I stumbled across a thread stating the Reasons and Solutions For the High Number Of Single Ladies In Nigeria.

I will not totally write off the thread because the poster made some valid and interesting points. But however, I will say that article was totally flawed because the author made his judgment one sided and made us believe the growing success of the feminine gender is what is undermining the supposed success of the male folks.

Below I will alight the major causes of the high rate of single unmarried ladies and their ready male counterparts. I will ensure to be as brief as I can while outlining the most important points.


* High Ratio Of Female to Male:

The truth is most people can bring about this same topic stating or mocking the high number of unmarried single ladies usually forget that the last global gender statistic (2013) state that it is ratio 7:1. This means that their are 7women counted to every man.
The ratio of women to men is what makes it extremely difficult for every single lady to get a husband/partner.

Aside Islam that supports polygamy, every other religion and most culture across the globe frowns at it. Polygamy can even rarely be practiced in religion and cultural settings where it is permitted because of the high financial, physical and mental work that comes with it.

* Low Number Of Responsible Men:

For about a decade now, I have been blown away by the ever rising number of highly irresponsible men families now breed for our society to accommodate. There's about only 1 or 2 responsible male folks amongst a group of 20. The vices in the society have now become the norm in today's world. Vices such as; Gambling, Drug Addiction, Smoking, Womanizing, Fraud and even stealing. Habits or deeds we get punished for even on mere suspicion in the 70s, 80s and early 90s are now what are openly done and hailed at by our peers and society. Its now a norm for young guys to plait their hair, wear heavy jewelry, sag their trousers and wear heavy tattos. A man of 35 imitates and has a role model in the person of wizkid who is barely in his mid 20s. How shameful can that be in the eyes of a mature and ready to settle down single lady.

* Women Are More Loyal To Their Employers / Career:

When I saw on the other thread that HR tend to employ more women than men I just smiled because in reality this is absolutely true but most people do not know the reason why this happens. As someone with over a decade of Human Capital Development experience I will tell you that female employees are more dedicated to their jobs/employers than their male counterparts.

While a man can change 5jobs within a space of 4years you can easily find a female in the same organization for 10years. She is more concerned about building a career and job satisfaction unlike her male counterpart who is solely driven by the pay package.

* Women Mature Faster Than Men:

Unfortunately this is the bitter truth. You find a lady of 20years dating a man of 36years and you can readily observe the man is trying his utmost best to meet up with the maturity level of the lady 16years his junior. While a lady of 20years already has a mapped out plan for her life and future, a fully grown man of 36years is still struggling with the game console with his friends, jumping from one viewing center to a night club and arguing on soccer and other irrelevant things with his friends. The man only starts thinking of settling down when he is approaching 40years. Not because that his the path he wants to take but due to the unending pressure from family and older friends.

* Most Men Spend More Than They Earn:

Its so unfortunate to know that most men actually live far and above their earning. They spend to impress people who they eventually find out do not even send them. It has been discovered over and over that women have more saving culture and financial intelligence than their male counterpart. It isn't really about the number of cars in your barrage, expensive closet or gadgets, what really matters is your actual self worth in terms of liquid cash and investments. In most cases a woman and a man earning same salary and equal number of years, you find out the female has more assets and liquid cash while the male has more liabilities and debt incurred.

* Most Men Are Too Laid Back:

A lot of men tend to give up too easily after a few setbacks in their careers and businesses. It is then they start to blame the economy, their parental upbringing and background, lack of sufficient support from family and friends and even spiritual attack.

So many guys resort to heavy drinking and smoking after a few disappointments in life which now develops into an addiction. Before they realize it, they would have wasted a decade or two of their productive life.

Right now, there are more females excelling academically and professionally than males. Last year, there were 12 winners in a national quiz competition and out of the 12 winners, 9 were females.

Right from primary schools, while girls are in class, the boys are playing truancy and climbing all the fences around.

Go and check how many ladies are playing Nairabet, are into cultism, into fraud and robbery.

Right now in Ogun State, the Attorney General is a Woman, the Perm Sec of Justice/Solicitor General is a Woman, the Chief Judge of the Judiciary is also a Woman. In Lagos State, we haven't had a male Chief Judge in about a decade.

It's really a big issue.

GBAM!!! My brother you have said it all. Unfortunately, most of these lazy guys are quick to term any independent and hardworking lady's success as a result of her flirtatious or wayward life style. Forgetting that they are the architect of their lack.
