Lol. Una hero Jonathan himself said it that the SW controls 55% of Nigeria's economy. cheesy

Excerpts:

“When Jimoh was talking about World Bank statistics of the poverty rate in regions in the country, he said South West has least in the country. In fact, Lagos and Ogun contributed almost 55 per cent of the economic activities.

http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/i-regret-emergence-of-tambuwal-as-speaker-jonathan/

And he wasn't lying when you consider the indices from Manufacturers Association of Nigeria's last report as follows:
The SW virtually controls/accounts for atleast 70% of industrial activity in Nigeria.

http://businessdayonline.com/2015/02/ogun-ikeja-top-manufacturers-investment-destinations-in-2014/

Ogun, Ikeja top manufacturers’ investment destinations in 2014

While Ogun, which is now Nigeria’s industrial hub, recorded N377 billion worth of investments within the period, Ikeja returned investments worth N39.86 billion.

Ogun State’s represents 78 percent of N483 billion worth of investments made in the whole of the manufacturing sector within the period under review, while Ikeja shares 8.3 percent.

“This has revealed that the majority of manufacturing investments were directed towards Ogun industrial axis, which consists of Otta, Agbara, Ibafo/Mowe and Shagamu industrial areas,” said MAN, in its latest January to July 2014 economic review.

....

The data further show investments in Kano/Sharada/Challawa as N19.75 billion and those of Oyo/Ondo/Osun/Ekiti as N19.2 billion within the period under review.

Anambra/Enugu that had N5.5 billion worth of investments.
while those of Imo/Abia were estimated at N309 million.

Southwest is the reason Nigeria still eXist today. We reunited the country in 1970 through Adekunle and Obasanjo. The region with the lowest number of illiterates thereby boosting the overall figure for the country else would have been 80 percent illiteracy rate if hausa and igbo were to constitute nigeria alone.
We demystify education which is still a mystery in some tribes.
At least we are not terrorists and no yoruba man will be a suicide bomber.

Besides, even Igbos depend on our seaports. cheesy Ask them why they prefer SW seaports to "Igweocha/PH", Warri and what's that other one again? Lol. Igbos would starve to death without importation of the mostly fake products that come in through SW ports since they can't do nothing else but trade for survival.

You are correct. In fact , you did it so well that it seems you prepared for this before. The question that OP should have asked is 'what is missing in SW?' because we have almost everything, little wonder we have always been ahead of them all. Remember the period of Regional Government?

South West is the only region that has everything needed for survival:

1. Good and fertile land for agriculture

2. Water bodies from Atlantic Ocean and Lagoon in Lagos to Ondo State sea that passes Ogun State.

3. The Most industrialized region from Ogun as the hub of companies to Lagos as the Head Offices of all the major cpmpanies.

4. Natural resources- Bitumen, Oil, Gas, Columbite, Limestone, Gold, etc

5. Best Brains in the country- Accountants, Lawyers, Doctors, Professors, Professionals and professional bodies, etc

6. Educational Tourism- Almost all the best universities in Nigeria are in the south west- University of Ibadan, Obafemi Awolowo University, UNILAG, etc More than half of over 120 universities in Nigeria are in the South West with Ogun having about 15 and other states having about 8 each or more;

7 Religion Tourism- All the big churches and Islamic sects are in the SW- RCCG, CAC, Celestial, C& S, Deeper Life, Mountain of Fire, Winners, Sword of the Spirit, Day Star, etc with only RCCG having more than 7 million during conventions and Congress. Islamic sects like NASFAT with a university in Oshogbo, etc.

etc.

Please tell me of a region that comes close because none is comparable.

OP, do you know that Lagos State Economy is bigger that the economies of over 40 countries in Africa?

And remember that Lagos is in the South West.

It controls the entry and exit from Nigeria generating trillions of Naira for the country in a year, among other reasons.

The last time I checked there are more cultists in the East and Niger Delta than SW. Must you buy a land in the SW, why talking about omoonile?

Economic reports still show SW as the best economy and least poverty rate, so where did you get your facts from about poverty rates here. You have forgotten that your youths will rather carry drugs or take to crime in the SE instead of doing anything meaningful?

It does not affect Lagos because Abuja, as the Capital of Nigeria, has been existing since 1991, (24 years now) yet Lagos remains Lagos.

Who God has blessed, no man can curse.

Remember also that even Lagos is building 2 more seaports and 1 more airport which by all standards will still be a preferred port for business people.

One seaport down south will render ur lagos useless. All we want is Biafra lets see how ur Lagos is going to strive without Biafrans.
Lagos is state made. No wonder they are so scared when they hear Biafra. Ur Lagos can only strive in a united Nigeria.
I laugh whenever i hear ''most educated'' the entire south west cannot march the educational achievements of Anambra people alone not to talk of the whole SE.
Back to lagos,Lagos is living on borrowed time.

Same way you guys claimed that making Enugu an international airport would render Lagos useless. A year later, they're complaining about lack of customers.

The SW also offers religious tolerance.

As an atheist, I tolerate other religion as long as it doesn't become harmful to another person's existence.

SW is a region where Muslim/Christianity (equaling half-half) can mingle. A Christian woman can marry a Muslim and no one will bat an eyelash.

For a peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance is important.
