If you consider that the stats for mata at United are mostly from wide position then I think he's been phenomenal. In this case I'm sure this is a telling stat.

There's nothing good or tactical in passing the ball in the bottom half of the pitch. its just a very safe way to approach the game. it will get us results playing against poor quality oppossition but we go hear am when we meet good teams. or you believe chances will magically be created then? No matter how dissatisfied we are there are still positives to take. My reference to City was in that light.
At the end of the day it's 3 points that matter.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Mata fan but don't pay the stats any mind. I think he was far better at Chelsea than he is at UTD.

He's been used mostly from wide positions. He hasn't had the freedom to orchestrate attacks from his no.10 role.
I think he's done well given the limitations he's operated within.
Those stats don't compare him to anyone.

Fergie is gone! I made reference to last season when oga LvG was already here, not Fergie era.

I also acknowledge that even with all our criticisms of LvG all he needs to point to is our position on the table which is not bad for 12games. But this style is not sustainable, I doubt we can win anything if something agressive and positive is not added to the team. That's why attack attack attack usually rent air in our games. It does not have to be Fergie style but something needs to change positively to bring a little of the fear factor at OT.

He got us back in Europe last season and this season we are currently topping our group in the champions League.
In the Premier League we are currently sitting fourth on the table . A very tight table where twopoints seperate us from the top team.
If we are sitting near the top over Christmas/new year period,I am confident we canwin this League this season.

Van Gaal is an entirely different entity and his style is different. Expecting Fergie style soccer with van gaal is not going to happen.
