my people perish for lack of Knowledge. This whole issue of French flag on FB is a personal thing and nobody is in any position to tell Чōϋ' what to do or not to do on your personal profile. My question is; is this D̶̲̥̅̊ first France attack? For me I have my reason for joining D̶̲̥̅̊ campaign and so do many. It does not mean I'm not praying for Nigeria. # it's a free world. 2 Likes |

senator1145:Dear Sir, I write to register my complaint over your company’s failure to identify with Nigerians in times of tragedy, but rather chose to identify with other nations. Sir, I don’t want to believe your bias was informed by the assumed superiority of the races you often identify with. In any of our recurring tragedies, either when we were bombed in our sanctuaries or social gatherings, Facebook has never identified with Nigeria. While my heart goes to the French over last night’s terrorist attacks that led to the death of at least 120 people, I couldn’t but lash at the folly of Facebook for failure to identify with Nigeria when an estimated 15,000 Nigerians were killed by terrorists in round-the-clock attacks in eight years. I notice a smashing theme you created for your 1 billion users to use in order to identify with a particular people. You are even more effusive when you pin the banner on our doorstep for easy use. When Boko Haram terrorists attacked Baga town in January this year, the death toll was estimated at 2,000. This never melted your company’s heart to create an instant theme for your 1 billion consumers to identify with Nigeria. Let me remind you that in a single attack on Kano city in January 2012, at least 185 lives perished, and in Bama town in February 2014, at least 120 Nigerians were massacred. In one fell swoop in November 2014, Boko Haram bombed 220 Nigerians at a mosque in Kano city, 50 worshippers bombed at Madalla church in 2011, and in February 2014, at least 60 students were slain at a Yobe school. Your company didn’t identify with us despite our loyalty to your network. Let me also remind you that at a weekend in January 2014, terrorists’ attacks on eight Borno villages left 150 dead. Facebook blinked over it – perhaps because we are not the same as the French. On May 20, 2014, car bombs left a gory sight at Jos bus terminal and a market. 118 people were declared dead. We posted the pictures on Facebook, but you turned your eyes away. Even #BringBackOurGirls movement, agitating for the release of 224 school girls abducted by terrorists, failed to prick the conscience of your company to identify with Nigeria. We posted every activity, every sit-out and every march on your network, but you blinked over it. As a company, to gives equal opportunity and discourages racism I urge you to identify with not only Nigerians but Africans in their trying times. Attached herewith are two copies of Nigerian flags for your perusal and consideration. Best regards, Jaafar Jaafar |

all4naija:*checks head* result: 100% intact . BBOG is great, but beyond that do you publicly declare a "prayer session" everytime BH attacks and kills people in their hundreds? At least I know of the multiple explosions in Abuja and suleja concurrently. The victims re almost twice the Paris victim; you didn't see it as a "big deal" but something similar happened in Paris albeit not as bad as that from your country, you declared "prayer and fasting" for the victims. The issue isn't that the paris attack wasn't debilitating enough, the issue is the hypocrisy behind the act. Charity begins at home.If you still don't understand then I can't help you. Here is hoping you don't throw tantrums again, but if you do; i'll joyfully reply accordingly. . Cheers in advance. . Lool 1 Like |

[For Nigerians hitting on other Nigerians for updating profile pics to France flag in solidarity- Not only did The French rally round when the Chibok girls were kidnapped (see pics) so we should also show support, but we've been taught to not only do things for people because they did things for us. We must always support, we must always help - doesn't matter what the equation is especially when it comes to life. We are not ignorant of the conspiracy theories surrounding global Terrorism & weapons of mass destruction but the folks watching a football match, listening to music at a concert, eating food in a restaurant could just have easily been anyone of us on a normal Friday. Change your profile pic if you connect this way & you stand with Paris. I stand with Paris as I stand with Chibok even though my profile remains the same- it's just because I've been trained to do the talking/ fighting & supporting with my pen instead. If you think the Western world ignores the terrorist attacks in Nigeria or other places in the world- why don't you draw attention to it? Start something too. it's social media, you can start your own campaign - but do it for the right reasons and stop whining -STOP waiting for other people ("The West" to tell your own story & get upset when they tell theirs "It is an attack against us all. We will face this threat together with all necessary means and ruthless determination. This shameful act of terrorism will only achieve the opposite of its purpose, which was to divide, frighten, and sow hatred. We will do what is necessary to defeat extremism, terrorism and hatred."- EU Leaders 2015 "In the face of tragedy we stand against defeat- together"-Rae Ogbu 2015 Like quote author=neolboy post=40077072]Author and TV host, Reno Omokri, has condemned the Paris attacks while urging Africans and Asians to set themselves free from mental slavery. The former media aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, said it is a display of low self esteem for Africans and Asians to put French flags on their profile as a result of the Paris attacks when they do not put their own nation’s flag on their profile when terrorists attack their own nations. “Terrorism is evil and condemnable. But we should not only cry when it happens in rich nations. We should treat it the same wherever it occurs. I sympathize with France, but why are Africans and Asians putting French flags on their profile when they do not put their own nation’s flag on their profile when terrorists attack their own nations? Are French lives more precious than their own brothers and sisters who are killed daily by home grown terrorists like the satanic Boko Haram and Al Shabab,” he queried. The New Media savvy preacher, added that Africans and Asians should stop worshiping the Europeans. “Africans and Asians should remember the words of Bob Marley and “emancipate yourself from mental slavery”. Terrorism is bad everywhere and not just in Paris. In every area of our lives we exhibit this low self esteem. We celebrate and worship European soccer and denigrate our own leagues. Now we sympathize with European victims of terror and are indifferent to our own victims. In Nigeria there are 1.5 million citizens displaced by terror. Cry for them first my brothers and sisters,” he said on his Facebook post. The flag of France has adorned Facebook profile of many across the world in solidarity with France over the Paris attacks. source:www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/french-flags-on-profile-set-yourselves-free-from-mental-slavery-omokri-charges-nigerians/
