The question F.G should ask themselves is "why are people still clamoring for this cause?" There cannot be true progress of a nation without genuine reconciliation, fairness, non_victimization, equality to all parties concerned. How many people are really proud to be Nigerians? How many people can die for Nigeria? What is the Nigerian dream(just like we have American dream). Who are our founding fathers....Are they men of integrity?
The hard fact is that 80 years from now, the next generation will still be clamouring for break-up which goes to show that the foundation of this country is wrong.

What the fukkk are you even saying?
Nigeria is not a nation because nobody is willing to die for Nigeria. Breaking this country can be a blessing in disguise for all parties.

Hypocrisy is when Buhari supports the independence of Palestinians but arrests Nnamdi Kanu for clamouring for Biafra

Buhari should do the needful and release the young man.

cc Lalasticlala

Although I have never liked his approach, I strongly believe this is injustice to the young man and to Nigeria! How many people has he killed? Is he amassing weapons? Nigeria is ridiculing itself, granting amnesty to terrorist groups, but has been arresting and killing unarmed, peaceful MASSOB members!

Life is not fair! Injustice somewhere is injustice everywhere. The table could turn tomorrow!! Give OBJ, IBB, Buhari, Danjuma, Abdulsalami, Atiku, Gowon and the other old military men 20 more years to live... what would Nigeria become after 20 years? Have we thought about unity, peace and progress? Have we thought about justice and an egalitarian society?

I like your approach to the subject, but I must humbly disagree. Nigeria as a country in design had some flaws some of which have been corrected. We've made some progress so far.
To decide if Nigeria really should be broken up we need to assess the reason behind clamour for its divide.
I am rational and I believe things haven't gotten to the point where we should even imagine this. The question of breaking up should be left to the next two generations who I believe would be in a better position to decide the fate of Nigeria.
The status quo is full of propaganda and false reportage, with a hint of dishonesty.

To say people are unwilling to die for Nigeria is right and wrong. I know people who daily put themselves at the forefront both military and civilians for the purpose of a better Nigeria. The population of such individuals are few but they exist.

Furthermore, if Nigerians were loyal to their States or even ethnic groups I think some level of development would've thrived at the local and state level. But the contrary is the reality. The truth is Nigerians are largely SELF SERVING, we have not just learnt the art of leadership and service. Our greed and servile attitude is what is pushing us towards extinction.

No matter how many structures you break Nigeria into, the current state of mind would dominate and transform the structure to its previous point. If Nigeria must survive and thrive, we must change our approach to life.

Good morning Nigeria, Africa, Earth.

I like your approach to your disagreement. But I still disagree.
First, Nigeria as a country in design had some flaws some of which have been corrected. We've made some progress so far. if the flaws have been corrected, why do people still agitate for freedom? Why did the southerners flee from the northern region during the last election? There was a threat of ethnic cleansing if PMB lost. (2011 comes to mind).

Second, We've made some progress so far. oh yes! But very slow progress compared with the huge resources at our disposal. Or simply put we have progressed backwards. What is the poverty rate again? What about the diversification of economy that has always been discussed since 1983. Are you okay with the income distribution in your country? Why do northerners still kill southerners/Christians over issues that happened in Denmark? Etc etc etc. Ghana doesn't have up to 1/20 of the resources available to us but your countrymen troop to their country in masses for higher education.

Third, . The question of breaking up should be left to the next two generations who I believe would be in a better position to decide the fate of Nigeria. . Again why should we leave this for our future generation to still tackle? We should leave them with solid foundation to become a reference point in Africa in terms of innovation and development. Not crisis of unity

Fourth, To say people are unwilling to die for Nigeria is right and wrong hey bro you need to wake up right now. I know most soldiers I discussed with who wanted to quit the nigerian army cos they were sent to Bornu. They simply remained because it's simply not allowed in the military. Most of them got into the military because of unemployment and not passion for the country. And they remain there because there's no way out. I also took you serious until you said that civilians are willing to die for Nigeria. Even armed policemen who are equally civilians go into hiding when they hear of robbery attack.

Conclusively, a nation divided cannot stand. We do not have the same value systems. While it's acceptable to marry a 10 year old girl in sokoto, it is a taboo in delta state. While it's okay to gulp one can of origin in phc, you can lose your hand for that in zamfara. Unity and love is highly needed before a country can make significant progress. The fact there is a federal character is a testament to the fact that we are struggling to be one.

The thing is these ugbo people should be granted a referendum, like in the case of Scotland by the United Kingdom. I swear, majority of those flat headed tribesmen will not vote to be seceded. All those your okrika, when e remain only una, how many of una go buy am from the seller. The red mud and gullies gracing your beautiful biafra and all good things that you enjoy here, Na then u go know say day don break. Yeye.
Red mud or soil is God's creation, if you have issue with that, go and confront God. And why do you want to be married to a red mud man by all means?

Many Twitter users in Nigeria are talking about #NnamdiKanu, the director of RadioBiafra, operated by people sympathetic to the campaign to create the breakaway state of Biafra.
A pro-Biafra group says Mr Kanu was arrested by Nigeria's secret police on Saturday,Vanguard newspaper reports. In July, Nigerian authorities banned the station and jammed its signal.Pro-secessionists in the south-east declared Biafra an independent state in 1967, but the military defeated them after athree-year civil war which claimed more than one million lives.
