Did you make sure you enabled the router interface, with 'no shut'

e.g.

ipv6 router eigrp 1
no shut or no shutdown
router-id 1.1.1.1 (or w/e you want your router id to be).

It should work. Also instead of taking a picture with your phone, please use the snipping tool screenshot tool to capture a screenshot. What version of packet tracer are you using btw? Though all versions should work. You should be using version 6.2

Its 6.2 and I am using router 1841 for the config... Were can I download the most recent gns3. Thanks..

Subnet and CIDR go hand in hand. Let me explain.

CIDR stands for classless inter-domain routing. So if I have a CIDR notation of say /27 which corresponds to 255.255.255.224 it's just a short hand of me writing a subnet mask.

So if I told you to allocate an IP address assignment of a a /22 to our general staff that would mean allocate an IP address space under the subnet mask of 255.255.252.0 which ultimately supports 1,022 hosts.

Please let me know if you understand it now.

Nice thread....I would very much partake In this wonderful learning/discussion on Cisco networking. Am a graduate of computer engineering. But recently started a self study plan (ccna) r& s before hiting up Sec, am currently using pt and gns3 as my sim....with Todd's material. Still on TCP/IP chapter though and it has been interesting i must say. hoping to write my exam come January. Please guys are there uni in Nigeria that offers Cisco course towards obtaining an MSc. There are no unis that offer masters for only Cisco coursework. However, there are unis that offer masters in network systems engineering.

Hi, there is an ICT bootcamp coming up in Sharaton hotel. I understand from the advert placed that at the end of the bootcamp, your performance could grant you the opportunity to be taken as an intern in one of the partnering organization to come. Check out their site, it could be the opportunity we are looking for. http://iceb.org.ng/index.php/en/ smiley

Good morning. I have downloaded gns3, but the error message I got is this "no routers have been configured. You must provide your own router images in order to use gns3."

Are they referring to a life router?...

Thanks..

you need cisco ios image file for the routers to function. Download from file sharing site and remember to download images for the router series supported by gns3. You should read the installation manual for gns3 b4 proceeding.

Sorry, not that familiar with this glbp concept, though a nice mechanism for load balancing. Compare your configuration to the cisco link below. Its cisco's official glbp recommendation. Note; your device needs to support multiple mac-address for it to work. Lets know if it works.www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/ipapp_fhrp/configuration/xe-3s/fhp-xe-3s-book/fhp-glbp.html

From my little understanding, let me put you through:
It is called IP subnet zero. This deal in the abilility for your block size to start from zero.
Let's say your subnet mask is 192.168.10.0/27.

Definitely, this is a class c IP address with CIDR of /27.So if we take third octet,we we see that it has mask of 224.
So block size = 256-224
=32
Normally, your block sizes should 32,64,96,128....256 but since it's IP zero subnet, it'll now be 0,32,64,96,128....256 and diy can be plot in the vlsm table/graph as thus also.
