I would like to recommend a book for all to read, or at least the first 3 chapters. It has been around for a while, actually since 1841.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megainvest: 10:05pm On Oct 24, 2015
Make no mistake about it; FBNH is likely to post a good result. What is driving FBNH price down is not poor performance but the fact that a great dividend is not expected this year.

Not just dividend, declining ROE,poor capital position, increase in impaired loans and resultant impairment charges.

The banks that gave loans to Oando are in a better position compared Oando. They can decide to put Oando into receivership, if this happen they can take-over the running of Oando or appoint managers who will run Oando, the essence this is to make sure thet recover their money. I am very sure Wale and his cohort will not want this to happen, they will ensure the loans are paid as at when due the people who will suffer are the shareholders. Wale will soon come to raise more funds from investors, it is really "a very long walk to freedom for shareholders of this company".

A good number of them have cleaned their books, Onasanya made a lot of mistakes at FBN but the board gave him a soft landing by allowing him to resign with effect from 1st January 2016. A new team will manage FBN from 2016, the market is waiting for their 3 quarter result.

ok but the banks will not give any thing to there shareholders befor they get there money back but what of if this banks cant raise there money back in five years? what will happen to there shareholders in that five years? and oando may own other company that is not banks two .
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by duni04(m): 11:10am On Oct 25, 2015
Why will oando go into receivership when they can simply dispose of some of their assets to offset their debts? I think the board just needs to make some tough calls and accept that the acquisitions they've made in recent years have been faulty, and probably sell them off. The assets they've borrowed money to acquire in recent years have'nt been as profitable as we all envisaged. I remember some people here were praising oando and Wale after the COP deal was consummated because we all thought we would easily offset the debts from d deal and start making profit. Nobody was looking at the US crude inventory charts. Lets just sell off d assets and return to profitability. Plus the NSE and SEC should start taking corporate governance and accountability in quoted companies serious. Its not enough to fine companies that delay their results. They can easily pay d fines and continue to hold on to the results, like Oando has done. Let's have stricter penalties for delayed results. To me Receivership is totally off the cards for Oando

But Oando is not the only customer, most of the banks have cleaned their books, the worst scenario is for the banks to take over the finance of Oando in order to recover their money. Wale will not allow the problems of Oando to degenerate to the embarasing situation of receivership.

I WONDER WHEN PEOPLE WILL LEARN. OANDO HAS CONTINUED TO BURN THE FINGERS OF LOCAL AND SMALL INVESTORS FOR SOME YEARS YET PEOPLE WILL NOT LEARN UNTIL THEY GET BURNT TOO. A STOCK SO HOPEFUL BUT AN OBVIOUS TRAP OF REGRET

Thank you for this post. Receivership or filing for insolvency are just the worst case scenario. Someone said the banks that financed the deals will also be in trouble, but I made him realise that the banks are in better position compared to Oando. Oando will surely pay back, except Wale wants Oando to go into receivership which will not be in favour of Wale and his cohort because they will lose control of the company's finance which is the koko.:........................... I dey church, we will talk latter.

Pay more attention to rise in impairments when the Q3 results are released.
Atlantic Energy's boss was picked up a day after D.Allison was arrested in the U.K

FBNH and Skye presently have over $400 million loan exposure to Atlantic energy. The amount ($400M) is over 4% of total NPL in Nigeria.

So here you are.... you have the figures... Do the math. smiley
