The Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria Stock Exchange and Pension Commission, should be please come to the aid of shareholders by making sure that Corporate governance becomes the other of the day in Corporate Nigeria. Pension Fund Administrators have invested in some of the companies that have issues with Corporate governance. PENCOM should make sure that Pension Fund Administrators have a representative on the boards of companies where they have invested workers fund in. We do not want a situation whereby workers and pensioners retirement funds will be in jeopardy.
We need a culture of good corporate governance in all the business organisations in Nigeria. Therefore individual and institutional investors should make sure that the activities of our managers and directors are guided by the principles of corporate governance, which are listed below.
• Rights of shareholders and equitable treatment of shareholders.
• Having the interests of the stakeholders e.g. employees, investors, suppliers, creditors, local communities, customers and policy makers.
• Roles and responsibilities of the board.
• Integrity and ethical behaviour by management.
• Disclosure and transparency.
When our managers and leaders are guided by these principles, things will truly change for the better in Corporate Nigeria, Stock Exchange and the nation as a whole.

Na waoh! See as oando take tidy myjoy enter voice mail. Chai, with his level of optimism and positivity I doubted he would not know his way around so as not to be hit! I really miss his comments here, giving us hope when all seemed bleak ! Although he's stylishly back, its just a matter of time he'll be back with his comments. NSE and Nsempa could be addictive you know!

Smart people understand why he disabled his account. He did that to erase the audit trail of all his overly optimistic calls on Oando and other stocks. If he hadnt done that, many of you would have dug into his past posts and you know too well the outcome.

Well,if you ask me ,I dont think he has ever bought a stock in his life grin , he always sounds like someone who has nothing at stake and nothing to loose. There is a reason why the word BUY,HOLD and SELL exists. This is money we are talking about, not cowries.

Bash someone who sits & snaps pics beside the First Lady in a helo?

You must be kidding!
When someone says bash it doesn't literally have to be the physical blows. In this era of technology you can now use various social media platforms to air your grievances. So many people have been bashing him on several social media platform that he is currently feeling the heat but he still needs more bashing. smiley

I hope you understand now?

MyJoy don't mind them jare, i personally think he is nice person maybe too optimistic, but he did not force people to buy stock. Purchasing shares is a serious business there is no free lunch DYOR research anytime you buy share. If anybody gives you a tip make sure you carry out enough research yourself. There are sharks everywhere even in UK and US who are after your money,Investors in Alternative Market in London (AIM) lose 90% of their money after IPO.Don't play with what you cannot afford to lose DYOR.

In my years of investment I have made losses but never felt the way I feel right now with the Oando loss. I feel like I was scammed. Dunno how to describe the feeling... WT and his cohorts have no conscience

Please tell us. cheesy
My ears are wide open

The breach of the investing public trust by Oando first started by the systematic takeover of the Board.

Principled (hence 'uncooperative') voices were first removed to be replaced by lackeys. The open fight drama at the PH AGM in 2007 between WT on the one hand and Jite Okoloko on the other signaled the end of corporate governance in the company. Simply compare the members pre-2007 & post 2007 to see the stark contrast.

What would follow is the 'outsourcing' of juicy units of the company to an unknown, inexperienced and just incorporated company called TSL. Oando Aviation (dollar-denominated biz) supply of products within Lagos and environs (very lucrative), PH jetties, trading, et.c were thus carved out.

The so-called Shareholders Associations, bunch of self-centered piranhas are also to blame. Once settled, what do you think happens in the pre-AGM cocktails? These hungry desperados are the ones who silence true agitated voices at AGMs, mere charades designed to fool only the gullible.

As in banks, there should be a term limit for CEOs of publicly quoted entities. This will arrest to some extent, the abuses that lead to this kind of scandals.

The problem with O and O is not the falling crude oil price, because most local oil marketing survive on local consumption aka Oil Subsidy

But-

. huge debt ($485M)

.Intelligible assets

.Administrative cost

.Unethical management

.Sleeping SEC/NSE

I think it's just laziness that would let you blame myjoy for your loss...( just thinking differently).

Why? Because, i believe we are all learned and informed to be swayed by an anonymous personae online. Any stock you buy or sell should be at your own discretion. Yes i agree he misled people, but that was to those who CHOSE to be misled. I am in Oando with money i sleep with two eyes shut, and i wont blame Myjoy for my buy decision.

My opinion.

Evansmed is going to car park. Low volume and illiquidity make both stocks unattractive to investors.
