Try to order it again & be sure you know your bank's rate so you're certain you have its naira equivalence in your account.
It could have been due to network issues too.
Thank you. Yea actually I received an email from paypal with transaction I'd, however, in my GRE account it has not shown that I made such an order. Again, the paypal account writes pending that it takes up to 4 days to complete
Has any one gotten such experience before?

Just to remain in status, without having to be illegal here even for a day, since I'm done with my course. Is there any other status better than that?
Try H1b visa. That's much Better since u have finished your course, ok

Since you are not done with your 'course', then you should be eligible for F-1 visa extension. Check with your international office.

Quick question guys

If one gets an assistantship that waives over 50 percent of the tuition plus stipends, does it make any sense accepting the offer with the hope that you could work your ass off & save for the rest?

Working would probably just do enough to cover living expenses...How much is the stipend? Can it cover the other half of your tuition?

I would strongly advise that you work on getting the other 50 taken care of if you don't have the funds at the moment. There are restrictions to the kind of jobs you can do 'working your ass off' as well as the number of hours you can work as an international student.

Seems you don't understand that as an F-1 student you can only work maximum 20hrs per week? There is nothing like working your ass out. Education is not beans here, even the 20hrs can have an effect on your studies.

He cannot apply for H1b visa, only a company who employs him can apply on his behalf which means he needs to get a job with a company willing to sponsor him first.

I wouldn't even go into the difficulty of getting the visa assuming he gets an employer with the issue annual limits which are not enough for the number of applicants.

Hello Guys,

Having read through this thread for weeks, I seek for assistance to these issues on my mind

I graduated from university 2012, and finished service October 2013, During my service year I served as a graduate assistant lecturer in a federal institution. In 2013, I was invited for a conference in New orleans, applied for visa ,dressed in my khaki to the embassy. unfortunately i was denied, may be because The consular asked for a reference letter from my Place of primary assignment, but the School management refused to give me the recommendation letter before the interview, their excuse was that, Mr corper, the institution does not give recommendation letters to serving corp members for such purposes.

From 2013 till date, I have not been gainfully employed, though I get to manage the family firms, more like free lance job, my experiences before and after nysc are:

Sales manager{In my uncle's firm}2012
Graduate assistant Lecturer{ Nysc}2012/13
Administrative officer{ dad's firm} 2013/14
Manager,In a travel and tours firm{ not related to student visa ooo} though i got this offer recently, August 2015
Note: All of these no b free i dey work oo....lol

I received a positive review of my application for masters programme on friday, for Spring term 2016, and was told my 1-20 will be issued shortly, meanwhile i sought for waiver for English proficiency test which was granted on the grounds of my work experience and my university {Nigeria} issued a cover letter, stating that i studied, and took exams in English language.

On this thread, I have come across several posts about GRE ,GMAT SCORES to be presented during the visa interview, Distinguished guys, I hope that wont be a challenge for me during the interview?

My DAD and UNCLE are my sponsors, SHOULD I also ADD MY STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT while going for the interview?

What other documents is needed?

I look forward to your contributions and advice please....Thanks
grin

Hello guys,

Great work you guys are doing....

I want to ask, what happens if a student has all the money he needs for his school fees, then something out of his control happens along the line and the money got spent on other things and the guy has gone to resume in the U.S. what happens to him? Does he get deported or what??

Aiit boss...patiently awaiting his recommendations!

Sorry for the awfully late response.

For EE, these schools are highly recommended:

University of Texas Austin
University of Houston, Texas
University of Texas, Dallas
University of Illinois Chicago.

Good evening brothers and sisters in the house, have been following your comments on the usa-visa enquiries part 8, am really overwhelmed with the vast knowledge you guys have amassed. presently am a final year student of Electrical/Electronics Engineering doing my final year project with a CGPA of 4.40 presently and intending to do my masters programme in the united states..am begging you to please give me full tutoring on how to go about the masters programme and which university is best fit for my match..
Cc: bigfrancis21, slimmy and prof

Your 4.40 CGPA would land you at a GPA of at least 3.6 on the US 4-point scale, which is considered a first class (starting from 3.5/4.0). With a GRE score of at least 310, you do stand a very good chance of admission and funding at the schools I have recommended for you.

He should face the consequence of coming to US without money

Look for a better story. I'm sure the school you applied waived the TOEFL because you're from Nigeria. The story you painted there is not necessary. Go and write GRE and if you think you don't fine. Whatever works for you.

I was not the one that asked that question, but I suggested to the poster that he can proceed and get the h1b visa. I only suggested that to him and that I know some couple of people who got it that way.
I wasn't the one who asked the question. Someone else did, and I contributed to the best of my knowledge.

Greetings to u all
I have been following this forum for a while but decided to ask for an advice from u all
1 am a 32 years old Businessman, and I own my own company here in Lagos. I am married and a child who is just 3 years old.
My wife and kid got a US visit visa about 6 months ago and they used it to travel and up till now, my wife and kid have not returned back to Nigeria. She told me she will not return back to Nigeria that she is adjusting her status, and that it could take her 5 years to do that as I don't understand what that means.
However, I have a valid visa too, B2, which will expire next month, but I hardly have time to travel, as I don't want to leave my company. Since my wife said I should come over to her in the US to see her if I desire to see my little son, won't I be faced with some questions at the POE, and don't u think I can be sent back to Nigeria at the POE due to the sins of my wife and kid overstaying in the US. And also, what does Adjustment of Status that my wife said means?
