Auditor Says Oando “Contravened” CAMA By Paying Dividend Out Of Insufficient Reserves “the company paid dividend from unaudited reserves as at June 2014. However, as at year-end there was insufficient reserves to absorb the dividend paid. This is a contravention of the provisions of Section 379 of the Company and Allied Matters Act 1990…” Section 379 of CAMA says; (1) A company may, in general meeting, declare dividends in respect of any year or other period only on the recommendation of the directors. (2) The company may from time to time pay to the members such interim dividends as appear to the directors to be justified by the profits of the company. (3) The general meeting shall have power to decrease the amount of dividend recommended by the directors, but shall have no power to increase the recommended amount. (4) Where the recommendation of the directors of a company with respect to the declaration of a dividend is varied in accordance with subsection (3) of this section by the company in general meeting, a statement to that effect shall be included in the relevant annual return. (5) Subject to the provisions of this Decree, dividends shall be payable to the shareholders only out of the distributable profits of the company http://nairametrics.com/auditor-says-oando-contravened-cama-by-paying-dividend-out-of-insufficient-reserves/ |

The U.S. plans to sell millions of barrels of crude oil from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve from 2018 until 2025 under a budget deal reached on Monday night by the White House and top lawmakers from both parties. The proposed sale, included in a bill posted on the White House website, equates to more than 8 percent of the 695 million barrels of reserves, held in four sites along the Gulf of Mexico coast. Sales are due to start in 2018 at an annual rate of 5 million barrels, rising to 10 million by 2023 and totaling 58 million barrels by the end of the period. The proceeds will be “deposited into the general fund of the Treasury,” according to the bill. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-10-27/u-s-plans-to-sell-down-strategic-oil-reserve-to-raise-cash DOUBLE WAHALA FOR DEAD BODY AND THE OWNER OF DEAD BODY -Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

ihedioramma: oga, i bought at 10:00 and sold at 9:11 few days after. The next day after i sold, the abracadaabra happened and it moved up sharply before the result came out. At the time i almost was cursing my luck, but now, am glad i cut my losses the time i did. at times its better to cut your losses, however, the irony now is that it will be hard to do so cus no one is even coming near it with a long pole. 3 Likes |

About 42 million Oando shares were on full offer on Tuesday as investors lined up to off load the stocks amidst the historical loss recently reported by the company. The company in its 9 months results released earlier reported another loss before tax of about N52billion adding to the woes incurred by shareholders. The share price closed at N8.13 representing a 9.6% drop. Oando has now lost 49.5% year to date. The company had its earnings call yesterday (Monday) as investors listened in keenly to what the management had to say regarding the results. The call by our estimates was one of the most anticipated earnings call lasting about an hour and a half. Investors seem not convinced by all the positive vibes coming from the CEO as the shares remained on full offer all through trading on Tuesday. Out of the 42 million shares on offer only about 309, 250 volumes were treated. [http://nairametrics.com/no-buyer-42-million-oando-shares-on-full-offer/] |

OBAGADAFFI:Hmmmm....I guess NSE and SEC saw our rants all over social media (twitter, Facebook etc)....Went ahead to contact some friend in NSE and SEC...Also made wale tinubu feel the heat small via twitter....But it won't end here as wale has to be put in his rightful place...This is just too much. |

Elai147:You are right but not fully......Myjoy still shares in the blame and I will let you know why. Apart from his over optimistic stance, he said and I vividly remember that he said he saw oando result which is ready and that it is not that bad.....what the heck?? This is the worst result I have ever seen so it is either myjoy didn't have that insider connection and didn't see the result as claimed( meaning that he lied) or he saw the result(or at least had knowledge about the bad result) and had some reasons best known to him for not saying the true state of oando result on time. Thereby misleading the people to hold on to the stock knowing fully well that he has a lot of fans/loyalist here. I don't have an issue with myjoy as he is my good friend but he has to come out one day to clear this issue. Also, this is a good sign as it will now make us to carry out our home work and make proper analysis rather than wait to be spoon fed from someone that doesn't have any analytical or fundamental backing.....Also this will greatly reduce the level of sentimental and emotional investment that has swayed us over the years... This is. my 5kobo contribution 2 Likes 1 Share |
