Hi portsmouth, 1. Do you get told you need to leave the country by a specific date? Yes on my hubby passport, he was told to leave before 27th November (within 30 days) 2. Do you think i should get hubby to get an affidavit and Police check too? (applying in a week or two) It is not compulsory, my husband has only got the copy of the checklist, but because they needed an original, and not the copy, that was the reason he was told to go and do all those stuff, e.g. affidavit, and police report...it's not compulsory My husband was told at the TLS to get the police report just to declare it officially Portsmouth86: |

Hi Ports, The affidavit and police report is not compulsory...my husband was told to do it because he did not have the original copy of the checklist, only had the photocopy...so they wanted to be sure that it's official And yes he was told to leave the country within 30days, before 27th November... Finally, yes o, I'm so much happy...he's been given 3years visa Portsmouth86: |

ToyinNick:Wow! Am so happy for you. Congratulations! I am also going for my Biometrics on Monday! I put in Nov 18 as date I want to travel. Am so apprehensive if they would refuse my visa because of how close the date is. But reading your testimony now, am quite relieved. I am applying for an EEA family permit. And my hubby should be in the country this weekend to see me and also to accompany me to the TLS. I have been wondering what sort of questions they ask during the interview, ...now am reading in ypur post that they don't hold interviews for now? Wow! I hope I get to be told the same thing. Wish me luck sis. I can't wait to finally go join my hubby in UK. Pls can you help with the documents u submitted? Also his birth certificate, is it the one from the hospital or National Population, that he submitted? Thanks sis. |

hi help needed: On the personal Details form (VAF4A) Part 1: On which date do you wish to travel to the UK? what do i put for this? Hubby applying for spouse so not sure what date to put. My birthday is 11th Dec could I put that? Part 2: Passport information Q 2.2 place of issue, this is not listed on my hubby's passport so do i just put Nigeria or Lagos, Nigeria? thank you in advance ![]() |
| Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by newbie715: 12:43pm On Oct 30, 2015 |
Portsmouth86:Hi Karen, First Question: you are supposed to put a tentative date that he will travel by but from my personal experience, the date I filled in had passed before my visa was approved, so I don't think it such a big deal so Dec 11th isn't bad. Second Question: I am surprised that place of issue isn't on the passport, it's AUTHORITY, check what's written under AUTHORITY beside PLACE OF BIRTH Hope this helps Warm Regards |

Hi everyone, I Joined my family this weekend in the UK, thanks @justwise, Portsmouth86, Newbie75 for all your advices concerning the TB. I went through the immigration without stress. Although I was asked for the TB certificate, the immigration office was not interested in the expiring date, she only copied out the number of the tb on the white card. The next thing now is my timeline, which I need to give on this page. Thanks everyone that had contributed to this wonderful story. Winso26 |

Place of issue and authority is the same, just fill the same state in both, like if u get ur passport in ikoyi, you will fill ikoyi lagos in both place of issue and authority, hope that help. That's how I have been doing it, for my visit visa and my wife visa to Nigeria too |
| Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by newbie715: 8:43am On Nov 02, 2015 |
Portsmouth86:Hi Karen, Authority is place of issue, so for your hubby's passport, place of issue is ABEOKUTA. Warm Regards |

I Discovered that despite the UK site stating the visa fee is £956 is actually comes to approx £1067 with exchange rates then non sterling transaction/purchase fees for using UK bank cards/ credit cards, the same for the NHS surcharge comes out to be approx £636 so you need a total of about £1703 for both the visa and NHS fee, since the visa fees are in US dollars.(approx 578,168.50n @ 339.5 exchange rate) source azimo.com. I would imagine Nigerian banks also charge non Naira purchase and transaction fees, robbing puppets the home office you wuld think it being a UK visa it would be paid in £ not the US $ I found another site visa the gov website that then gives it to you in the dollar amount of $1501 just wanted to advise so any new applicants dont get caught short on any fees for the souse visa .Thank you |

Good day people. What do you advise for a Tier 4 study (General) visa that was not issued and not refused as well. Just got the passport today blank. No refusal notice, no visa stamped. It looks strange to me. Please your sincere response will be appreciated |
