God bless you Sir for telling this truth. I have banked with other banks for more than 20yrs without losing a kobo but just my less than one year eco bank service i have lost 15k to non reversal on atm withdrawal and the sourcy customer service ladies are telling me i should be thankful that many people have lost more that that, and i was like, is this what people suffer here. My Gt or sterling receptionist has never flaunt such guts

Typical Nigerian on social media who's got nothing to say but would rather not keep quiet.

OP like I said earlier, pls contact UBA via cfc@ubagroup.com and use "desperatem" as the subject of your email. You'll thank me later.

You'll also find out that those branch officers who handled this wrongly will be severely punished too. There are always a few bad apples in every basket. It is through reports like yours that they are identified and dealt with.

My mom banked with UBA and it was awfulI spoke from personal experience not with the desire to just say something. From the look of things, I am not the only one that has this oppinion.

ur card must have been slotted into d machine for such transaction to occur and it took u over one month to realise the difference on ur balance. I advice u take time and think of what might have happened.someone had ur card and password
you have spoken wisely.

I got a call from UBA head-office this evening. I was told the transaction was carried out on Access Bank ATM. They are glad Access bank could send the suspect footage today. I was told to come and look at the footage tomorrow.

@desperatem: You forgot to tell nairaland the outcome of your visit to the bank and who you saw in the footage.

This thread is five pages now. Some people might not be able to view the new update, that's why I created a separate thread for the new update. I hope our moderators can push the part 2 thread to the front page so everyone can view it.

I smell lies from your posts @desperetem. I work in a bank and whoever has access to your physical card, card details and PIN deserves your money. ATM transfer on an ATM terminal requires your physical card and PIN for transaction authentication and authorisation. You are either one good liar or just trying to scam the bank.

Your post about Stanbic IBTC Bank having less customers is a big fat lie.

You know nothing about the bank.

Seems you wanna compare the customers of stanbic ibtc to that of a popular commercial bank like gtb or uba...

For your information... I have been running an active stanbic account opened in ilorin since 2010....and another stanbic account opened in somolu Lagos in 2014.. So I know a little about them..

Even the tellers and the Carl care attendance knows me by name cos u have no queues there and nothing much for them to do than make you a priority like sterling will say " your one customer bank" cheesy

I love stanbic and have two accounts running with them presently smiley

Sorry Ops.. But it's obvious u must av been careless wit ur card at one time or d other either by using ur Atm in a busy Atm area, inputting ur pin and people on d queue can see wat u typed OR some one close to u had access to it and used it exactly wen u were not in town..I will advice u not to Use Atm on an account wia u av huge amount of money, av seen a similar situation wia a customer came to d bank to complain of fraudulent withdrawals from her account, and vowed to deal dem if dey don't produce her money dat her at was securely kept, but by d time dey investigated d footages, it was her son's picture dat appeared on d atm footages..

On Fake Alert issue - Fraudsters make use of bulk sms messages which looks like real bank sms & send to unsuspecting customers/biz men, u need to be wise especially as a biz man wen u get credit alert, pls always confirm from ur bank or better still confirm ur new Balance Tru d nearest Atm before u part with ur goods,
D truth is dat we should also play our part too in protecting our Atm cards, d bank can not always be liable. .
I pray dat d fraudster will be arrested if his details r released by d other bank, u will be amazed wen he confesses on how perpetuated d fraud - my opinion pls

In this case, it's either the OP was the one in the footage or one of his GFs that's why he is yet to tell us the outcome.

UBA is an efficient bank in fraud investigations. They may take a while but dey'll surely get you the facts no matter what.

I also work in a bank. Nobody, I mean nobody can do ATM transfer without your physical card and PIN and even when it's a Web transfer on quickteller, a token (OTP) is generated and sent to ur phone before the transaction is authorised.

So OP is a bloody liar and scam

You certainly do know much about the Banking OBSESSION... but very little about TECHNOLOGY!!!
You forgot your DATA-Base was designed by another..... I can't this SHI.....t any....m...

If anyone comments here again, it shouldn't be to tell us what the bank can or Cannot do!!!!!
Be Informed!!!!! PITY!!!!

Be careful not to TAG a complainant a LIAR till so PROVEN....

Bro, the bank can't investigate further than they did. since you have got all the facts, I will advice that you report to the EFCC and (if in Lagos)anti fraud unit at Glover road, Ikoyi. please do so through legal counsel.

Sorry once again, good luck.
He should put a petition to UBA Head office, copy the Manager of that particular branch & forward copy to the Director Banking Supervision, CBN. Trust me the story would change

The worst is their customer care and security!! UBA has asked me to leave the bank premises twice simply because I was waiting for a friend to complete a transaction. They treat their customers like trash!!

well I think this has to be reported to authorities cbn needs to find a way to manage these frauds. this same thing happened when I was a student but I was using intercontinental bank then. I was in my first so I did not have much. the customer care officer said the transaction was carried outon the machine I used most frequently so I must be the one who withdrew the money. another staff stealthily agreed to help me and two days later he started acting funny. I gave up and closed my account. I am trying to say that this will happen to anyone until CBN is aware and ready to control these fraud. thank God BVN is here to stay. we all know that there is no organization in nigeria that care about what its customers or patronizers pass through all they care about is the bottom line figures. and thank God for successive government who have refused to give tge citizenry a voice in the corporate world
bro wat are d step u took in closing ur bank account
