If Buhari didn't steal then Dokpesi didn't either.

Your background is very glaring. Keep exposing yourself.

His SUVs were destroyed by Boko haram and replaced by federal Government.( remember it is the duty of the federal govt to provide such cars to former head of states)

It is a no brainer.

Don't be decieved no matter how PDP try to twist this, nobody will go home scot free.

So let us even assume otherwise.

"Buhari has immunity so does the other 36 Governors. He did not write it in the constitution.

So let us prosecute those who don't have. When the next Government comes in, they should jail Buhari for collecting SUVs if that is illegal."

Before now, they did not want to make the declaration public, just so that adjustments like this can be made. Earlier also we were told he has about a hundred cattle, now it has risen to 270. Two houses were reported befor now, the one in kaduna and the one in Daura which he borrowed money to build now they are four house. And the biggest of the scam is; they said farm, without telling us what the farm looks like. I bet u, by the time he is out of office, that same farm u heard will be competing with Otta farm and then they will say he mentioned 'FARM'
What a SCAM!

The declaration was made public over 3 months ago, that is old news at this stage.

It has nothing to do with being smart , it is a matter if honesty.

Buhari does not have to address this matter, he is entitled to an amoured official vehicle. At the time the one he was using was destroyed by BH and as Constitution stipulated it was replaced by the office of the NSA.

What is so complex to understand

The documents also showed that the retired General “uses a number of cars, two of which he bought from his savings and [color=#990000]the others supplied to him by the federal government in his capacity as former Head of State
. The rest were donated to him by well-wishers after his jeep was damaged in a Boko Haram bomb attack on his convoy in July 2014.

He bought 2 cars. Federal government supplied some (we don't know how many or the make) in his capacity as former head of state (not unusual). The rest were donated by well wishers after the bokoharam attack (so I can safely assume that the 2 jeeps were part of this as we neither know the number of vehicles, make nor the people that procured it and also it is stated here that it was after the attack)

Declaration of property gotten from the fruit of corruption does not invalidate the source of the property.

Modified:
If a man steals money and buys a gift for his wife, he must be arrested and the gift confiscated by the police.

Raymond Dokpesi is a business man who collected money from the NSA for running a campaign. Since the money was ill gotten, he must answer for it because the NSA is not constitutionally empowered to pay for the FG's publicity.
In the same vein, GMB is not supposed to collect his constitutional entitlements from the NSA because it is not his responsibility to do so. There must be a Director of Welfare somewhere that should handle such matters.

Funds from all sources must be recovered but I think the only person(s) that should be prosecuted is Dasuki and others involved in the disbursement and sharing of the loot, not necessarily the beneficiaries. But if Dokpesi is tried and convicted, all others including GMB should be tried and convicted.

If there must be a director of welfare for past presidents he cannot not still act alone like in this case that involves an armoured car. The office of the NSA is the only approving officer of goverment for such car.

Secondly, whoever the director of welfare is, he cannot act alone when posting military and SSS operatives for Buhari's protection.

The point is, anyway you want to look at it, the NSA is directly responsible for Buhari's car and security details.

It is not in Buhari's place to ask the NSA who is an agent of the FG that is responsible to buy him cars, where or how the money for the cars came about. If Civil servants of a ministry were paid salaries from that money, they are not responsible of finding out the source of the money.

Its Dokpesi's duty to ask PDP who gave him a publicity job why the PDP's finance director or treasurer is not paying him but the NSA. If i were Dokpesi, i will be scared at what i am getting into. Its like me giving you a job but asking you to go to a police station to get paid. I sure wont do that job or colllect the money.

Just recently in my hustle. A director called me and gave me one big job with big money. There were people way ahead of me that usually do those kind of jobs for him. I was suspicious. I later learned that everybody rejected that job, i declined too. The guy who later did was picked up and spent 2days at DSS office.

Nice analogy....but I don't fully agree with you. Even if the NSA is responsible for the cars, the fact that it was fraudulently acquired must be acknowledged by the President and not simply say it is my entitlement. As a business man it is important to do due diligence before accepting any job. But in cases when payment is not made upfront why will you reject payment for a job which you have already performed simply because of the person paying it. As long as your debtor has instructed the person to pay, you take your money.

Using your example, if I am told to go to the police station to collect my money I will definitely be suspicious. But if I have rendered a service, I must get paid as long as the payer is under the direct control of my debtor.

The main issue here in my opinion is not whether defence money was used for other purposes or not, it is that due process was not followed by the government in the virement of budgeted expenditure.

By the constitution an ex President's car is to be changed every 4 years. The last time the FG gifted Mallam Intergrity with 2cars was 2012...how come he willingly took fiiiiiiiiive bullet proof cars as his "entitlement" in 2014 instead of 2016?? Hypocrites o!!!

Oga wa Mr Sense.

You guys are frantically defending this Buhari when in fact your defenses have further implications. ‎

This is what one of your 'best' lawyers (Festus Keyamo) put up in one thread...

“The Law on d entitlements of former Heads of State says they're entitled to 3 cars each to be changed by d FG every 4 years + other benefits.”

Adding that “The cars given to former Heads of State are ppties of d F.G as they must be returned & replaced every 4 yrs. They can't be declared as gifts.”

What do you have to say to that?

Your lawyer has rightly pointed out that Buhari cannot list these vehicles as his assets.

It looks like he is saying Buhari maybe guilty of illegal conversion of government property to his own.

How do you see it?

Great! I like your understanding but let me point something out.

The actual fraud that was commited was not the disbursement of the funds to Dasuki. The fraud was commited by Dasuki by the diversion of the monies to PDP campaign. Any part of the money that was used for statutory duties of the NSA is supposed to be ok as long as they have a plan to replace money spent that isnt appropriated. It is Jonathan and Dasuki's problem to repay borrowed funds, not Buhari's.

The funds originally was meant for development purposes, any other use of the money whether statutory, legal or otherwise, government were supposed to threat the money as borrowed. That point was made by NOIweala. They spent that money without plans to replace it especially if they lose the election. The funds can be compare to states bailout Buhari did. The difference is that since its from the same account those states will take money every month, they have to sign an agreement for FG to withhold that bailout fund from there allocations. That way the bail out is recovered.

I guess Jonathan never thought he will lose. Tha

Well... I see it as a trap by d GEJ govt.

they needed somtin to paint him black and they got it.

now put ursef in his shoe... would you deny ur constitutional entitlements from govt. as an ex-president? NO

the question should be... did Dasuki explain or give PMB any clue that d money wasn't legit?
