I asked because I read that a few Igbos had a protest in a popular market in Lagos. They were requesting to have leadership positions in this market. Have you heard of this? If yes, was the request granted?

And if it was, don't you think it's detrimental to the history of Lagos when Igbos start holding traditional roles.

Dem craze? Give Iyalojo, a yoruba title in yorubaland to miscreants?

If the can't follow the laws that was laid out before these refugees started traveling to the West, they should move back to the east. No time for nonsense.

Are these attitudes exclusive to all AAmericans? I think not.

Besides, the Akata could be a term used solely for female AAs for being 'no nonsense' type of folks as women are generally are.

I thin the term is just a reference for classification with no necessary meaning the same way Middle Beltans arr called 'egede', Ibos are called 'yinmirin' and Hausas are called something too.

Yoruba is known to develop words for things/groups.

sorry!

Yorubas name people based on their places of origin and tribe.

eg omo Ibo meaning child of Ibo, omo Awusa meaning child of Hausa or Hausa descendant.

Names like Gambari which is also a term for Hausa people, are from an actual Hausa name which is Gambari (could also be the name of a town)

Nyamiri which they said means water, is a Hausa term , not a Yoruba one.

AAs are simply called Oyinbo (white people or Europeans).

go easy on the misinformation.

ajokuta mamomi which is a reference to food, is the same category as ofe mmanu. I have no idea where or when these recent terms originated and neither did I encounter any of such prior to joining nairaland.

Yes. There are other Yoruba's contesting for the position but because of the numerical advantage of the igalas they will lose as usual.
The deputy governorship candidate of APC in this election is a Yoruba and he must be sworn in whether Igala people like it or not.
Enough is enough.
