Leave this homie! Maybe he prefers how rooney UNDER DOES THINGS instead? Like that senseless cross field pass he sent from midfield to the assistant linesman when all his team mates where still jogging forward and had not gotten into their positions!

Yeah. Apart from that I think the instruction to players on that wing was to single-handedly create a chance when they get the ball. That's where Depay has been failing maybe. I could've thought wrong however

It's going to be a good clash. Both teams want a win badly and both managers need the 3 points. However with L'pool's attacking vigor the bridge might crumble again if Chelsea keep up with their lackadaisical displays.

anyone who says he prefers rooney to martial as a CF is a lunatic. martial would have kompany/otamendi ragged today. one of the reasons mata/herrera didn't have a good game was because rooney wasn't running the channels to create the space for the creators to operate.

martial would have stretched city's defence further back. no centre back likes a player running at them at full speed apart from smalling who completely destroyed walcott in the 2nd half against arsenal. even when rooney wasn't this horrible, he was mostly kompany's bïtch.

there's no moral justification for LVG to play rooney. he has consistently been the worst player in our squad this season. the front four of martial, mata, memphis & herrera would have suited us better particularly towards the end of the game.......if it's true rooney has a "must play" clause in his contract then LVG's hands are tied!

Smalling and Jones are our best CB pairing. The earlier we allow them to develop the better. They have not lost a game together since last season.

Meanwhile, its pretty obvious our best attacking plays coincided wit the inclusion of Martial into the team. We averaged three goals a match in 85% of our matches in September.

And its pretty obvious dat since Martial's been shunted down to the left wing and Rooney played up front, we've struggled to score goals. Scoring 4 in 4 matches so far this and averaging 3 goals in 25% of matches so far this October.

The sooner we push Martial back to CF and do away with Rooney, the sooner we can start finding the net again.

i have also asked the same question. that's why i think LvG is insane cuz even Mata make runs into the middle with Herrera drifting out to create some sort of confusion but the other wing is just static - makes little sense & its definitely according to Mr. Philo's instructions.

the man no dey try some times. even Rooney on the left with Martial in the middle makes better sense except there's something else we don't know in public.

Are you telling me that Martial would`ve been anonymous the way Rooney was? Didn`t you see number of Martial`s take ons? He would`ve been constatly attacking them which might have created something different. He would`ve offered something different for them to think about. Rooney didn`t muster anything against their defence.

Martial take on was that high because he mainly faced Sagna and whichever help defender city throws at him if he played as a CF otamendi and kompany go be like him 2nd skin.
My point is simple.
Martial would've done better than rooney but considering our lack of attacking option martial has to continue playing from that position until young is fit or Memphis shows some promise.
