Very good! Lemme explain, using some lines in your verse as example.

The first bar:

James thinks my bars have gotten whacker with time

It stung hard but I know I've gotten weaker with rhymes

I'm sure you wanted to do four syllables here but the starting rhymes 'whacker/weaker' don't rhyme. It's not a must that every word in the syllables must rhyme but always ensure that the first and the last do; you can slant those in the middle. No problem about that.

This Saturday; I will spend it in five different ways

Been three months we saw last; need some time with my bae

Mum's down and dejected cos she feels that I ran away

Last year alone and I couldn't help but ponder over it all

Due to the way you kicked off, I assumed you adopted the two-line scheme, but you derailed here when you couldn't end the 4th line with a word that rhymes with ways/bae/ and away - the 4th's end rhyme is 'all' which doesn't match with the scheme. Even the "all" doesn't really rhyme with "burn". Burn can go with "learn/yearn/earn/turn/spurn", etc.

And I've had my girls threaten me to take their lives

But the same time I was trying hard to make 'em rhymes

I was still really fighting hard to make exams

My soul judges me and says I've commited crimes

In rap battles, your bar carry more weight when the setup connects with final punch.

I agree with this! NL should stop being too restricted with the 3lines ,then punch style of brawling. Textcees lyk tega gat wuld take almost 12 lines to land a punch(Via story-telling) and guys lyk ink wuld take jez 2. Its not the set-up, its the creativity,ingenuity and the perturbation IMO ...Altho,darkrebel's style is jez boring cuz after a long set-up,he doesn't wow the audience with his punchz and most times doesn't carry em along

Yes, you can twist it anyhow you like. That's where complexity comes in. It's risky, though, because you'll always have to make it even. If you start with three you must add another three to balance it. But just so you don't make a mistake, two is advisable.

I simply told you what I know and added some explanation as well. Text battle schemes are quite different from their audio counterpart. Can you also explain why most audio wordplays are not pardonable in text? When you battle someone in text, your focus must be on your opponent.

I was gonna deal with everything serially in order not to disappoint and make the tourney drag. But with this lazy attitude of the organizers and judges; why waste time dealing with a dead movement? it's a matter of time before I pull out. Just keep with your act.
