For such serious news, the least the reporter could have done would be to properly edit the write up.

That said, a protest infringing on the rights of thousands of innocent, law abiding citizens, going about their legal businesses, by blocking the right of movement across a federal bridge, can not be considered peaceful.

They all should be charged to court.

We're u there during the protest? Every citizen has his or her right to protest, it's a constitutional right of a citizen. When the force men that is paid salary with this citizens tax began to unlawfully take their lives, there are innocent citizens who do not partake in the protest and unfortunately become a victim of this menace.

Where in the civilized world do soldiers of a country shoot at protesting citizens? If they went beyond protesting to constituting a nuisance then they should have been dispersed in a civilized and non lethal manner. I weep for Nigeria. No wonder these people are tired of being citizens of Nigeria, their own soldiers didn't see anything wrong in shooting live ammunition at them. May the souls of all those that died as a result of this disgraceful act REST IN PEACE.

This is very, very dangerous and so, so unfortunate. The Nigerian state must de-escalate the situation with immediate effect and enter into dialogue as a matter of urgency with the aggreived parties.

Even you know that you are not saying the truth, it's so funny how you guys complain about everything that is not business as usual for you.
You guys have thriving businesses all over the country because you are always welcomed every where, but how many other tribes have thriving businesses in your own region.
How many other tribes have built homes on your lands without harassment, how many non Igbo have you employed in your government offices.

Yet you complain. Always complaining.
I believe that if you are really ready to 'go' you should just do the following simple things.
1. Stop receiving federal allocation from Nigeria
2. Close down all your businesses all over the Country so that you can rundown the economy
3. Stop traveling with the Nigerian passport
4. Recall all legislators from your region and let them stop helping us rule Nigeria.

You can't eat your cake and have it. You cant be enjoying the common wealth of Nigeria and be clamouring for Biafra.

If your governors can build your states to compete with countries like The UAE, or SA to start with, then I'll understand that the country is too backward for you.

Even if you are granted Biafra, are you sure, that leadership tussles with follow, more people dies!

Stop showing your ignorance. Majority of those protesters have businesses they are running. Igbo guys are not lazy, so don't think those guys don't have anything to do, and that's why they are protesting.

South East doesn't need any damn charity. Apart from Lagos State, the south East is still more economically viable than the rest of the south West states and the whole of the Northern states.

The youth protesting aren't interested in listening to the governors. It's just the same way Boko boys don't want to listen to the political leaders of the north. I just hope the government will find a diplomatic way to handle this issue, but Buhari is not known for diplomacy.

I was trapped there from 1pm yesterday till 4am this morning and while I was returning from enugu later today i saw 8 DANGOTE trucks on fire . That's now a peaceful protest . You can't put a nation on stand still for 3days . I expected them to be shot at earlier than now

The protest had their peaceful protest on Tuesday without any casualty but the situation was aggravated when the Joint Military Task Force who could not disperse them on Tuesday invaded the Niger Bridge at about 1:30am and opened fire on the thousands of protesters who refused to leave the Niger Bridge killing six people

The encounter left about nine people dead

The useless, Barbaric and Uncivilized Military of that Zoo opened fire on Peaceful Protesters again and killed nine people

What does burning Mosque have to do with what soldiers did to you? Until we start dealing with these made-in-factory babies, they won't come back to their senses.
