Am just seeing some posts. I don miss oo chaiii.

Abeg teddyrain, I know you and stevecrun are friends but I will still like you to tell the house what caused the name calling. you said people should desist from him, let us know the reason. I haven't seen steve in a while so I cant speak from him

its like saying police help oooo, somebody beat me. ok make we see the mark of beating , you say no worry, just detain the person

you are my friend and likewise steve

I am not raising dead bone oo but it will help clear this isssh.

I believe in credibility and its wrong to make a fellow guy look half ass when we don't even know what transpired.

if you can not give the reason then the case is null and void

I hate the fact that people will come here , beef , cuss and lie. I have had a taste of it in the past but it wont stop me from helping anyone who needs it.

The thread has lost it taste. it is not so informative. check thread 1-5. it was atleast sane a bit. I am so careful with my comments this days because of this insult.

I am not a saint too but lets learn to tolerate each other. if thread get derailed, visa success sef go reduce.
I won't comment on it again. It's past and gone. I got no grudge against him, I've forgotten about it. Although I'm disappointed in him, but life goes on. I sincerely wish Stevecrun the best in life, as I wish for myself. I might have went to far to bring the personal matter here, but that's the same way I felt. I have always been open to him, and even while in my former school, before transferring, I have been humble enough to call both you, and Steve to seek advice, not because I can't get it somewhere else, but because, I see you guys as family, even though we have misunderstandings and fights on this thread. To say the truth, I'm so hurt by what happened between us, but I'm cool now. I didn't intend to rubbish no ones name, neither did I expect someone to do same to me.
But it's all over. I want to apologize to this thread, for causing some distractions, and disturbance, at the same time apologize to Stevecrun, I think I deserve an apology from him for what transpired between us (if he would man up) but if not, I'm still cool. I have learned a lot from this thread, and one time or the other, we all act. We are not perfect, or a saint as you said. I respect everyone here, no matter what has happened in the past. Im not here to claim right or wrong, but to bring about unity. I hope all is good with you over there.
Peace.

I see where the sport management comes in. Let's track back to the questions:

Question: Why did you choose the school?
Answer: I choose the school because the school has strong academic training for leadership in sport management and their renowned faculty, some who are leaders in sport caught my interest.

Note: Saying when admitted by CUMS the school offers options in golf, teawondo and leadership is called volunteering of info in U.S system of interview (either at the embassy or during a green card interview) and that always leads to disaster. The VO didn't know and wouldn't know if there are 3 options for the course in the school. Perhaps, he/she doesn't even care to know about this options unless it's clearly written on your I-20 like MS in Sport Management - Golf. This is the reason why he/she said I'm confused, why golf?

And since you've willingly volunteered info, this question came up

Question: Why golf?
Answer: As a sport **** here, I choose golf because it's my long term career goal to be a leader in golf management and I had the opportunity to have a skype chat with Tyler Corp a reputable leader in golf and an instructor in the department, who told me I am on a direct path to my goal.

Saying someone was the one who convinced you to do a particular course doesn't show maturity in a career. If you said that in SOP applying for a course in medical field, your application might bow for the one from someone whose passion is for the course. As you said, many said that here and got the visa but don't forget that many said that here and got denied. The point I'm making is always make it your intuitive conviction, your impetuous passion choosing a course.

About your mom's passport. It's good to hear that you were told to do so by the embassy and it's great that you now know that what they told you is almost irrelevant to your application. It's all about you and not someone who has already established him/herself. Their question still remains, prove to me you're a genuine student not prove to me someone is a regular traveler who has not violated any immigration law.

Lastly, NEVER BEG any VO during your visa interview. There is no maximum of time one can no more apply or get the visa. It's a matter of time and favor.

Oooops! Funny I'm doing this again, I've stopped commenting on interview transcripts since part 2 or 3 thereabout.

There is definitely a cultural misunderstanding here because in the U.S. system of interviewing you should be providing sufficient information (which some people on Nairaland claim is giving too much information). There is no quicker way to end an interview unfavorably than giving brief, one 1 word answers to questions that I expect an explanation for. But sufficient information should also be relevant. I don't really care about Taekwando because it isn't relevant, but golf is very relevant in the interview you described. That being said, I see several areas for concern in the way questions were answered during the interview.

The truth is, graduate students are held to a much higher standard. If you have already been refused three times, and nothing has changed, why would the outcome of the interview change? There isn't a series of 'right answers' that will get you a visa. If you aren't qualified based on your individual circumstances, you will continue to be refused until those circumstances change. I think people should reasonably assume that they aren't qualified (whether they understand why or not) after being refused three times in a row...

Sad news, my friend was denied visa. He is also going for his Masters in Theology, but when he reached, the VO asked him which seminary; whether catholic or anglican. He responded Catholic and he was asked to present a letter from His bishop...(although he was going there to study without the seminary or bishop's appointment), hence he is going on his own and his uncle as the sponsor. My other colleague and I went to the same consulate in Abuja and we all got our visas without this particular question. This was the only question he was asked and he was denied visa. We want to re-fire before the end of this month or early next month...what are his chances please...
