the 1st u-17 match of this tournament that am watching (relied on highlights for the previous matches) and am sorry I have to complain am not impressed at all :osimhen has a record to break and he is not even playing like that for the 1st 30 mins we had no shoot on target save an easy catch osimhen header, the midfield players are passing without looking the whole team is uncoordinated and mehn!! both wing backs are shitty players Mexican goal similar to the Croatian goal a wingback was rocked.
I have not seen any bamboozling tactics 4rm amunike cuz the players are playing without a style but anyway they have gradually grown into the game am expecting 2 more goals in the next half.
even tho its just 1 half but iheanacho set would be ahead of this naija u-17 like 3-0 in 45 mins #poor half
will be back after FT

The Mexican has really played well ,they could tamed the attacking prowess of Isimehn , but Nwakali and Okonkwo has shown a class , the future is bright , ...I could see a tactical play in future .taking advantage of setpieces , long ranges shorts , quality counter attacking football .

Congrats to the Golden Eaglets. Now it is time for them to prepare hard for the last round.

One more round boys, One more round.

The best two teams of the competition will face off in the finals. A true finals.

Once again Congrats Golden Eaglets, Coach Emmanuel Amunike and his crew.

I also missed the match. I was tied down and could not join the viewing center regularly but I stayed in touch. I hope I get a good clip of the game.

Now I understand why chukwueze didn't even start the opening game... He could go missing in games... He had an especially poor first half but came alive alittle during the second period... he could just become a di maria blowing hot and cold.... hope he become more consistent...

I saw 2 more goals and I got it.
I remember a nigga saying osimhen won't score 4rm open play broda u are on point.
I have already finished typing osimhen is a shitty striker before I realised he has scored 9 already but today he was whack sha.
nwakali z d star of this team ball dey e blood but seriously he should be banned 4rm shooting if its not a set piece, the amount of shots he wasted if converted to Akara go reach my full street do breakfast.
the defense turn to PS wey dem dey control dey just stood still and made dat Mexican guy the "new Messi"e just use dem shine chai!!!
guys shey dat our pk na dive sha? cuz I nur see wetin d mexico captain do.
okonkwo has potential but has to tone down the wayward shooting.
chukwueze is a nigga I love so much there was a pass he nearly gave dat was intercepted it was pure class and his "R2" ball that hit d bar I just dey imagine say na me dey knack my ps3 like dat (game dn spoil me sha lolz)
the 2nd half was an above average performance but totally d match was just an average performance

Naahh... he isn't greedy... this was a difficult game... He wasnt even getting into the central area, no thanks to the mexican's defense and lack of support from chukweze...

The eaglets placed themselves under unnecessary pressure by needlessly giving the balls away in dangerous areas... Mexico's second goal was a result of a complete defensive disaster.... guess the defenders were having a nap..
Re: All The News About The Golden Eaglets (U-17) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 2:19am On Nov 06, 2015
I do not think past games determine results so much. Especially, two different teams. I think the coming game will be more of a defence counter attacking strategy from Amunike. The Malians are good. These are the best teams of the competition.

It is the business end and I expect more cautious and a low scoring game.

Coach Amunike needs to drill Nwakali on his shots. If he can improve his accuracy, then we can be more cautious and hit from far.

Mali romp to U17 World Cup final

Mali U17's Boubacar Traore (left) equalised for Mali against Belgium on Thursday

Mali have reached the final of this year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile after they fought back from a goal down to beat Belgium 3-1.

It was the African champions first ever U17 World Cup final and they deserved their victory after both teams played out a scoreless draw in a group game.

Mali's historic victory means they will face the victors of the second semi-final between Mexico and Nigeria on Sunday, with Belgium facing the defeated side in the play-off for third place earlier the same day in Vina Del Mar.

The Europeans had taken the lead through Dante Rigo in the 16thminute, but Boubacar Traore's swift response after 22 minutes was followed by second half goals from Sidiki Maiga and Sekou Koita.

Napoleon55, you got the bit of Osimhen, but you got the scoreline wrong.

Anyway, bring on the African Champions against the Defending Champions.... after playing bearded men today, we no dey fear Mali.

As for our Mexican wives, we thank them for helping us with 4 more goals to increase our tally to 21

I pray Osimhen does not allow individual glory supersede team glory in the finals. You may be remembered for breaking a record, but even greater, is doing that as a team.

Nwakali, you have silenced doubters and proven yourself worthy of the MVP award your name sake lifted at the 2013 edition. Hopefully, you'll join your brother in City by next year.

Udoh, you may not get the Golden glove, but you're going to be a great goalie for Nigerian Super Eagles some day, like your big bro, Enyeama.

