One thing that baffles me on this thread is how everyone is on Rooneys case but no one have realised how lacklustre Mata has been in Man Utd. The Guy hasn't done anything spectacular for us. He is just like Wayne Rooney(of this season), each time chances are put on a platter for him, he manages to miss(doesn't even shoot at all). The dude for me is a huge disappiontment and a total let down. Rooney and Mata should be left to drag for the number 10 position, that way-one of them is bound to have sense. Martial should be starting every match abeg. He's a complete package; nice hold up play, strong, dribbles, opens up space, available for a pass, always moving forward, and can shoot too.

I agree with everything you said. Mata was useless tonight. Gaal ruined our midfield by not selecting Derlin to cover the laxity of Mata and Teiger.

Mata as a play maker is very limited.. As much as I like him, I think he should stick to the right wing..he has no speed...can't dribble... his passes are just about it tbh

Rojo still needs more time but hasn't really convinced me even from last season.

Marshal should always start from the bench abeg..he still needs to learn. He's at the same level with Depay in terms of consistency.

Damian was poor today... he's always a suspect during corner kicks. I think he should have been substituted long time ago.

Teiger was just same Teiger who starts well and fades away later.. it was obvious he was so tired tonite and I wonder how on earth he was allowed to play the fill match.

The team had no problem 2day defensively in the midfield, they actually had no job on that. The two goals were individual errors. Our problem was movement, desire, creativity and conversion of chances.

Please do something for me. In our next match, i need you to forget whatever is happening in the game and focus on Mata and see what he's playing. The guy does nothing other than run around with the ball and pass to the closest man. Putting a player in the spotlight is what i do before analysing him, i watch you for 2 to 3 games and make up my mind. Watch Mata, then watch Silva then tell me what you see. Till then i don't want us to drag on it because i see you haven't focused on the guy yet.

I'm not talking of the 2 goals but the laxity of our midfielders. Hererra lacked the discipline and pace that Derlin or Carrick has. Teiger was good earlier on but faded because he can't compete for 90 mins. While Mata was wasteful!!
