hugobuzz: You are a complete ignoramus and I will gladly school you The Niger has its origin in Guinea and travels through so many countries whoa ALL have the right to dam the Niger. In fact Nigeria signed a treaty to supply Niger electricity for the right to build Kainji. You say Niger can be ,CAN BE dredged. Dredged by whom? At what cost will it be a one off dredging and what would be the size of the so called Large vessels How many states would those vessels travel through before getting to Ontsha Those state will allow you destroy their enironment so they can clap for Onitsha because they don't know how to HAVE PORT Clever Eboes What would be the environmental impact of that dredging in Rivers state Bayelsa Delta Abia Akwa Ibom and Ondo states Benue States not to mention Niger and Mali. What happens if Guinea or any of the other upstream states dams the Niger. Why should the dredged port be at Onitsha why not Lokoja or Niger State or Kwara state Which International shipper will allow his ship to enter Nigeria exposing their crew to you kidnapping brothers You folk cannot analyse and always talk sentimentally The government has not built obvious ports in Lagos or even the more mangrove coasts like Ogun Delta Rivers or Akwa Ibom They failed to dredge Calabar and you sentimentally think Onitsha is the best place for an investor to put their money in a port? You folk are really amusin. Whether you like it or not Lagos State has the only natural harbour in Nigeria. All the rest are too expensive for government to maintain and that is why Lagos developed as a port in the 1890s https://www.nairaland.com/2306559/non-indigenes-lagos-must-respect-hosts/12 6 Likes |

omonnakoda: wow. such a bad word. well, you still hav to learn about the location of Onitsha an the dredging of the inland waterways to accommodate sea faring ships. the suez canal was not naturally able to accommodate large ships, but after dredging ,it became a major shipping route. use Google Earth and confirm the possibilities. then keep shut after you you done so. 4 Likes |

kenny987: Its not compulsory he goes in at most 3 days time; he's strategizing*lolz* You remembered how Yoruba's waited for GEJ for more than 3 yrs to fight him ba?(*winks*). Anyway, those that are battle-ready for the cause of some foolish urchins should know that war is different from battle.(Battle is the kind of at most 3 days time, let's meet and show ourselves; it works well on how annoyed you are at that time while war is that kind of Oct. 2, 8pm stuff; it bothers on "conjuring" avenues to ensure you "win (hook or crook)". But a wise man will avoid both. Only grossly foolish fellas there wanna send themselves to their early graves on some gibberish comments on NL. Seun needs to ASAP help us deactivate the sly stuff this is degenerating into. He own us that responsibility. This was how Tutsi, Hutus detested and despise themselves and there was an ethnic cleansing in 1994. Foolish people would do these stuffs and play to Nnamdi Kanu's hate campaigns. If you wanna leave a place, pack your buses and leave , if you wanna stay, stay with the people; understand them and learn to live with them! Yoruba's must also learn that an Igbo man will never be "fulfilled" until he sing his own praises ( so let's pardon them for that; even if they said they own the whole of Lagos, let's only laff at them and do what we can to ensure they don't. That could include not selling landing properties for them and not renting our apartments to them. With that we can ensure they don't "take over" Lagos. This is a policy most Ogonis use a lot. They make it extremely difficult for Igbo's to rent and purchase properties in their enclave. This is a beautiful option of helping them "realize" their Biafra quickly than killing each other. Also, it helps them to look back to their land of "Rising Sun" and helps them to seek for their justice and the kind of governance they crave much for. In all honesty, we Yoruba's are really holding them back! Let's deploy our policy of not renting our apartments out to them and ensuring they can't get properties here; I'm sure my Igbo's people don't need the "damned" properties of Yellobar and Yoruba! Let's retake Alaba by not patronizing them even if we will "cry" not doing so. Decide not to patronize that Igbo trader and businesses in your locality. Don't patronize that Yellobar man again. Leave that Igbo mans paid employment ASAP, Igbo's leave that Yoruba man employment. Grow animosity towards the person of thee other tribe.) When you are sick or your wife wanna deliver of baby, make it a taboo for a Yoruba nurse or doctor to touch you. Don't go to their schools again don't have anything to do with them. Eat and be drunk with the bitterness of your heart against Yellobar and Igbo's. Be a bit more foolish. Close your eyes when you see each other. Ensure everything in your life is always predicated on are you Yellobar or Igbo? Increase your folly. Hate a bit more. Be a bit like Adolf Hitler; hate the other tribe and tell d the world your tribe is the best ever after the Israelites who killed JESUS CHRIST (let the murderer of CHRIST come and brainwash you a bit more!). Let folly reign in your hearts. Isolate yourself. One day you will discover that you are not better than Adolf Hitler or the Hutus! Let's grow up and see ourselves first as humans then blacks and the various ethnic groups. One love (PS: those two grand fools who are toiling to arm each other should please gain more senses and let us deal with corrupt people like the 'Agberos' (I detest the acts of those guys) and our 'ruling elites' (the real enemies who help build this sense of Tribalism; Yes, Saudana, Ahmadu Bello, Awolowo, S.L Akintola, Azikiwe, Ojukwu, GEJ, Oba Akiolu, PMB, Junaid, Nnamdi Kanu etc who delight in wimping ethnic sentiments to make their points) |

hugobuzz:Onitsha is NOT the owner of the River Niger there are many stake holders .You cannot dredge it without considering the impact in terms of flooding in Batelsa Rivers or Abia Ondo etc . Or loss ofs Livelihood elsewhere.even if a port is to be established why Onitsha why not Kwara or Kogi or Niger State? Its the water level in the Niger guaranteed non interference from international partners from its origin in Guinea. and other upstream nations? Technically there is nothing similar between the Suez Canal and the proposed Niger dredging which by the way will not be permanent but will require recurrent dredging ad infinitum |

I have been reading comments and I can't stop laughing. Seriously this hatred between Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo is really getting out of hand and will not yield good result to any of you guys. Take a look at CNN, BBC and Aljazeera on daily basis you will pray Nigeria don't experience war. You pple better grow up and learn from other pple's mistake. |