I wish the Golden Eaglets the best henceforth. Playing jaga-jaga football to the finals is awe-inspiring in its self grin grin

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets face Mali in U17 World Cup final

Nigeria will clash with Mali on Sunday in only the second All-African U17 World Cup final after they defeated Mexico 4-2 Friday night in Concepcion, Chile.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets also featured in the first all-African final in 1993 when they faced Ghana in the championship game in Japan.

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen also equaled the all-time goals record in the competition when he netted his ninth goal of the tournament from the penalty spot.

The Golden Eaglets also beat the babyEl Tritwice at the last tournament in UAE two years ago – winning a group game 6-1 before they stopped them 3-0 in the final.

Mexico deservedly led 1-0 through Kevin Magana's strike after a good work from the right wing by Lara, who beat Udochukwu Anamudu.

Golden Eaglets captain Kelechi Nwakali leveled scores for Nigeria with a superbly taken 25-yard free kick in the 35th minute.

Nigeria then took the lead for the first time in the game in the 43rd with a 20-yard cracker from Orji Okonkwo, who released a rocket shot after he cut in from the left wing.

However, Mexico made it 2-2 through a magical solo goal by Diego Cortes.
Oshinachi Ebere got on the scoreboard in the 67thminute, when his low shot from inside the box was helped home by the Mexico shot stopper.

Osimhen then tucked away a penalty kick in the 83rd minute after John Lazarus was upended inside the box. In the 72nd minute, Samuel Chukwueze crashed his effort against the post after he turned away from his marker and minutes later, Nwakali free kick was barely pushed away by the goalkeeper, before Osimhen was denied in the 77th minute from six yards out.

Lazarus is a hard worker... but it is clear he is easily picked out by fast and skillful opponents.... The fullbacks remain a cause for concern....

But I see Lazarus having a good game when chukwueze is on fire...

Let hope chukwueze step up at the finals

Nwakali had his best game.

Nigeria Set Up All African Final

Holders Nigeria have reached their second
consecutive final thanks to a thrilling 4-2 victory
against Mexico in Concepcion.
Mexico opened the scoring through Kevin
Magana, with stunning efforts from Kelechi
Nwakali and Orji Okwonkwo seeing the African
side ahead. Diego Cortes's remarkable solo
effort levelled matters, before Osinachi Ebere
and Victor Osimhen's late record-equalling
penalty saw the Golden Eaglets into an all-
African final against Mali.
Mexico controlled the ball in the opening stages
of the match, and took the lead early on. Kevin
Lara beat his man on the Mexican right and
delivered a teasing cross into the middle. Aguirre
tried to control with his chest, but Magana took
charge and fired home.
Emmanuel Amuneke's side began to grow into
the game, with Kelechi Nwakali hitting a low
drive from the edge of the Mexican penalty area
with his venomous drive stinging the palms of
Romero before the ball was cleared away.
The game see-sawed back Mexico's way, with a
free-kick from the Mexican left headed
goalwards by Jose Esquivel. The chance forced
a superb point blank stop by Akpan Udoh, onto
the crossbar and eventually cleared behind.
Nigeria rode their luck, with a couple of good
Mexican opportunities and after riding the storm,
managed to level things up thanks to the superb
technique of their captain. Nwakali lined up a
free-kick from around 25 yards, and curled a
perfect effort into the bottom left-hand corner.
Romero stood no chance.
Amuneke's charges sensed their opponents were
on the back foot, and Okwonkwo took advantage,
producing one of the moments of the tournament
to see his side ahead. He cut inside from the
left onto his right foot and thumped an effort in
off the crossbar.
After the break, Mexico took time to reassert
their rhythm after the shock of going behind.
Cortes then stepped up to score what must be
considered one of the best goals ever scored in
the Estadio Ester Roa. He picked up the ball on
the Mexican right just inside the Nigerian half
and proceeded to dribble past five players,
showing incredible close control before slotting
calmly past Udoh.
Nigeria were undeterred by Cortes's golazo
and struck back. Ebere found space on the
Nigerian right just inside the Mexican penalty
area after a long through ball. His right-footed
effort was too strong for Romero, who got a
hand to the strike but could not keep it out.
John Lazarus was taken down in the Mexican
penalty area, giving Osimhen the chance to
score his ninth goal of Chile 2015 and go level at
the top of the all-time U-17 World Cup
goalscoring charts. He slotted home with ease,
adding gloss to the Golden Eaglets victory.
Nigeria head to Vina Del Mar on Sunday for an
all-African final against continental champions
Mali while Mexico will face off against Belgium in
the match for third place earlier the same day.

The best and most exciting match of this tournament by a hundred miles...............*smiles*

I SAW IT ALL......... NWAKALI JUST "ANNOUNCED" HIMSELF TO THE WORLD......... I ALWAYS KNEW HE HAD THOSE FREEKICKS IN HIM....... IT REMINDS ME OF THE ONE HE STRUCK AGAINST Niger Republic at the 2015 Caf u-17 Afcon.

