Danycrusoe:

Am Not Saying Its A Bad Thing To Win The Competition But Most Of The Time When We Focus On Winning And We Fail To Win We Feel There Are No Talents In The Team Hence Their Failure, So They Are Discardee Without Looking For The Prospect And Potentials In The Team. Good Examples are The 2005,2011 u17 Teams

No body is saying we wont recognise and develop talents if they dnt win d WC. After all Mikel & Ogbuke's class of 2003 crashed out at d group stage.
However, for this U17 we are aiming at winning and dicovering talents.

Everything that has gone on in Nigerian football this past 2 weeks has been a blessing for team because they go into this tournament with little pressure, no one even had time to talk about them or compare them to the last set which would have been unfair. I see them doing just fine. I don't believe in win or die for kids but I just hope they play with passion and pride for their nation. God bless those boys sef.

I Saw The Words Of The English U-17 Coach Today On Goal, And What I Realized Was That Those Guys Dont Take Winning The Cadet Championship Serious Rather TheY See It As An Avenue To Train And Prepare Those Young Lads Gain Experience In Preparing Them For The Future. Thankfully Nigeria Is Starting To Share The Same View
bro don't mind him, he just said that because they will go Nowhere in this competition (no pun intended), deep In their hearts they want to win it, and they came to play to win d trophy.

Ighalo Subdued As Arsenal Trounce Watford
[/size]
Odion Ighalo failed to add to his five Premier League goals on Saturday as Arsenal thrashed Watford 3-0 at Vicarage Road.
Alexis Sanchez scored his 10th goal in six games for club and country, while Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey added the others as the Gunners scored thrice in the second half.
Troy Deeney had two chances in the first half to give Watford the lead, with his first effort from outside the box saved by Petr Cech while he took too much time in the box with his second, allowing the Arsenal defence to steal the ball off his toes.
Ramsey then had an excellent opportunity to put his team in front after Sanchez found the midfielder at the back post but he could not squeeze the ball past Heurelho Gomes.
Watford top scorer Ighalo was then put through on goal just before the break but the Super Eagles star scuffed a tame shot into the grateful arms of Cech.
Arsenal took the lead in the second half after Sanchez led a counter attack that fell to Mesut Ozil, who was fouled before shooting but the ball fell to the Chilean’s feet and he stroked the ball into the back of the net. The Gunners scored a second five minutes later, with Ozil finding substitute Olivier Giroud in space six yards out and the Frenchman fired his shot into the roof of the goal. Ramsey then made up for his earlier misses after Hector Bellerin made a marauding run into the Watford box before passing to the Welsh international and Ramsey’s deflected effort rolled into the net to make it 3-0. Giroud had the chance to double his own personal tally from a late corner but Gomes was equal to the Arsenal striker’s strong header. The win lifts Arsene Wenger’s men back into second while Watford remain 14th in the Premier League table.

The 2013 set really set a high benchmark. Very early to say, but the current match I'm watching inspires no hope.

The Americans seems to be more tactical than our boys. There movement on the ball is so classic. This present crop of U17 hmmmmmm

the team lacks pace, our final-third is nothing to write home about. We need to stop all this crossing wey no get direction.

These boys are just playing rubbish. someone keeps leaving his flank on the final third, their crosses are predictable and their pace is weak.

Forget benchmarks, this is just a bad team.
