To make matters more Suitable for Bayo Shittu, he is from one of the politically maligned areas of Oyo State, who by the way were the final determinants of the 2015 elections in the state, he is from Saki. Also he contested in the 2011 elections and he is popular in Ibadan for his political slogan, "the Bayo you can trust". His only problem may be that he is a muslim, same as the current serving Governor and he is viewed in some quarters as a religious fanatic, but that is not a problem a lot of propaganda can't solve.

It is therefore heartwarming to see a minister emerge from Oyo State, who is not only popular but is also respected by his people. This is definitely a Change from the previous administration where a political mediocre who couldn't even win her own Senatorial district in the Senatorial elections, in person of Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, was taken as a minister from and for Oyo State.

Let's see what he can offer after 2 years as a Minister. People can be so unpredictable. One thing am sure of is that Buhari knows why he picked everyone in that list.

Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Shittu, simply known as Bayo Shittu, was the governorship candidate of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in Oyo State during the 2011 elections. He was the youngest legislator (26) in Oyo state House of Assembly in the second republic. Shittu also served as the Oyo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
He attended public primary and middle schools in Ghana, where he had the first 10 years of his educational experience. Thereafter he came back home in Nigeria and attended Baptist High School in Shaki where, within three years and three months, succeeded in coming out with a very good result that distinguished him, at that time, in the whole of Oke Ogun area of Oyo State. Oke Ogun now comprises 10 Local Governments.
He went to University of Ife as it was then called for his first degree in Law between 1974 and 1978 and subsequently attended the Nigerian Law School at the end of which he was called to the Bar in July 1979 as a Barrister-at-Law and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
He started politics early in life so much that even while he was in the Nigerian Law School, he contested election into the Oyo State House of Assembly which he won and thus, at the age of 26, became the youngest Honourable Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly in the Second Republic and was there between October 1979 and September, 1983. That was on the platform of Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN.
