Please , I beg you for Christ sake, don't kill yourself. Please speak to somebody face to face today about your feelings- may be your pastor, if not your parents.

Baeyel:
this is a pure case of a very brilliant person studying the wrong course. my bro, you would have excelled in arts or humanities. you made a mistake of studying mathematically related courses though you are clearly not good there. a lot of people do these because of prestige or for reasons best known to them. my bro, leave what you are doing and identify your gifts. dont let the issue of poverty stop you. just find a way. good luck
I wish someone gave me this advice more than a decade ago..

You have done all that is humanly possible, but have you tried God?turn to Jesus and in faith, all will be well, never ever give up.
I had the same experience as yourself, from being very smart in primary school to secondary and even scored 240 in JAMB back then only to fail hugely in the university,i turned to God and asked for help,i didnt want an extra yr and i prayed, and God helped me,delivered me from extra yr and i graduated with a 2.2,i never left God alone,i held and still hold on to him as the one who does it all and now i have a job that 2.2 doesnt merit,Dont give up because God is able.

Hey bor, you are too young to think like that. Just follow this processes, it may work.
1. Find passion in your course
2. Be friendly to those better than you in that field.
3. Related with your counselor and lecturers
4. Don't be too frugal with your studies, listen to music eat and finally
5. Pray before and after studying
be confident in yourself and believe in what ever you do.

Good Morning.

All You Keep Saying Is "I Worked Very Hard, I do this i do that" What About "PRAYER" Include it and see the difference. Don't Forget It Is "WORK AND PRAY" not only work.
If your emphasis is his lack of prayer, then you've not read his post well. I see you getting 'D' in comprehension test.
Re: Poor Grades In School: Come To My Aid Nlders, I Need Your Advice by ODUBEZE: 12:05pm On Dec 11, 2015
Killing yourself will never solve any problem but add to your parents misery!
Is your performance really worth your life?
Is your life so cheap? No! So stay and fight it out!
There are some factors that could however be responsible for what you are going through! I hope these helps:
1. Prayer: B4 U start reading ask God to give you retentive memory, secondly this prayer point is very important ask him to guide you in coming across relevant places. It is not enough to read the whole text book!

---
2. Past Questions: Past questions help a great deal! Some of these questions are sometimes repeated while it also direct you in knowing your area of Concentration. You also get to know what the question (s) look like. Trust me, it helps a great deal!

---
3. Attending class regularly also help because during this time most lecturers lay emphasis on their expectations and that is what you might not get reading textbook or alone!

---
4. Since you said you choose the right course look for a brilliant person ahead of you. They will share their experience with you and also tutor you on how to answer questions. like I said every lecturer have their expectations, it might be logical or simplified.

---
5. Before starting or opening any question paper, ask God to remind you all you have read! It works!

---
6. If you have done all these and it still did not work let me know!

---
But remember suicide will never solve your problem! stay, stay and fight it out. That is the only time you can be a CONQUEROR!
I wish U d very best!

The course is so irrelevant, "philosophy".
I wish I was strong enough to do so many things.
Since the new session started, it is so hard to even concentrate, low self esteem is creeping in already, I am in a way 'introverted' also, I don't watch ball, I don't play ball, I don't do females, I don't listen to music, nothing I know is distracting me, but still.
At attimes I take example of people around me, that are jobless, try to console my self with it, but then, who knows tomorrow.
what are those that are hard to you? am in the same school with you, school of financial studies... am studying banking and finance... am not good in account, bus. maths and bus. statistics.. but i dont fail them.. secret: i do anything i can, to get a nice mark in assignment and quiz.. even if it requires cheating.... then when it comes to exam, i just try my best, and find someone who knows those courses and stay with him or her...

Committing suicide is not an option likewise being a book warm to pass a course is not an option too.
Do you really attend lectures and pay attention to your lecturers?
In university understanding your lecturers is a course too, because most times you end up reading out of context claiming you are studying hard try group reading and pray to God for grace.

I stopped reading the comments after reading the one you said u are an accounting student. I'm happy 4u cos accounting is one discipline dt ur grade or degree doesnt matter much. I am a Chartered Accountant by profession though currently working with a company but will soon join my Aunty's firm as a partner which she has been telling me. dont worry just go on and study d course, do ur best &live d rest 4God, Im not saying dt i wil make u rich but i wil try my best 2give u all u need practical wise 2succeed. When u finish, I will bring u into our firm, train u 4sometime with a moderate pay cos by then if i had not started my own firm, i would have solidified with my aunty. after d 1 or 2yrs training, u will be very fit 2move 2so many companies of ur choice. Just make sure u understand d course &forget ur grade. while in d firm, u will be paid monthly and u will start ur ICAN dt time. connect me on facebook &lets be friends.....welcome to a world of limitless opportunities.....Accounting is arguably d only course wt a high future prospect. Nigeria wt more dan 170m people has less dan 40000 chartered Accountants & our job is highly protected from related profession. so u ve a great future. connect me first let me expose u a litle dude.

Use Liberator Nwogeh Ogbonna to connect me on FB, i will be mentoring u from now, meanwhile i will coach u on hw to write accounting exms as we beliv God dt ur GP wil start improving from dis sem

when u read try to concentrate, forget about family pressure and the peer pressure.
try to read in order to know more abt the course not only abt passing the exam

I understand you perfectly, I do tell people "I have tasted failure so i appreciate success meal". Tell yourself never again. Do you love the course you are studying? Do you worry yourself with family problems? Is there someone that is drifting your attention (Girlfriend,Friends etc.), Is your study pattern suitable for you? Do you sleep well?,Do you study smart and not just hard?. Have you introduced the use of mmnemonics into your reading life?. Answer all these and i am sure you know what to do.

