Good Morning to all the member in the house I have been reading up on art one of the thread and currently following up on two i think i have the basic concept of the admission process and visa application but i have just one problem and that is which school to apply t I'm currently an undergraduate in 300 level studying Computer Science i would love to do my masters in either Software Engineering or Software Development or Computer Science with a specialization in Cognitive or Information System I've found two University that offer Some of the courses i named above and they are the University of Frieburg and Fulda University of Applied Sciences and Maybe Technische Universität Kaiserslautern. Now I'm these three for now are my only option but i'd like more I'm graduating in 2017 by the grace of God and my current CGPA is 3.1 I'm therefore appealing to the house if anyone has any idea of another University offering the above stated course i'd be much obliged to him or her and then also if the universities in question can be processed using uniassit.de it would be more helpful to me and then also i'd like to ask is it advisable to take the ielts or toefl now or when its time to process the admissions and visa. And please where can one write the GRE in both Abuja and Lagos and thirdly any links to learning german would be appreciated i've already gotten some materials from the former thread android appps and the rest
Danke

Since you will be graduating in 2017 according to you. Why not wait after graduation when you'll be sure of having your certificate at hand before registering for English language proficiency tests? because this tests expires after two years.

Secondly, you can begin to search for schools now if you wish so as to know the schools to apply to when the time comes. You will find a lot of universities/courses via the website: (www.daad.de/en). GRE is not a compulsory requirement for most of the schools in Germany.

It's not all the universities that are under uni-assist. Infact, almost all the top universities are not under uni-assist except the ones in Berlin.

The German Academic Exchange Service website above will give you all the information you need.

Good Luck.

Well, from some of your questions, I feel you have not still gotten grasp of the one you read but still read this current thread from beginning to end.
1. You can already see that most people get their information about schools on DAAD website so if you need their suggestions, you should know where to go.
2. Obviously, if you had checked the schools you saw, you will also see the application procedures whether it's uni assist or not, even by the time you are through schooling, the procedures could have changed.
3. Schools may not accept IELTS/TOEFL results of more than 2 years, it's best you write when you are ready but of course start practicing now
4. For GRE exams, Google is your friend.
5. Read the new thread and you will get links and suggestions for new materials.

I admire the fact that you are already looking ahead, I know what occupied my mind when I was at this stage and listing schools that offered masters in my course wasn't one of them but still read and digest the thread well and lead an army of prospective German students in the future.

The gates of Walter Carrington are currently shut with no one going in, not even the embassy officials (except for one red Toyota car like that ). Armed soldiers have barricaded the gate. Been here since 5:45, the soldiers haven't said anything other than 'go back'.
I'll let the house if & when I get in, except things move too quickly & I can't make time to type a post.

They've just asked all embassy staff to form a line. I guess they'll be going in first before people with appointment are allowed in.

We'll see.

Congrats to all those who ve recieved their visa and to those still waiting take a chill pill....

At this juncture I would like to chip in some advise on stuffs you need..for the guys try to come with some good jeans (they re expensive in Germany) a good jean in germany will set u back with about 80 - 100 euros..even if some may refer to ours as Aba made but try to get some good ones the weather and neat environment will nt allow them to fade with time....also try to come with some nice shoes too..buyin a good sneakers for 150 euros (nike) or a boot for abt 200box (timberland) is not something you wanna do within ur first few mths ..its easier to buy these stuffs when you start workin here and earning euros rather than use ur naira converted to euros for such...

and when you arrive ..you polly gonna live in a furnished apartment but the kitchen untensils may nt be there for these visit Tedi ein euro shop...the shop is in every city just use ur google map..you can get cheap household stuffs there and also some writing materials.

for those whose German re up to scracth you can register
www.jobruf.de
https://www.studenten-vermittlung.com/home
Jonweise.de
And also check ur sch job portals.

to check for some jobs within ur state.these jobs dont require working permit..they re just for hrs (3 to 4 ) and the pay is 10euros pro stunde.(its legal)...

all the best.

i ve to run now I will edit the post later...

Hello house,

Please I need anyone who can help with advice regarding studying at university of stuttgart. I sent my application for masters program Infrastructure planning and waiting for admission to come out. I however need advice from experienced people in the house about the school and the city. How easy will it be to get a job as a foreign student who doesn't speak German? I plan to start German language immediately the admission comes out. Thanks

Why are you waiting for admission to come out before you start learning the language? Don't you know that the German courses have fixed registration and class schedules. As a matter of fact, classes have already commenced at the Goethe Institute and registration will almost be over. If you really want to learn German then register now.

Are you applying for summer semester 2016? I hope this is what you are applying for because if you are applying for this winter semester 2015 that people are already collecting visas for, then it is too late for you to make it. All the best
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by GottSeiDank: 9:51am On Sep 11, 2015
You applied to MIP in Uni Stuttgart. The program is winter only which means your admission will be winter 2016 because I think admission for 2015 has been finalized. Uni Stuttgart is part of TU9 and the City is great too. GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND. Guys already there can tell you more about the city and student job. Don't wait till you get admission before learning the Language. If you can start now why not

To all #team2016 hopeful, if you have the opportunity to learn the German language please do. As you are gathering your documents and preparing to apply to different schools, it will do you well by learning the language. You will integrate well and gets better student jobs with other lots of benefits . I will advice you enroll at Goethe Institut but you can also learn on your own, there are lots of materials online. But trust me learning at the Institute is better. A1-A2 or maybe B1 will do. Make sure learning the language is part of your to-do list. grin

There is a general consensus that Stuttgart is one of the best for hustle for students with little knowledge of German but that's not am excuse not to learn the language. What if you don't get the admission and only one you get is in one village in Thuringia?
