days of freedom browsing). the fool was taking his time to attend to me, doing on thing or the other. my laptop was inside my laptop bag and i put the bag across my neck. after two much hessitation, i turn to leave the place, only to realize that my laptop bag has been zipped down and only the straps was what was still holding my laptop in place. the two guys behind me began to look at the wall beside them as if something intresting was written on it.

If I were the OP, I'd go for a revenge purchase the next month. This time with 2 Army officers. When I get any seller that asks me to leave the area because of Agbero, I'd know they are in the same scamming group. Then after he gives me the "phone" and stops bike for me the army go hole am sharperly, then ask am to dial number with the soap grin...
3 weeks later the call go still dey connect grin grin grin

This happened to my younger bro.

He came back from school gather money round enter computer village, He didnt tell anyone.

He said he wanted to surprise us.

I just noticed that he didnt eat lunch and dinner, he was in door throughout that saturday.

he was looking as if he was crying in silence with watery kind of eye balls, I asked what is wrong with you. didnt say anything.

later at night around 11pm, I asked him again and he confessed.

Omo see laughter, We were just laughing why did you tell us