Last but not the least...PRAY.

You hate philosophy, Am not a philosophy student..I love it, Try to read the book "Sophie's world", Am sure you will love philosophy. Am also introverted, so i know how you feel perfectly.

u shouldn"t consider commitin suicide as an option for not making ur desire result.
what u have to do is try to know the cause of ur poor performance at school.
check the friends u hang out wit(are they more intelligent than u or vice verser)
Did u have a reding partner(probably gal if u can control ur self) cos some times u learn faster when ur with ur opposite sex.

Good day Nairalanders, the time I started writing this is 3:22am, whether am a popular NLder or not doesn't matter, but I would like to Conceal my identity. These would be a bit long, because I would want to explain all what is happening and has been happening to me concerning my education.

I am from the eastern part of Nigeria, and school somewhere in the south, part of the top 10 universities in Nigeria.
Back in my, Primary and Junior secondary school, I was extremely brilliant, always part of first 3, a lot of times I was 1st in class and best overall. Even my junior waec, I was so happy, people were happy for me.

The problem started in my secondary school, I noticed I started dropping, my 2nd term in SS1, I was 21/23 in class, same school, same class mates.
I thought maybe I had started playing to much, so I stopped all what I figured out could be the problem, yet there was no solution, my parents got me private teachers for my core subjects. Once they are with me, I would understand what they teach me, when they leave, I don't slack, I continue reading and reading, when exam comes, it would seem like I wasn't the one who read. A day before the exam, it would be fresh in my head and when I even write the exam, my mind would be like "you have killed it"
My parents would ask how it was, my reply would be: "yes, it was perfect, expecting the perfect result".

When I see my result, I would as usual fail virtually everything.
Still, I managed to go/forge ahead, I was able to pass my WASSCE in one sitting, how I did that I don't know, not that I passed outstandingly, I only had 'credit' in all the subject I was expect to have grade 'C'.

Then the hustle for Jamb came, let it be known that I wrote jamb 5 times, and the 5th time was when I got admitted to my school of choice.

Currently in my 200level, we resumed a new session about 2months ago. Now to what caused dis write up.

My first semester of 100level result: C, F, A, D, D.

A terrible result for someone in 100level, yes, I know. I felt too relaxed first semester, played a lot.
I determined that 2nd semester would be better, not that I was expecting all A's but I didn't want any F.
So my whole 2nd semester was reading all through, I read to the extent that I started feeling sure I should have A's in at least 3 out of 6 courses.

But when the result came in, it was worse than my first semester without me playing or getting distracted,
My 2nd semester of 100level result: C, F, C, E, C,F

And now 200level has kicked off, but something is happening to me.

I don't think I can survive this anymore,
My parents don't have money, my dad is struggling to send us to school.
None of my siblings work,
I have been contemplating different means of ending my life,
I move about with shame, I don't sleep anymore, I can't get my head straight, I would stay awake all night crying and praying for a change in my academic life.

I have done all what I think I can humanly do, hence why the thought of taking my life,
I know I can't create a life, but of what use is one that doesn't seem to make people happy?
But then, I decided to come on here, to ask if there is something else in reading I am not doing apart from, reading.... I have applied all the reading techniques applicable, jot while reading, revise, ask myself questions, and all. But still after exam, I don't seem to have that desired result, I have prayed countless times.

By my side is a chemical I got when I discovered I had 2f's. Education, they say is the best legacy. But in my case it isn't sure if it would be, I am a business oriented person, but no money to even establish myself, so that's not an option, please Nairalanders, I don't wish to Take my life, please is there anything you can suggest to me other than suicide and constant reading and prayers. I am 22years of age.

cry
God bless.

Bro all will be well with U IJN but let me ask do u have a good hand writing? Is legible enough? it may to u but can ur friends read it easily without straining their eyes reason y failure Occurs is sometimes due to bad hand writing most lecturers donnt like stressing themself when they are marking scripts and they come accross bad writing scripts they get fed up and give low scores to them check ur handwriting bro

Bro I am going to address you as my younger bro.
I am a Life coach and I deal with this issue daily.
I perfectly understand every thing you have written and I am happy that you chose to come out seeking a solution to the present challenge.
Rewind back to some few years, I was in the same Dilemma and nearly took my own life. It was the effect it would have on my family that made me have a rethink, Finally God gave me the strength to challenge the educational monster.

I have had poor grades from well written courses
I have studied really hard with no results to show
Lecturers have tried to frustrate me
but today, I have a History of Unusual results.

1. First let me tell you, that what you are going through is a phase of discovery. You have so great a destiny to fulfill which is why the Devil wants to take your life.
2. You must realize that your academic performance or result in any Nigerian Institution is not directly proportional to the effort you give.
3. There is so much you will need to change to get the results you seek.
4. I will want to point you to a straight part.
5. I want to get to know you so I can measure what you will be learning by the results.
6. With God's help, you will be surprised at the results you will get.

The Year 2, in the University is that stage where your final grade is still redeemable. I had 4.17 and 4.49 in my Final year, and still finished with 3.36
so trust me, your life is just starting.
I wont charge you a dime.
We'll just get to talk and work on a few things and I await for your Next thread
HOW GOD GAVE ME A 2:1 AFTER I CONTEMPLATED SUICIDE.
To your Victory.
hit me up asap 08067895454, eldadkemuelmoses@gmail.com
God bless you.
