FFK making Kwakwanso important. Ignore the former governor who has corruption/stealing case to answer. What you should do and all state n traditional leaders should do should talk about fighting corruption and improving the life of their ppl and standard of living. Those we call gov, senators from the south west should stop stealing/corruption then ppl in Nigeria will respect us and we can talk n make sense and ppl will listen.
Tell me which SW leader is not corrupt/thief? But in the North the country can sing Buhari not just the north what a shame to the SW and other parts. Let's fight the right fight in the SW, fight corruption/stealing from the top down.

Corruption and stealing is entirely anothet thing. I believe these Fulani cattle rearers issue should be dealt with. Have you 4gotten when Buhari said, why are u people killing my own people ?
This is not right and it should be addressed. I can assure you that Buhari does not care at all.

Let me start by asserting my yorubaness, if there is any word like that, my username says a lot about who i am and if you prefer you can check my profile. Firstly i will like to point out that what dialogue has not achieved war can never never get it done. What Mr Kwankwaso suggested in his presentation is the best solution to the situation we have found ourselves today. I belong to a society (THE INNER CIRCLE) in my university days in ibadan and our creed is "by chance u are made brothers but by choice u make friends" we are here in this geographic entity Nigeria and it is our choice to make it work. Within a family there are several variations of the same genetic composition and hence no two individuals behave the same way. Can we then go ahead to do a forensic analysis of the peace or otherwise that exist within the family. The most apropriate answer is compromise. How this is then achieved can best be attributed to education. Let me take the issue of peace. The man has thru education both formal or otherwise realize that the other man is his other half and the best thing to do is to accept him with both flaws and otherwise. In the case of the other side of peace, thru education both formal or informal he has taken a stand that maybe detrimental to the society and that is his belief except something very concrete is done to correct this. Now going back to Mr Fani Kayodes fanning of war to correct the excess of the fulani cattle rearers, does 2 wrongs make a right, has war ever ever settle any dispute, please observe the recent uprising about Biafra. With war u only conquer people but you dont change thier passion and passion is like a festering wound it will be there for ever. Its quite easy to fan the embers of war on the pages of newspaper but the consequencies is more devastating than what one can ever thought of. Serving as a youth corper in old Imo state in 1990 the impact of 1966-1970 civil war was still very evident. Yoruba has a saying "eni ija oba lonperae lokurin" translated literarily means its you thst have not seen war that clamours for it. If i may ask where was Mr Fani Kayode during the civil war, i bet he was well tucked away safe inthe UK. What he is insinuating now, if paraventure happens, he has visas for family and most especially his beautiful girlfriend with wish he elopes to a safe haven. Who bears d brunt? We the defenseless citizen. Secondly, he made reference to chief Olu Falaes kidnap. I am so glad that the perpetrators have been arrested and they all attested to the greed that fanned thier criminal intentions. I want to ask are there no criminals worse than this from other part of the country? From tnier confession they never knew who thier abductee was. It was thier greed that propelled them to carry pitthier nefarious activity. Now let us critically asses the root cause of all this kidnapping, cultisim, armed robbrey etc. Is it not because of the unnessary flouting of wealth by people who are suppose to set good example. How can one explain the unsatiable splash of Range Rover sport by an elderly man who is above 50 on a girl that is less than 30. How do you expect her peers who has just graduated from schools to think. You can not ever ever sow maize qnd expect to reap cassave. What you have sown shall ye reap. Billions of naira pillfered away by our leaders Mr Kayode inclusive could so well have bought Nigerian youths education that can make us distinguish between right and wrong. Now coming to the fulani herdsmen problem, i will lay a substantial blame to thier leaders in the north who instead of giving them education has preferred to retain the almajiri culture, but can we the yorubas blame God for situating us in this entity called Nigeria. No, its not by our choice but what can we do? With education and understanding we can peacefully coexist. I watched a documentary about cattle rearing in kenya where the cattle are reared on barley planted on virtual soil. This may sound so difficult but is achieveable. I am so sure what mrkwankwso istalking about is education that will foster a peaceful coexistence of Nigerian
Guy,abeg save this your unnecessary epistle cos no one is going to read it.you just expended THE GRAMMAR THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN USED IN WRITING 2 PHILOSOPHY PAPERS on a very straightforward issue(kwankwaso insulting yorubas ontop yorubaland).

