You're not getting it. I am not saying each state will abandon other aspects of the economy, No. But developing what you have comparative advantage over other people will go a long way bring substantial development in the state. Other things will be there.

What are we even talking about? The igboland is not too big that real development cannot cut across the different states easily.

I am happy that these things are happening anambra state as we speak, but if you really look at the state, you'll still see that we're still struggling to open it up. We don't need to woo these people.

I have worked with the chinese, I know what they think about our region. They knew igbos before they got to know the other people from other regions. They would've loved to business with us directly but we don't have what it takes to bring them down to the region.

Heavy machinery cannot be brought to the east without passing through Lagos port. Any resources we need to produce our goods must be brought through lagos port. The number of accidents we see on weekly basis will at one time stunt the growth of these companies. The number of containers being confiscated in wharf will make our manufacturers run out of business. Our brother drive our bought cars from Lagos to the east everyday. Some are being seized before getting to the east, some got destroyed on their way to the east.

If you want to see real drastic development, just create an opportunity for goods to enter the state through a neighbour seaport like that in Abia state. You will marvel

Being able to raise funds via pay pal is easy if you know how to do it and you have people who are very honest doing it.

You can have an international system whereby anyone can donate from anywhere. Fund raising is often a challenge for our people.

Its like Nnamdi kalu that makes only people in UK can donate to sustain radio Biafra. What about those in USA, Japan or Brazil? How can they donate? If you depend on just UK, you will be taking only 2% of funds that could have come to you simply because you don't know how to make fund raising world wide.

Enugu city need to cash on the services industry like aviation,medical, educational, media, real estate, PR, advertising, ICT, insurance, banking, stock et al while the rural areas should be strictly agro-allied based economies.
Nsukka the university town should be allowed to develop at her pace but government need to put necessary infrastructures in place to better the lots of the town residents.

Ebonyi should concentrated on Agriculture and solid mineral development.


Owerri should tap into the tourism industry while the rural Imo state should cash on agriculture.

Anambra State should go for commerce, transportation, oil n gas, industries, real estate, manufacturing while the rural areas cash on agriculture.(Onitsha and Nnewi should be supplying some SS and Northern states with both her industrial and domestic need, Edo, Delta, Kogi, Benue, Enugu, Ebonyi all rely on Onitsha and Nnewi for commercial activities plus other Northern States that don't have common boundary with Anambra)

Abia should make Aba industrial, manufacturing, transportation and commercial while other areas should be agro allied base economies. (Aba should be made to glut Port Harcourt of her Aba products, Aba should be feeding not just PHC but the entire SS states with both her industrial and domestic needs) Aba is well positioned for Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Rivers, Imo markets as well as Cameroun and other central Africa markets penetration.


Anioma should open up for tourism, real estate, aviation and agriculture.
Aniomas have the most fertile plain in Igboland, vast areas of land and wetlands good for aquaculture.
Ogwashi Ukwu is bigger than Ikeja, it can accommodate any time of company being sited there. From Ogwashi to Umutu to Osisa to kwale down to Ozoro is very fertile plain with flowing rives and streams that make the place good for irrigation and all year farming.
Anioma need agriculture, they are suffering no ecological disaster like erosion but most of their lands are tilled at subsistence level.

You are a true son of your father. This is a faceless forum where so many people come and just type rubbish. Some have being deceiving others that they are Igbo since the start of this thread, but this write up shows some1 that want Igbos to come together & develop their own land.

Do u know that am always ashamed when we go to beg FG to come and help us to build a 14km second niger bridge(when Anambra and delta can build it themselves). Even though I am happy with where we are right now, after a brutal 3years war(that saw almost everything important to us destroyed). I still want us to criticize our governors(constructively) & force them to embark on project that will change the lives of every1 of us.

It is a painful fact that lagos and ogun(agbara & ota) have more industries than South East Nigeria. Believe me, only Lagos would have being able to compete with ABA if not for the 16years lack of darkness that the state have witnessed. Anambra is a state that is about to explode right now, cos they are so many developments taking place right now(even though south east have a poor information system).

Since the beginning of this thread I have always support the assertion that peter obi tried in Anambra state,but where he failed for me is his inability to convince jonathan to give us a Seaport. I have said it times with number here that we only need a seaport to develop & get to where we are supposed to be. We will keep up struggling the way we are now until we get a direct assess to the sea.