WHAT AN INSPIRATIONAL CAPTAIN........ WHAT A PERFORMANCE FROM THE LAD..... HE RODE THE WAVES AND STEPPED UP JUST WHEN "A HERO" WAS NEEDED.......... *smiles*

Lazarus is the man...... The finest right-back at this tournament..... He's not perfect..... but he's very good.....

Chukwueze and Osimhen (though they both hit the woodwork) didn't really come to the party "in full force" but they did just enough..... BUT I KNOW THE FINAL WILL BE THEIR TIME TO EXPLODE AGAIN...... Coz their Other Musketeer will be back...... "BAMGBOYE" *smiles*

And yeah, OSIMHEN HAS SET A RECORD (THANK U NWAKALI AND AMUNEKE FOR ALLOWING HIM TAKE THAT PENALTY) FOR SCORING IN "SIX CONSECUTIVE" U-17 world cup matches (this kid has scored in every "single" match....... Oruma held the record by scoring in 5 consecutive games @ Japan 93 but Osimhen has "shattered" that record)

Other "consecutive" goal runs:

-witeczedek of Germany (1985) with 8 gls scored in not more than 2-3 consecutive games.....

-Sinama Pongolle of France (2001) with 9gls scored in 4 consecutive games.

-Souleymane Coulibaly of Civ (2011) with 9gls scored in 4 consecutive games.

-etc, etc...... (BUT NONE OF THE OTHERS WAS MORE THAN "3-4" CONSECUTIVE GOALS RUN)

Also, Osimhen is now JOINT RECORD TOP SCORER IN THE HISTORY of the FIFA U-17 WORLD CUP WITH JUST ONE GOAL AWAY FROM SETTING A NEW "WORLD RECORD" AT U-17 LEVEL...... *smiles*

That MEXICAN NO.3 (THEIR CAPTAIN) WAS ALL OVER OSIMHEN TODAY AND GOSHH!!!! Those beards na wa oooo!!!!!! Same with Mexico's no.20....

Anyway, NIGERIA GAVE MEXICO THEIR FIRST DEFEAT AT CHILE 2015..... Imagine that, Mexico and Mali were the only unbeaten teams left in the tournament...... But now Mexico don chop their own...... It's unfortunate the Malians would be served theirs in the final..... Coz I see Nigeria messing Mali up "big time"

Folks, The Germans couldn't beat the Mexicans.... The Ecuadorians (who have been Mali's toughest opponent so far..... Mali merely scraped a 2-1 win) were taken apart "piece by piece" in a keenly contested game......

For me, We've just beaten the "toughest" team in the competition........ I CHOSE NOT TO BE ON NL DURING THE GAME because I WANTED "A FULL VIEW" OF HOW WE WERE GONNA TRY NAVIGATE THE MEXICAN JUGGERNAUTS....... I WANTED TO "KEENLY" ANALYSE "OUR TEAM"........

Lady and Gentlemen, That Mexican team is "Super Good".......... No hypes abeg!!!! They good no be small...... But yes, I expect a "tough" final akin to Japan 93...... But in the end... "LIKE I ONCE WROTE EARLIER" ON THIS THREAD............

"THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN NIGERIA'S.
TOURNAMENT ALL ALONG........"

Anumudu was awesome...... Just unlucky not to have had any of his shots hit the target......

Enogela, Zakari, And Ikwu....... Well done lads...

Udoh...... Thank you so much....*smiles*

Ebere Osinachi...... Thanks for that "all important" third goal....... You rock!!!!!

Okonkwo Orji....... I have one word for you....... "PULCHRITUDINOUS" *smiles*

The substitutes (Alimi Sunday, Madueke, and Osikel)......... Thanks for keeping the team's structure when u came in........

***MEHN!!! THAT "MESSI" OR "MARADONA" GOAL BY THAT MEXICAN NO.2 TOOK MY BREATH AWAY........ SIMPLY AWESOME..... **but we for bring am down naaa..... Our defenders and "4" were ball watching...... But it's alright.... The Mexicans are really really good...... Kudos to them**

BUT MEHN THAT OKONKWO ORJI STRIKE NA "WORLDIE" ABEEEEGGGGGG....... HEEEEIIIIIII......

The Nwakali freekick was top-class..... Who talk say set-pieces won't be our stronghold in the near future........*SMILES*

A NEW ERA WAS BORN IN 2013 AND THE WAVE IS SWEEPING THROUGH SUBSEQUENT GENERATIONS STARTING WITH THE 2015 GENERATION...... **smiles**

Congratulations Nigeria.............*SMILES*

I believe our success is already written in the skies.........*smiles* This victory is not for "today" BUT FOR "TOMORROW".......... THE FUTURE OF NIGERIAN FOOTBALL......... Building on what BEGAN AS A NEW ERA IN 2013............

