TheGoodJoe:Gerrard and Lampard were great, but not the best in their position. Scholes started getting overhyped towards the end of his career because he was the only technically gifted player england had/lacked. Figo was always better than becks. |

enomakos:This was one of our youngest u20 team ever. Shame Manu decided to act daft at the wrong time. |

edi287: I agree with you on Figo being the best winger but note Figo was in the mold of Messi and CR7. He played more as an attacking midfielder than winger. Unlike Finidi and Beckham who stayed wide and used their crosses to cause damage. Note also that Beckham (97 goals) had more career goals than Figo(93goals) As for Scholes, there is no praise that can equate his greatness. |

edi287: I did not say Lampard and Gérard were the best in their position.I said they are not overhyped. A player like Lampard is even underrated. These players were amazing but many look down on them. If you agree they are great, then they are not overhyped . |

edi287:The greatest compliment paid to Scholes came just before and after his final minutes as a professional player. In the aftermath of United’s Champions League final hammering at the hands of Barcelona, Scholes could be seen strutting off the Wembley pitch wearing the shirt of Barca midfielder Andres Iniesta, having been pursued by the Spaniard straight after the final whistle to swap jerseys. What Scholes did not realise at the time was that Iniesta only got to make the request after drawing lots with four of his team-mates – Lionel Messi, Xavi, Pedro and Sergio Busquets. That’s right. In the countdown to the biggest club football match on the planet, the best player on the planet (Messi, of course) was locked in a battle with four of his team-mates for the right to ask Scholes for his jersey at the end of the game. This on the back of Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola stating instantly, when asked, that Scholes would be the Man United player he would most like to have in his team. http://www.stakeholdergroup.com/opinion/why-barca-took-the-shirt-off-his-back/ |

TheGoodJoe:Don't get me wrong, I rate scholes. I think he's better than both lampard and gerrard, but all this talk of him being better than zidane, pirlo and xavi is nonsense. He's talented without a doubt; but slightly hyped in my view. He wouldn't make my top 10 cm of the last 10-15 years. |
| Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by edi287: 7:56am On Sep 12, 2015 |
TheGoodJoe:Both Lampard and Gerrard thrived because they had a superb supporting cast in Alonso/Mascherano and Essien/ballack. They're not the one man army(especially Gerrard) that the English media hyped them up to be at their prime. Its little wonder they both never did well for the 3 lions. |

enomakos:"the greatest U20 team he has seen" he said. When u mentioned Tunde Disu's boys i know u meant the Saudi 89 set which to me are till date d best ever U20. Manu's U20 were nt even as good as d Siasia's 2005 U20. |

Wow Kelechi Iheneacho just scored his first EPL goal. He entered in 89th minute for Bony and scored his goal on 90minute. |

[But Pelegrini didn't do well o. He still doesn't trust Kelechi. I had expected him to bring him in since and remove Bony. The boy came in on the 90th minute and still stole the show. That's how we roll! Hope he starts next game |

All he needed was "ONE MINUTE", All he needed was "ONE CHANCE", All he needed was "ONE MOMENT", WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF THE WORLD'S HOTTEST 18 YEAR OLD IN SOCCER TODAY..... Kelechi "The Alien kid" Iheanacho........ Look at the hunger in that kid.... Look at the dare on his face..... He will rule the world. Am I still overhyping this kid ??!!!!!!!Not a chance..... You call it overhype but I call it "THE BRUTAL TRUTH". He still has a long way to go but folks, we recognise and know "GREATNESS" when we see it...... Iheanacho is now another inspiration, added to the many I have, to draw upon to keep pushing to be the best I know I can be in Science, Medicine, and Biomedical Research both in my studies and young research career. The last time a young nigerian made this kind of entrance into the league of the big boys was during the time a certain Kanu Nwankwo shot off the blocks in awesome style. Nigeria is home to the next set of world beaters in soccer and beyond..... *mark my words* |

Time for Man city to push Iheanacho. Give the boy enough playing time and watch him flourish. Bony has been given enough time and yet nothing to show for it. Nacho 2 games, twice came-in in the 89th minute and now with one epl goal. |

Icon4s:Time will tell. Don't be in a hurry, okay? Wait, did you see Kelechi’s goal? That's the player Manu said is not good enough for his first team. The same boy you keep saying is overhyped. |

Yes Sir AIG07, I see it....... This is just the beginning. *smiles* I still smile at the thought that some people think My views on the young lad are overhyped.... Really amusing I tell you. #Matthew5v14-16 AIG07: |

joseph1013:don't mind Icon. See small Kelechi scoring his first EPL goal in his 2nd game after less than 10 mins of playing, it took Siasia's Mikel over 100 EPL games, hundreds of minutes and 8 years to score just 1 goal. Like I said, give Manu's boys 10 years and we can then compare |

safarigirl:u're right ma'am. But that Mikel part got me laughing... But when t got to where u typed MANU-u reminded me of how this man traded away his team glory for his own selfish interest-which as brought comparison with a lesser mikel's set of u-20 where most of them gone into obscurity. I hope these lads put their failure @d u-20 tourney behind dem n move on. Cos me still de find it hard to forget. Finally, welldone to sir. Joe n others who have been keeping us informed wit the progress of these lads. More ink to ur pen. Thanks. |