My brother please continue on your good plan and please am also interested in this your ideal(even though I have little or nothing to contribute financially cos of my work but I don't mind to support with the little I have even though it is 1k every month and also tell every1 I know about it) and my prayer is that it will come to past. Igbos are known to always hold meetings in different places they find themselves. They also form trade unions in different communities. If we can meet with the head of those unions to give us an estimate of igbos doing business in their markets or their locality, then we can take it from there.

Igbos that hold meetings can connect their members who are civil servants to enlighten them about this project. They can ask us to come to each state and organise igbo economic forum on any sunday of their choice (based on their weekdays busy schedule), and enlighten them about the importance of this project. We won't head these zones but their leaders who they feel they can trust can head their zones and they can pay to a particular account where many people will co-sign on it. This will be a source of assurance that their money will not be embezzled by thieves.

We also have world igbo congress around the world. Most of our brothers in the middle east are exporters and some are into business. They can also help. They won't be forced but their help will be highly welcomed.

Our economy must grow and we won't wait for the governors to grow them. Our governors can only do what they can but cannot over-push their boundaries. The money coming to the east from Abuja is too small for substantial development. The government will continue to remain shrewd in spending and this will make development slow and continue to be slow.

I want my people to clear the notion that they need to come to Lagos to make it. Yes, Lagos has its own opportunities but what you get in Lagos always stay in Lagos. But if you stay in the east, in the house you built in your town and drive to your business area in your own car. You'll understand what it means by developing your own region.

This is what I'm proposing:

We will choose an igbo bank and establishment a development fund. This fund will go into research of new growing businesses in the world which we can do and make heavy profit. This fund will also educate our businessmen on better ways of doing their businesses. There will always be economic summit in the east or any part of the country and diaspora every six months. They will also fund businesses through loans payable within a particular time. This fund will also help new ideas come to life by advertising these ideas to igbo companies and create an economic pathway to prosperity.

Igbos should patronise him alone. Since he is going to employ our brothers, he should be patronised. Our brothers should be given artificial monopoly and let them enjoy it. The only thing we want these companies to do is open doors for servicing companies owned by igbos, so that wealth can be spread. We're going to mail these people too.
One problem I have with Ibeto and Innoson is their inability to advertise and brand themselves as world class car manufacturing companies. The noise about innoson should fill the ears of africa.

2. We should have a distribution network. This network will cut across the whole country and in different states. They must get their products fast and when due. These distributors will be igbos. They'll make sure that their product will be seen by almost everyone in their respect states.

3. Government should give them waiver, give them undue advantage. Let them enjoy the environment.

Reasons for making these people super-rich are these:

1. When they become rich in billion dollars, they will be able to attract investors to the region by relating with these investors.

2. These investors will see the region as fertile land to invest. They will now be open to the different opportunities in the region. Like the saying goes, rich man relates with rich man.

3. As part of the agreement on monopoly, they're going to sign an agreement to invite investors into the region.

4. One billionaire in dollars, will give rise to 10+ millionaires in dollars, and so on. These men will be able to create thousands of job for our teeming graduate because they'll employ our people.

5. These billionaires will build offices and industries in the region. This will make servicing companies, banks, insurance companies, advertising companies to locate their businesses close.

6. We're not going to give them total monopoly, we will have modular companies who will use the shining light of their big names to sell their own goods.

7. Their names will sell our region to the world and they will see us as good people for business. This will make foreign investors key into long term investment in the region.

I am only in love with my region, don't be annoyed.

@VickJames Please, count me in. I am very passionate about anything that has to do with restoring Igboland to it's destined glory. I may not have much right now, (emphasis on 'right now'), but I will be willing to contribute whatever little I have to see to the success of this venture.
Secondly, pay no mind to those who keep trying to divide Ndi Igbo on this forum. I hardly come on this forum but if there is one thing I have noticed, it is that, that boy called chino is not an Igbo man and most certainly not from Anambra State. No true nwafor Igbo would be doing the kind of things he and abagworo do on this forum simply to stir up strife among Ndi Igbo. Avoid those two like leprosy please.

I thought I was the only 1 that have noticed this, I want people to know that this is a faceless forum and any body can claim identity. Chino is not an Igbo boy, right from when this thread started he have being trying all he can to derail it to no avail.

This suggestion by Vicky James have made my day and I wish we all can contribute and make it better.