**The Nigerian Soccer Project continues..................*smiles*
Re: All The News About The Golden Eaglets (U-17) HERE! by TheSuperNerd(m):
One more thing:

Mali would "undoubtably" be formidable opponents....

But I still feel we just beat the "toughest" team in the tournament............

Anyway, the thing is this.........

NIGERIA HAS NEVER LOST TO AN AFRICAN TEAM AT THE FIFA U-17 WORLD CUP SINCE THE "VERY" FIRST EDITION IN 1985.......

-China 1985: Guinea 1-1 Nigeria (Nigeria won 4-2 on pen.)
Stage: Semi-finals

**Guinea had A Traore and a Koita.... So does this Malian team.... Coincidence?? *smiles*

-Japan 1993: Ghana 1-2 Nigeria
Stage: Final

-T&T 2001: Nigeria 1-0 Burkina faso
Stage: Semi-finals

Note: On November 8th, it is the team that wants it "bad enough" that will take the title..... History will as always have to take the back seat.... But watch out!! History knows how to rear its "head" often times than not.....*smiles*

ALL THE BEST IN THE FINAL GOLDEN EAGLETS........

LET'S SHOW THE WORLD THAT "ASIA" IS "NOT" THE ONLY CONTINENT THAT GUARANTEES US TROPHIES AT THIS LEVEL........... LET THEM KNOW WE CAN WIN ANYWHERE........ I MEAN..... "A-N-Y-W-H-E-R-E"

*****BIG SMILES*****

Hahaha....... Sir....... There are a lot of things I don't support as a Christian......

And part of that is being "overly religious" about things..........

If I bring up my displeasure with the world in the manner u did........ Mehnn!!! I'll end up not achieving my aims of "showing people" the light......

There are ways to go about things..... And there are ways to say things......but Religion has limited the views of many to see things in "black and white" views only.......*smiles*

Sir, I'm a Christian in the mold of 1 John.3v9....... Yeah.... But I will not take the "judgmental route" on others because of their "HAIRSTYLES".

Some Christians even see keeping a well groomed Afro as "flamboyant"...... This issue has many sides....... So YOU CAN'T JUST SAY IT SHOWS INDISCIPLINE.

In my post, I said.... Yes!! It shows indiscipline and no vision in "SOME" BUT NOT "IN ALL"......

I never said u were wrong or right...... But I did say..... It's better to just move over some things because of the "MULTI-FACETED" NATURE THEY COMMAND.....

DISCIPLINE AND SUCCESS WILL ALWAYS BE AN ISSUE OF THE HEART/MIND......... NEVER HAIRSTYLES......

BUT THAT IS NOT TO SAY I WANT EVERYONE TO BE CARE-FREE WITH WHATEVER HAIRSTYLE THEY WANT......... I BELIEVE IN THE APPLICATION OF MODERATION TO APPROPRIATE ISSUES OF LIFE SO AS TO KEEP ONE "GROUNDED".........

So yeah..... I do like Safarigirl.... Just the way I like: TheGoodJoe (super analyst)..... His words and sentences can cause "brain signals traffic

Well, so u see Sir...... I try to be "honest" and "straightforward" and always "devoid of Forming Cliches"........

So that's it....... *smiles*

Cool..... Nice predictions Safarihoney....... *smiles*

Top scorer award (Golden Boot) no need prediction.... It's "super clear" *smiles*

But the Silver and Bronze boots are not settled yet. One goal each from Chukwueze, Nwakali and Maiga could knock Eggestein off the 2nd and 3rd top scorer awards positions......... *smiles*

The MVP Awards category sees a couple of "outstanding talents" likely to make the Top 3 positions (Golden, Silver and Bronze Balls).

My Top "11" (in no particular order):

-Kelechi Nwakali (Nigeria)
-Victor Osimhen (Nigeria)
-Sidiki Maiga (Mali)
-Samuel Chukwueze (Nigeria)
-Claudio Zamudio (Mexico)
-Aly Malle (Mali)
-Dante Rigo (Belgium)
-Pablo Lopez (Mexico)
-Vorn Vancamp (Belgium)
-Kevin Magana (Mexico)
-Nikola Moro (Croatia)

For the Golden Gloves..... Well, it's still not "eureka" but Mali's Samuel Diarra currently leads.

For Fair play Award..... It's great to have Bamgboye back as I see him as one who would play a "Big Role" in dwarfing the "yet-to-be-beaten" Malians..... Yes!!! He's the reason we'll not win the fair play award but I think I prefer the "World Cup Title".......**winks**

Oh yeah.... Fair play will likely go to Mexico (unless they pick up a "red" in 3rd place) NOT Belgium. Belgium has a "red".......

Interesting Tournament....
