Please be serious can the BVN REGISTRATION be done after the deadline.

For existing account you will have to pay for bvn registration after the due date, since you have to stress their data.this was stated on channels news yesterday banks had meet yesterday that was their conculsion.the fee was not stated by the end of next week they will have that sorted out for now the account will be frozen

check dictionary for meaning of deadline. if they can sue Mtn 5bn without remorse, blocking a mere Nigerian's account for not obeying the law shouldn't be a problem.
But they should know that there are lots of people outside the country who are not privileged to meet the deadline. They should better work a way out.

I doubt if you will get correct answers on an online forum on a serious subject like this (except the money your sister have have in the account Is not too big).

Why not just walk into any bank and make the inquiry from their costumer care rep?

Your account will be temporarily inoperable pending registration for the bvn..
Op, your aunt's money is safe but withdrawals even via atm is impossible before registration.

You are the first to make sense.

There are outlets outside d country where BVN Reg can be done, at least I can talk for UBA, but dunno for other banks... Talking about whether it can still be done, yes it can. accounts without it will probably be liened until BVN is linked to it.... So I think

Lol... my brother stays in texas, my sister stays in indian, the only bvn registration spot is in washington. E no fit work nah!!

it is very simple, there are two ways, the expensive way or the cheap way..
1 expensive way... You just save like 300k and import. A pedigree chihuahua from Fiji
2. Take a trip to calabar, there is one dog meat joint you can't miss it, it is called mama white!sharp corner... You can buy a pre slaughtered BINGO and present it to your GF (wawa) and there is the solution.... Your GF has the doggy you and only you gave her .....

There are four things that are likely to happen when the deadline expires:
1. CBN fines bank customers who haven't registered.
2. CBN fines banks who have customers that have not yet registered.
3. CBN extends the deadline.
4. Those who haven't registered might lose their money in their accounts.

Since this is Nigeria, I'm betting on either 1 or 3 in the ratio of 30:70. My predictions are usually correctsmiley.

No one is losing money, you will be barred from using any of its online services, such as atm, pos among others, and you only will have access to your money by withdrawing directly from your bank, thus you will b forced to register

She opened the account exactly one year ago when the issue of BVN has not come up.

I believe she opened the account so as to have direct access to it. But then I used my phone number for the sms alert.

This is why I am worried knowing fully she had consistently put some money there for her upkeep while in naija.

Only if she trusted me and put her money in my account all this problem will not have been an issue.

It is just a few hours now for the expiration of deadline for the BVN registration. I have registered for mine, but my sister who resides overseas is yet to register and will be coming home in a month's time. Having saved some money towards her visit in her FirstBank account and yet to be registered, I feel so much worried as the deadline closes by.

The question on my mind has been, what will happen to millions of accounts that are yet to be registered before the deadline, and what hope do such account holders have thereafter. Let's share our knowledge on this.

As far as I understood both Skye and GTBs coded messages, you will have limited availability to your account. Simply visiting the bank should reset your access once you comply.

It's a most idiotic initiative.

Your predictions are usually correct. Can you predict what Tinubu will do if buhari publicly tell him to go to hell, that he doesnt want his say or opinions in his administration. Can you?

Yes this was my view before but I saw a warning on NTA that over 23 million accounts will be frozen as a result of non registration.

The only thing i believe bank will do is stop you from withdrawing from the account till u get your bvn number, but you can pay in but can't withdraw... That's all.
