Elrufai is an islamist. It will be very silly for any Christian to support this act of persecution.
Northern Christians need a much stronger unity, love and more emphasis on evangelism, without which, hardline islamists like Elrufai, et al will always have reasons and excuses to bring down churches and scuttle their spread.

Sigh....Did you read the write-up before commenting or you just went into conclusion after reading the topic

Will the Muslims accept this same thing if the governor was a Christian??... You and I knows the state would have gone up in flames by now.
Oga, the assemblies of God church problem is a national problem and not a northern Nigeria problem, you can read about it and if you must know, the leaders at the core of the embarrassing crisis are igbos if you must know

Abundant peace belongs to those who love your law; Nothing can make them stumble.1Pe 4:8above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins.
Where is d love among them? Why d fight for power? Is it morethan money? It a shame on christiandom. No wonder Revelation 18:2,3 says: "And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies".

The children are of the world are wiser the children of light.

It's indeed a show of shame that the Kaduna church will support El'Rufai.

Imagine the Gov in an Eastern state such as Ebonyi closing down a Mosque.. we all know the ripple effect it will generate.

Does it mean that Kaduna CAN admit failure to resolve the crisis and accept decision of the world.
End time, the world judging the church of the living God.

This is my point exactly!
What stops the governor from arresting the warring parties if he feels that they're breaching the peace of the state or community? Is the feuding pastors now bigger than the entire church, the body of Christ?

If you had followed the story from the start or done some research you'd know it has gone past just a leadership tussle there are now two fractions disturbing the peace and safety.

FROM NOAH EBIJE, KADUNA

Kaduna State chapter of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed solidarity with the state governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai for the two churches he closed on Wednesday in Saminaka, Lere local government area over leadership crisis.

The State Secretary of CAN, Reverend Sunday Ibrahim told Saturday Sun that the governor’s decision to shut down the affected churches was a relief to the association.

Reverend Ibrahim said this was because the Christian body tried to resolve the internal leadership tussle in the church over the years, but to no avail.

“It was a wise decision the State government took because the leadership crisis within the affected churches was not allowing peace to reign in those communities.

“We have received several petitions from the two factional pastors, none of them was ready to give peace a chance, and all efforts by Kaduna CAN to settle the matter hit the rock, and as Christians, it is not good we wash our dirty linen in public.

“So the decision of the governor to close the churches was a relief to CAN, but as I speak to you, some people may misquote the whole thing as if we have collected money from the governor. No, nothing like that, the truth must be told that those involved in the leadership crisis of the church were undermining the security of the State and the immediate environment”.

However, the two pastors in the eye of the storm opened up, saying that the initial arrangement of breaking church attendance into two sections by the State government to ensure peace should have been allowed to endure, rather than slamming total closure on the church.

In separate telephone interviews with Saturday Sun yesterday, the warring Pastors from Assemblies of God Church in Saminaka, Reverend Simon Jimoh and Reverend Haruna Tutu, said peace would only return to the leadership of the church when the Supreme Court finally delivers judgement on the issue before it.

Also, closed down is Theological Seminary of Northern Nigeria, (TSNN), Shalom Comprehensive College, and Evangelist Hospital, all owned by Assemblies of God Church in Saminaka

The governor said the decision to close those institutions was the outcome of the state security council meeting which was meant to forestall possible breakdown of law and order in the area, adding that he would not tolerate the use of religion and ethnicity to cause crisis in the state.

According to Reverend Simon Jimoh of Assemblies of God Church, Saminaka, “What the governor did was good because every government wants peace in the State. It was a crisis that erupted, from the national body down to the district, here in Saminaka.

God Almighty! Your likes only seem to know how to stir up hatred. You always try to pull us back into the abyss of religious intolerance every time we seem to be making some headway into peaceful understanding, no matter how minute. Sometimes it seems like you guys are ALLERGIC to religious and tribal tolerance.

The decision Rufai took was taken after consultation with Christian leaders. It was collectively agreed that it was the WISEST thing to do in trying to stop CHRISTIANS from warring and KILLING each other. The decision has since been applauded by CAN.

And yet, here you are trying to ferment bad blood simply because Rufai is a Muslim. It does not seem to matter to you whether the final outcome is the right one or not, what is important to you is the creed of the governor who took the decision. Two things you forget: 1-These "Northern Christians" actually voted for Rufai and 2-Rufai's deputy is a Christian.

If this is the basis by which you judge most of the things in your life then you will probably never know any peace. I hope I am wrong in that.
