And yet the whole came to support us for #Bring back our girls. Presidents, Prime ministers etc all supported the crusade.

It's not a shame, it's not hypocritical and it's not slavery either.

Ciara or some American musician made a song about terrorism and Boko-Haram, how may Nigerian/African artist has done that.

Attacks in Nigeria aren't documented well in Nigeria, the Nigerian government and people alone don't do anything about it. So who's the hypocrite.

Those criticizing Facebook, didn't celebs and powerful people from different countries show support for Nigeria, how many of you in this thread showed support? How did you show support?

Facebook is largely private so mark Zuckerberg and other shareholders can do whatever they like.

Thank you and may God bless you. Completely succinct comment.

because allot of people are being killed and displaced by terrorists group in Africa e.g

You should be asking how your country has given to fight terrorism around the world but developed nations have helped with materials to fight Boko Haram. Here you are telling us we shouldn't choose to sympathize with them when they are attacked. I can see why that country is not progressing because people there are just too silly and completely ignorant.

since the paris incident, i have seen and read about nigerians condeming fellow nigerians for showing symphathy and support for france lemme say this.. theres nothing wrong in showing support and sympathy for victims of paris terrorist attack. Its often easy for us to condemn whites as being racist where as our actions and opinions proves that we can be more of a racist too.. i remembered vividly that the world showed support when our girls was kidnapped..because some group took it upon themselves to create awareness about the tragic incident and ganered worldwide attention. They came up with # bringbackourgirls which was a brilliant idea. The world tweeted and hashtagged.. talked about it and showed support.. that was the way we created awareness and solicit for support. The flag/ # prayforparis is the way france is askin for support.. The french came up with the idea of the flag and #prayforparis to get the same support we got from the world. And then the ignorant ones are saying to the people showing support that they are being brainwashed..now my question is did we brainwash the rest of the world in showing us support after our girls were kidnapped.? Now some of us has stopped showin support for france just because some people say to you that you are being brainwashed if you use the flag or hashtagged pray for paris. Where as the real brainwashing starts from the moment you think showing support and sympathy for france is wrong based on the stupid statement made by some foolish people who probably have racist thoughts and are making you to think like them..

So many ignorant baboons on this thread, op and his ilk included. its not the first time such a thing will happen on facebook; during The US gay legalization whatever, something of such came up where you could Click on a link to colour to fb profile pix with the rainbow colour. That's not all. There are other major events that happened and fb acknowledged. What I see here is close mindedness and hypocrisy.. When the boko haram surge was high, why didn't you inform facebook to create a link to allow people colour profile pix with Nigerian flag? Why crying foul now? If you are pained, jump into the lagoon and do humanity a favour. Arrant nonsense

In less than 48hours after the terrorist attack in Parish, French media outfit already released names, countries of origin, occupation etc of the unfortunate victims. And someone is angry that Facebook profile pictures were changed to French national flag? Or angry that prayers were to be made on France behalf? Well, am not happy about the incident but Oyibo is far more organized than Africa. Since Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen started wasting lives, have we ever been told the names of the victims? Even the so called Chibok saga, the girls had no names. When was the last time our newpapers publish same "numbers" of dead victims?? Lets face it, we seem to play with lives here and its wrong.

i'm sure deep down you know that's not the point! We are talking about our fellow Nigerians who don't see any reason to show solidarity about their own victims of BH in their thousands that happen frequently but deem it befitting to "PrayForParis". Praying for Paris is not the issue, i'm Christian and we are to pray for peace of the world;but Nigerian people praying publicly and openingly campaigning for Prayers for Paris of less than 200 victims while their own country has recorded over 9000 victim and still counting. Ain't lives supposed to be the same everywhere? It's the hypocrisy and double-standard we are talking of! That's the bone of contention and not necessarily the act! Nigeria needs more "revival". An explosion just rocked somewhere in the north and I expect everyone "praying for Paris" to have started clamouring for a "revival" for Nigeria, who knows; a solution will just come. But since it's not "Paris" they wont.#yimu!

the point is about you as a nigerian now (assumedly). Are you aware that thousands have been killed are still gonna being killed as long as BH exists? Do u publicly and openly declare a "revival" for Nigeria? Judging from the number of casualties, which country needs more "prayer and fasting"? Smh! Meanwhile, an explosion just rocked somewhere in the north, it's a good time to garner folks for the much needed "revival" after the order of "pray for paris" undecided

pained? I don't think the op is pained. He is just showing you the double standard and hypocrisy in such act. You don't deem it fit to show "solidarity" openly for BH victims in their thousands nor pray publicly for Nigeria that her people get massacred per day; but you deem it proper to "Pray for paris" with same act of terrorism albeit less casualties. Smh! Fb did not make it compulsory. Perhaps if you've led a "Prayer for Nigeria" after every attack by BH, FB would av noticed and deem it worlthy to show solidarity! *sigh. Here is hoping you understand.

by "we" you mean the people, government or both? So let's assume the government is somewhat lackadaisical about lives, the people too should kill their empathy abi? Because the government hasn't been able to find a lasting solution, the lives killed have no right to be "prayed" for unlike that of Paris? Meanwhile, we have thousands of BH casualties and less than 200 Paris casualties. Which country needs more "prayers"? The point isn't the act, it's the hypocrisy behind it! I sympathise with Paris and they are in my prayers, but I don't have any moral right to upload any flag of France because I have not been uploading any nigerian flag since the BH massacre started yrs ago. If I have been doing it, it's a different ball game. Doing it now for Paris when my own house is also on fire is the height of hypocrisy and very low self esteem.
