I bidded thru FBN too for the last T-Bill and my money was re-funded I guess the bid was not successful. Anyone who used FBN and his/her was successful ?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by DMerciful(m): 6:13pm On Oct 08, 2015
I bidded through first bank and it was successful. from my calculation 360 days was at 12.15%. I knew it will be around this range cos the rate was low when it was announced on tele.

Can you please educate me on treasury bill, or can we talk outside dis forum like chat or call.

I am getting alot of distorted information. First of all i go to my bank ecobank and ask dem to help me with treasury bills 5m for 91days and d guy begins to say the best he can do his 9percent,he isnt sure dey hv 91days. Am like wth! but i hv a fixed deposit running at 8.5percent. I suspect he must be trading in d secondary market.

What do i need to do to directly trade with cbn ?

I understand cbn only trades twice is a month and d next one is 20th of this month.

Can you guide me on hw tou went abt tour bidding?

What rate did you use?

Was yours primary or secondary market?

Cos many of this bank are thieves and all dey want is to milk one dry.

Who is d best person to speak to cos d marketer i spoke to did nt seem educated enough on the subject.

I use first bank for treasury bills and i opened account with first bank because of this. They have a form you fill and you indicate the tenure but the bid rate is usually the bank's bid rate so you have to go with them however they are usually honest! 91days tenure is usually btw 9.5% while 180 and 365 days are higher

Hello gurus in the house.
Please I will kindly to know if there is any difference between Money Market Fund & Treasury Bill. I have a mutual funds account with FBN CAPITAL & I have been thinking for weeks now weather to switch to shares trading or heritage fund or mortgage investment or online binary trade as well.
Please your advice is highly appreciated...
Thanks.

The yields are fast crashing as expected....

would be watching the secondary market for the next few days to see if there will be any better deals there...

anything below 13% is a no deal for me

I know of an investment house that has an investment vehicle paying 14%pa tax free. But you'll get your interest at the year end not before. Also, you cannot retrieve the cash at any time. I don't work for them but I invest with them. Is it okay to put up their name or is that some form of advertising?

The interest may be slightly less than that of TBills for similar period; Your interests accrue daily but not paid upfront; you can invest as low as 5k; you can redeem your investments after 30 days without any penalty.

The above applies mainly to the Money market funds. There may be slight variations with other MF types.