Is the same story in SE..

Enugu women on Tuesday called on the State government to send Fulani herdsmen packing from the State.

The angry women, who stormed the State House of Assembly in their number, said the herdsmen were engaging in serial rape of women.

They carried placards, which read: “Fulani herdsmen are killing our men with AK 47′; ‘All we are saying is, Fulani, leave our farmlands’ ‘They butchered two men at Eke’ ‘Stop robbing us at the high ways’ ‘Stop raping our women.”

[Women and youths of Irete Community in Owerri West Local Government of Imo State numbering over 300 yesterday protested the incessant rape of women and destruction of economic crops by Fulani herdsmen who have overrun community’s farmland.

It's enough to tell you the the Yourbas are d most liberal, intelligent, hospitable, resilient and educated in Nigeria today. And mind you Yorubas are not blood sucking demons like the other two tribes that at any little provocation, blood will flow. Well, I read the quote about the Igbo man. I don't want us to change the topic and start talking about tribes.
Truth be told, the Fulani herdsmen are menace to us. They are as menacing as feral pigs to Australia. The Igbos have their faults but the are not as irritating as these herdsmen. But if you want to look at it from the Igbo man's perspective, they have a point.

I'm unapologetically a "tribalist". But this is NOT the issue!

Nairaland has a standard or so we were made to believe that certain topics don't make FrontPage, and that's the problem here.

Talking to you ibos are like talking to the wall. What happened on Akure thread was different from this, and that was between Yoruba and ibos. This very thread was created by ibos to incite Yoruba and the Mods saw that before moving it to FrontPage.

If BIAFRA separate from Nigeria, The Hausa/Fulani will seize Yoruba land, they first of all invade Lagos and install emir as they did in Kwara and continue their conquest until they occupy all the land, fear of Igbos is what is making them to drawback now, when I was in the north they use to call few Yoruba people living there Baraleba.
You people like lying through your anus! Check your history properly and you will discover that it's only the Yorubas that have single handedly defeated the Fulanis in an all out war; usman Dan fodio and all his Fulani and fellow Islamic army were mercilessly defeated by the Yorubas when they tried to spread violently spread islam to the South after they have easily defeated the Hausas.

Usman and his remaining forces never recovered from that defeat the Yorubas handed them; as for Ilorin that most of you Igbos who are not children of history tend to mention in your argument was all about afonja an Ilorin Yoruba war general who planned a coup against his Oba( king ) with the support of his friend alimi a Fulani and he prevailed because afonja was a powerful war general who had lots of supporters but he won't have won if the Oba requested for other Yoruba kingdoms for help, likewise the full support afonja got from alimi gave afonja the victory over his Oba and he became king.

This afonja who forcefully made himself king gave alimi and his Fulani kinsmen free movement in Ilorin so as to compensate them but after some years alimi went to war with afonja and afonja after several months of doing battle against the Fulani requested for help from his Yoruba kinsmen who initially refused due to afonja treachery but they later sent troops but alas! It was late when they got close to Ilorin as news got to them that afonja is dead as a result of the defeat he suffered from the fulanis.

The Yoruba troops had to return because the person who of afonja who they see as a betrayal is dead though they tried to later help him due to the Yoruba factor but it's not worth it again since he is dead.

Let me state this; the Fulani only installed a ruler in Ilorin which is just one town in kwara state as they couldn't spreed their testicles outside Ilorin due to the other Yoruba towns and villages coming together as one.

Let me state that the Yorubas are known to be seasoned professional warriors who have fought several other tribes before the British and some Yoruba kingdoms also fought the British but the British only won when they brought in their war ships which shelled those Yoruba kingdoms into submission.

Let me ask you the Igbos, how many wars have you ever fought & won? Have you ever won any war against another tribe before the British came or even when they came to colonize present day Nigeria?

The answer is capital NO.

Now let analysis what kwankwanso actually said, he tried to persuade the Yorubas not to see the Fulanis as their enemies because the Fulanis are mostly illiterates who seem not to understand what the law of the land say on grazing; those who said he mentioned shut up are simply economical with the truth as we all know that its even the igbos who are the main people clamouring for secession and it might be a jibe at them.

