Nigeria U23 defender Stanley Amuzie no Sampdoria move again after going under the knife in Italy
Nigeria U23 ace Stanley Amuzie has lost a lifetime chance to feature for Italian Serie A side Sampdoria after he suffered a major knee injury that will sideline him till next year.
Sampdoria pulled out of a pre-contract agreement to sign Amuzie after the left back damaged his cruciate ligament during a CAF U23 Championship qualifier in Congo last month.
He has since undergone surgery and AfricanFootball.com has been told he will be out for nine months.
Amuzie will now play for Portuguese second division side Olhanense, who also have another Nigerian, Femi Balogun.
The defender’s profile was on the rise before his injury setback.
He was already been considered for a run-out with the Super Eagles by coach Sunday Oliseh before his injury in Pointe Noire.

Where Beckham's freekicks overhyped? His crossing accuracy is ne of the best of all time.

Are Lampard and Gerard overhyped? What of Paul Scholes who took midfield passing to anther level. Long before Pirlo and Xavi.

Gerrard and Lampard were great, but not the best in their position. Scholes started getting overhyped towards the end of his career because he was the only technically gifted player england had/lacked. Figo was always better than becks.

I agree with you on Figo being the best winger but note Figo was in the mold of Messi and CR7. He played more as an attacking midfielder than winger. Unlike Finidi and Beckham who stayed wide and used their crosses to cause damage. Note also that Beckham (97 goals) had more career goals than Figo(93goals)

As for Scholes, there is no praise that can equate his greatness.

I did not say Lampard and Gérard were the best in their position.I said they are not overhyped. A player like Lampard is even underrated. These players were amazing but many look down on them. If you agree they are great, then they are not overhyped .

Don't get me wrong, I rate scholes. I think he's better than both lampard and gerrard, but all this talk of him being better than zidane, pirlo and xavi is nonsense. He's talented without a doubt; but slightly hyped in my view. He wouldn't make my top 10 cm of the last 10-15 years.

Both Lampard and Gerrard thrived because they had a superb supporting cast in Alonso/Mascherano and Essien/ballack. They're not the one man army(especially Gerrard) that the English media hyped them up to be at their prime. Its little wonder they both never did well for the 3 lions.

He entered in 89th minute for Bony and scored his goal on 90minute.

The last time a young nigerian made this kind of entrance into the league of the big boys was during the time a certain Kanu Nwankwo shot off the blocks in awesome style.

Nigeria is home to the next set of world beaters in soccer and beyond..... *mark my words*

Time for Man city to push Iheanacho. Give the boy enough playing time and watch him flourish.
Bony has been given enough time and yet nothing to show for it. Nacho 2 games, twice came-in in the 89th minute and now with one epl goal.

don't mind Icon. See small Kelechi scoring his first EPL goal in his 2nd game after less than 10 mins of playing, it took Siasia's Mikel over 100 EPL games, hundreds of minutes and 8 years to score just 1 goal. Like I said, give Manu's boys 10 years and we can then compare

But when t got to where u typed MANU-u reminded me of how this man traded away his team glory for his own selfish interest-which as brought comparison with a lesser mikel's set of u-20 where most of them gone into obscurity. I hope these lads put their failure @d u-20 tourney behind dem n move on. Cos me still de find it hard to forget. Finally, welldone to sir. Joe n others who have been keeping us informed wit the progress of these lads. More ink to ur pen. Thanks.

Nigeria starlet Kelechi Iheanacho struck in injury-time to earn three points for Manchester City to keep 100% record to the start of the season as he scored at Crystal Palace.
The match was heading to a goalless draw before the Nigeria youngster who was an 89th minute substitute for Wilfried Bony, scored his first EPL goal.
This is Kelechi Iheanacho's second game in the EPL since he was promoted from the U21 squad of the team.
Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh was quick to praise the youngster via Twitter.
“Kudos to Kelechi Iheanachor's for his goal that gives Man. City the much needed 3 points,” Oliseh tweeted via @SundayOOliseh.