Let me state that the Fulani can never win a war against the Yorubas even if they get all the support of all their allies; they all know that it will lead to a Yoruba victory which will then lead to the division of Nigeria as you the Igbos and other tribes who are secretly seeking for Nigeria to divide since they don't want to go to war as they are not sure which side the Yorubas will support if another war breaks out.

No tribe can or will trick the Yorubas to go to war so that they can use such to get what they term as freedom and I will say to such tribes; fight your own war & we will fight our own war if any arises and several clashes that took place with we the Yorubas in modern time from kwara to Lagos, Ogun to Oyo, Ondo state & even the support we gave our cousins show that we are very capable in terms of holding our own without forming any alliance with other tribes.

Let the truth be known, only 2 tribes can divide Nigeria without bloodshed and they are the:

1.The Hausas.

2. We the Yorubas.

If any of the 2 make up their mind that they have enough of Nigeria, then that's the end but if not; any other thing na joke.

Are you new to nairaland? Go and check out the thread on Deji of Akure banning Eze ndigbo, or threads about Igbo fraudsters apprehended by law enforcement agents, and see the comments of Yorubas.

The truth however is that we southerners are busy fighting ourselves, while our common enemy (the northerners) are busy feasting on our division and dealing heavy blows on us. Our emancipation will only come the day we decide to unite together against the forces of the north.

@ennydoc yorubas generally do not see hausas as enemies. Dt is d problem. Igbos do & they believe yorubas should. Every story dt says anything abt buhari hating tinubu, they jump on in order to preach dt gospel of hate. Its not going to work dt way. And those dt think it will are fools. Yorubas will feel bad abt it & forget by tommorrow morning. All dt d APC supporters need to see is a picture of tinubu & kwankwaso smiling - it will be gone from their minds. Dt is d frustration of d igbos wt yorubas.

At this particular juncture yorubas see igbos more as enemies dn they see hausas. because d only thing dt unifies yorubas in purpose is cultural, not political. And dt is what igbos are attacking, not hausas. Obj assasinated bola ige (a loved yoruba leader), heaven did not fall in yorubaland. They talked abt it for 1 week & forgot abt it. Obj & tinubu can even smile at each other today after all dt went down btw them. Akintola backstabbed awo & he ended up in prison. The sky did not fall. All is fair in love and war. The same fayose dt rained fire & brimstone on fayemi is d same fayose dt said no ekiti senator shld block fayemis appointment. Its all politricks & power tussle. Afenifere & OPC proudly promoted jonathan during d election, they still didnt get a majority.

D same yorubas dt rioted & fought in d face of opposition & badmouthed IBB in d worldmedia till they unseated him, still went ahead and forgot abt it all after obj became president. All im saying is dt d unity ur calling for will not occur based on political sttmnts. And d pple u want yorubas to unite with are generally now looked upon wt disdain cos their utterances (which attack their culture) are seen as extremely reprehensible.

I have always said it and will continue to say it. one can hardly get heard in Nigeria when you continue to murmur with no action, and until a people take their destiny in their hands, they will be controlled by others. Violence begets violence. For every case of robbers, muideen, kidnapping etc carried out by fulani herdsmen, the local community affected should mobilise themselves, get the support of their sons and daughters in the Cities and carry out counter attacks on any fulany herdsmen on sight and their cattles, prepare for reprisal attacks from them. By the time this happens in two to three communities, the federal goverment will intervene.

Like I rightly said yesterday, The South West and South East abandoned the animal that insulted them and started to fight themselves here.

Have you ever seen someone from North West abusing someone from North Central here?

I am aware of the diversity in cultures of the yoruba and Igbos but if we keep fighting each other everywhere, the north will soon invade us both and before you know it, your children will become muslims.

Just to get at Igbos, the west installed a well known religious and tribal fanatic as President and all of a sudden, El Rufai and Kwankwaso became powerful to the extent of insulting everyone.

We are already in for this. It's not late, we the youths can find a common ground to unite because we are heading towards the same hatred our fathers planted in us.
